You now what I just realized is that they are doing this all in a cafe or something with people around them. I can imagine all the people staring at Martina's pepero drumming and sword fighting
When I first started watching your videos I thought you two were just friends. You guys are so great because you get along like friends but are obviously closer--and married!~d'aww! Keep up the great work. :)
OMG! I love peperos! My favourite is the oreo flavoured one or as they call it, white cookie. Yum yum~ Interesting fact: I can get it here in Malaysia.
Pepero stick manufacturers are sure to have great income. But its not only during Pepero day, in fact pepero sticks are a big hit all year round. I also stuffed my face with a lot of pepero sticks when I was in Seoul, South Korea
@Kasumi231 it is. to put it short, pepero is made by Lotte, the president of Lotte is a Korean-immigrant in Japan (or was born there I forget) and brought the product to Korea. Now Lotte has split into Japan and Korean Lotte companies
Pocky (from Japan) was created first, pepero (from S-Korea) was created second but got more popular and created "pepero day." In retaliation Pocky created "Pocky day" on 11.11. In n-california at least, pocky is more popular and no one really knows what pepero is.
@simonandmartina well you guys forgot one thing: ppl also make their own pepero. there are thousands of recipes online for how to make your own unique pepero, and a lot of older teens make them for their boy/girlfriends
@mintteu2 they're different things. pepero is a korean adaptation of pocky (since the company that made pepero is Lotte, and the president of the company is a Korean immigrant who lives in Japan, and the company originated in Japan) pepero and pocky taste different (pocky tastes buttery and creamy and pepero is more crunchy and less buttery tasting .)
@ahoyaudibear no no pocky is the japanese version and pepero is the korean version. they're a bit different.... pepero are a tiny bit fatter lol. where I live you can find both easily.
I love these videos of you guys just out chillin in a cafe. Prefer it to the ones in the studio. But i understand it's much harder doing videos out and about :-) Ps Love the drum roll at the end :-)
Pocky is the original, it's a product from the Japanese company, Glico. It's very popular and so it's also sold in America, but it's definitely not American. And Pepero was inspired by Pocky.
@xxxJuLiEtehe Except for the fact that the particular Korean grocery store I have in mind has an inventory that is 60% Japanese and 40% Korean yet calls itself a Korean grocery store, not a Japanese grocery store.
@whottsberg81 it's not a holiday. typical holidays you get the day off. it's just like valentines day. it's a celebrated event but you don't miss work or school
@ChonNABi Pocky is the Japanese name, Pepero is the Korean name Pocky belongs to the company Ezaki Glico whereas Pepero is a product from Lotte Confectionery.
In China, 11.11 is #Single# Day because the shape '1' means single and four '1' s means extremely single and alone. So this is usually a day of celebration for people who don't have a girlfriend or boyfriend, and couples are usually shooed if they display affection of each other publicly. LOL
The original just tastes like the chocolate Pocky and the almond Pepero is really good c:. They sell it in Canada for $4-5 (since it comes in like a some sort of case thing, like jelly straws and there's 5 packs of them)
Mikado is made by the same company(Glico) as Pocky. While Pepero is the the competitor version from the company "Lotte Confectionery". It's sort of like Pocky is Pepsi and Pepero is Coke.
@lisachanggg what? naaa there are already too many gaijins dicated to tell about life in japan, simon and martina are original not only because of their talent but also because they focus in korea
@melonbarmonster well apparently the ppl who made that translation don't know how romanization, or the Korean language works. jae and chae are different sounds and letters in Korea. it's really stupid to get that kind of words mixed up. ask any Korean about this and they'll tell you that Chaebul doesn't refer to a conglomerate, but a physical discipline held at schools or social organizations
Pepero and Pocky have two different tastes, so they aren't copied from Japan or Korea. They just look similar (btw, the original look/candy is from Europe, not Japan). Pocky is a bit more buttery than Pepero (as in the regualar biscuit part),where as Pepero is a bit more... pretzel-like tasting... (it's hard to explain XD) I find that the chocolate on Pepero is more rich than on Pocky also. Pepero comes in a lot of flavors too (like Pocky), but they have different tastes. See the difference?
It sucks that Pocky and Pepero day both fall on Remembrance day. You're supposed to remember and give respect to "The Glorious Dead" but at the same time, SO damn tempted to have a Pepero/Pocky party!
@gdragonanddanny pocky is japanese and pepero is korean. i think pepero is better because they give you more in one package. probably more than 10 or something like that... i never counted how much pepero is in one bag XD if you buy pocky, it's just 5 or 6 per bag...
@TomoexNanami (fixed typo) but he is a Japan-raised Korean, and his son, who is supposed to inherit the company, can't even speak a word of Korean b/c he's been living in Japan for so long. the guy founded the company in Japan and then brought it to Korea, and to me that proves that the company is Japanese. who cares what nationality the founding guy is??
I feel like I could never be able to celebrate Pepero day properly...the 11th of November is Armistice Day! I'd feel bad enjoying such cute snacks on that day!
you two are cute :'D I love the Almond one, I believe its the only version we actually have here..or maybe the normal plain chocolate ones too. Never saw the ones with chocolate inside of the stick :'D
It's remembrance day in the UK.....we can't have a Pepero day here then (Even though we have Mikado not Poky or Pepero, even though Mikado is just Poky re-named) It sounds cool though, and little less upsetting.
Well, there are no documentaries and there's no available place on the internet (that I know of) where we can find the information. I remember when I was little I went to the place where Pepero was first made, but that was when it was Pepero. So I guess I can't 100% confirm it.
@KiraUKissable Oh. Sorry then... I like both, since I'm Korean but still around Japanese stuff. They're not really the same... For the most part, anyway... Hm... Maybe they'll make strawberry Pepero, too... Interesting...
I've tasted both pepero and pocky(aka glico)... Pocky is more common in my country though. Since I live somewhere in south east asia, you can get this kind of thing anywhere, even at the pharmacy or the local snack shop. I grew up eating pocky... So i only knew of this 'pepero' a few yrs ago. Those asians out there, you prob shld know bout 'yan yan' too. Its so friggin awesome, hahaha. I ate it more often than pocky even:D
lol I've only had Pocky before, I live in America and you can only find it in World Market in the bigger packaging, but thankfully Walmart is starting to carry it in small packets, but only in the original and strawberry. World Market has the more exotic ones like the almond covered. I've heard yan yan's are really good too, but I've never had them seeing as world market only has the HUGE bags, at least the one I go to only has it. :P
Pocky is the actual official name in English version of Pepero? I always thought it's from some kind of random Japanese's *pepero* thing. Just wondering.
I guess you could call them a brother-brand? :p As in similar product just different country and package. I've never tried Pepero so I wouldn't know on taste but Pocky's are amazing! ^^

Adorkable overload! You guys are awesome, as usual!
OMG 3:09 is the best!!!
"I ate like a man..." LOLOLOL
Pocky (from Japan) was created first, pepero (from S-Korea) was created second but got more popular and created "pepero day." In retaliation Pocky created "Pocky day" on 11.11. In n-california at least, pocky is more popular and no one really knows what pepero is.
er... yeah, and I posted this twice b/c I'm on team pocky... heh.
Team Pocky!
You guys don't know how much I love you
man, yall r such a happy couple
Any occasion/holiday to share sweets/candy sounds like an excellent idea to me.
@simonandmartina well you guys forgot one thing: ppl also make their own pepero. there are thousands of recipes online for how to make your own unique pepero, and a lot of older teens make them for their boy/girlfriends
@TomoexNanami
although Lotte is a korean company, it was originally founded in Japan (by a korean person)
@mintteu2 they're different things. pepero is a korean adaptation of pocky (since the company that made pepero is Lotte, and the president of the company is a Korean immigrant who lives in Japan, and the company originated in Japan)
pepero and pocky taste different (pocky tastes buttery and creamy and pepero is more crunchy and less buttery tasting .)
I seriously love the subtitles
dont they also do the pepero kissing game? i've seen in on running man and other variety shows
i seriously love you guys sooo much
This couple is so weird in the most awesome way 😂❤️❤️❤️❤️
@ahoyaudibear no no pocky is the japanese version and pepero is the korean version. they're a bit different.... pepero are a tiny bit fatter lol.
where I live you can find both easily.
Haha when Martina was playing with these pepero sticks and Simon was just sitting there doing random stuff xD lol :D
these ppl are so cool! and martina has the attention span of a squirrel. shes so cute!
i swear this holiday was made up by the companies that sell pepero. greatest ad campaign ever.
almand peporo is the awsomest
omg i wish they sold the other ones but i've only seen the plain, strawberry and the almond one
Where are you guys at? I could hear people in the background. Did you get any weird looks? XD.
I love these videos of you guys just out chillin in a cafe. Prefer it to the ones in the studio. But i understand it's much harder doing videos out and about :-) Ps Love the drum roll at the end :-)
pepero day is really an example of excellent marketing strategy
Pocky is the original, it's a product from the Japanese company, Glico. It's very popular and so it's also sold in America, but it's definitely not American. And Pepero was inspired by Pocky.
good vid guys! i loved that there was lots a real interaction, and nbot just script.
@xxxJuLiEtehe Except for the fact that the particular Korean grocery store I have in mind has an inventory that is 60% Japanese and 40% Korean yet calls itself a Korean grocery store, not a Japanese grocery store.
you guys have some kick *ss hairstyles, do you get those done in korea?
@KDumbledore what is the correct spell for the thing?
does pepero taste the same as pocky? or is there a distinct difference?
@whottsberg81 it's not a holiday. typical holidays you get the day off. it's just like valentines day. it's a celebrated event but you don't miss work or school
@TomoexNanami half true, lotte is a japanese company but founded by a japan-raised korean. :)
pocky is a biscuit stick dipped in chocolate. They come in other flavors as well.
You guys are seriously adorable...
Awe I wish we had a pepero day. And I love you sweatshirt/jacket does anyone know were to get one?
@ChonNABi
Pocky is the Japanese name, Pepero is the Korean name
Pocky belongs to the company Ezaki Glico whereas Pepero is a product from Lotte Confectionery.
you guys always make good videos about korea
very good way of introducing korea. im proud as korean
In China, 11.11 is #Single# Day because the shape '1' means single and four '1' s means extremely single and alone. So this is usually a day of celebration for people who don't have a girlfriend or boyfriend, and couples are usually shooed if they display affection of each other publicly. LOL
You guys are so cute! By the way, where is it? Looks like a book cafe.
Mmm Pepero. They used to sell it in a shop near by but only the original, almound and nakid ones :C But they are gone now.
To sophie love: there is pepero i go to korean stores or a k&s wirld market and they have some i get them all the time along with yan yans
The original just tastes like the chocolate Pocky and the almond Pepero is really good c:. They sell it in Canada for $4-5 (since it comes in like a some sort of case thing, like jelly straws and there's 5 packs of them)
Certain people have their birthday the same day as christmas.I've finally found my birthday celebration,PEPERO DAY!...I'M GONNA MOVE TO KOREA:)
Mikado is made by the same company(Glico) as Pocky. While Pepero is the the competitor version from the company "Lotte Confectionery". It's sort of like Pocky is Pepsi and Pepero is Coke.
Is there some reason for having Pepero Day aside from a manufacturer making a ton of money?
OMGGG!! IM TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH THIS VIDEO!!! HAHAHA
My classes were canceled so I didn't get any from my students...but I bought a huge box that came with 8 boxes!! hehe It's one of my fav snacks!!!
@skittlesxx721 Pocky is a brand trademarked in Japan by Glico, and Pepero is a brand trademarked in Korea by Lotte Korea.
Pocky made by Glico is from Japan. But it's sold all over Asia ofc.
aww you guys are such a cute couple! this was really interesting, too. and I liked Martina's air drum skillz she got goin on ;)
@lisachanggg what? naaa there are already too many gaijins dicated to tell about life in japan, simon and martina are original not only because of their talent but also because they focus in korea

while in australia 11th of november is remembrance day. we pay respect for those who have gone to war
have you ever tried the milk flavored pepero?
I actually found Pepero in a Ralph's. I am not used to. Seeing them in a mainline non-import shop. They weren't that badly priced either.
Pepero and Pocky have two different tastes, so they aren't copied from Japan or Korea. They just look similar (btw, the original look/candy is from Europe, not Japan). Is it any different from pocky?
u guys are funny! love this video and where did u get all that delicious pocky and pepero!?
It sucks that Pocky and Pepero day both fall on Remembrance day.
You're supposed to remember and give respect to "The Glorious Dead" but at the same time, SO damn tempted to have a Pepero/Pocky party!
Faliat do both! Put some Pocky/Pepero at the menorial as a gift to honor the dead veterans
@gdragonanddanny pocky is japanese and pepero is korean. i think pepero is better because they give you more in one package. probably more than 10 or something like that... i never counted how much pepero is in one bag XD if you buy pocky, it's just 5 or 6 per bag...

Good on Pepero though. They actually managed to make a day where people should get tons of their products.
So will next year be Ultimate Pepero Day? (Being that it'll be 11/11/11.)
Martina has created the first pepero k-drama :)
what is the song you sang at 1:50 ?? EXPECTRO PATRONUM???? LOL
I feel like I could never be able to celebrate Pepero day properly...the 11th of November is Armistice Day! I'd feel bad enjoying such cute snacks on that day!
lol this video was my first eatyourkimchi video i ever watch :D memories :D
So is Pepero Day actually November 10th? If not, then what day is it?
@reeciekins It's very similar. Pepero was inspired by Pocky.
I love the almond ones SO much!
Is that consider pocky as well?
you two are cute :'D
I love the Almond one, I believe its the only version we actually have here..or maybe the normal plain chocolate ones too. Never saw the ones with chocolate inside of the stick :'D
is there any difference between pepero and pocky?

You too are just adorable.
Electrical Engineering? Pretty smart.
General Relativity? Pretty darn smart.

GEENIIIUUUSSS
You guys are so adorable!! :)
@KiraUKissable
Oh. Sorry then...
I like both, since I'm Korean but still around Japanese stuff.
They're not really the same... For the most part, anyway...
Hm...
Maybe they'll make strawberry Pepero, too...
Interesting...
it's remembrance day in australia ... lest we forget . but pepero day sounds less sombre :)

IS THAT LIKE POCKY!!??
I LOVE THAT STUFF! (especially the strawberry ones)
THAT SOUNDS LIKE MY KIND OF DAY.

Last Farewell - BigBang = WIN!
God, you guys make me laugh!
My sister's birthday is on pepero day!!!!!
i watched this and just realised that its was exactly one year ago
i mean where do u get all that delicious peperos!?
Pocky is the actual official name in English version of Pepero? I always thought it's from some kind of random Japanese's *pepero* thing. Just wondering.
I love you guys!
aw gosh how can you two be so cute (^^)~ its always refreshing watching you :3 keep it up (^^)
"I am French, I'm so hot..."
"둠 둠 치 두둠 둠 치..."
Hillarious!
I guess you could call them a brother-brand? :p As in similar product just different country and package. I've never tried Pepero so I wouldn't know on taste but Pocky's are amazing! ^^
