At 11:48 the FIR boxes show a correction. It is not flat. On mine it is dead flat when the UMIK-2 is connected to the A8. The measurement are strange as well because I have a cutoff at 10 kHz. Everything works fine when I use the UMIK-2 and my cell phone (short USB). I'll try different USB cables to better understand...it might come from the USB cable (which is an active extension cable btw, not a simple USB cable...)
It’s difficult to tell the freq adjustment on the small screen but there was some cut off on top and bottom frequencies. I’d suggest to try REW instead you can get far more information and adjustability.
Great tutorial, many thanks. I have A8 and when I make room correction through app in my phone I connect my UMIK directly to the phone. It seems to work properly and it’s much more convenient as short cable (Phone-Mic) is sufficient. You don’t have to use very long cable from your Eversolo to the position of microphone.
Are you referring to the “Delay” settings in DSP? It’s basically how far your speakers are from your seating position, the further u sit, the more delayed the sound will be output. It’s not so critical for music but you may adjust it in case your sound doesn’t sync with the picture on the screen
@@Hifihobby Hello Hifihobby, IMHO 'Delay' option lets you keep correct phase on both channels. Please notice 'Delay' option allow you set the distance, only, If, for instance, right speaker is located further from your listenig position then left one DSP will play the sound a bit earlier for the right speaker in order to keep the same phase for both channels. It doesn't allow you to set synchronization beetween sound and motion picture.
That can be a function of delay as well to adjust left right time alignment but very rare to hear this requirement. Anyway it’s there if you want to use this function
Thanks for the great videos on the A8 I am struggling between the A6 Master Edition Gen 2 (from now on just A6 in this post) and the A8. The A8 is actually a bit too wide for my shelf. Will there be a proper room correction available for the A6 as well? Would it be possible to use REW with the A6? Idea is to measure the room with REW and adjust the relevant frequencies for the bass regions (I am having a room mode at around 35 Hz) in the PEQ of the A6 Thanks for helping 😊
Hey there. There’s no DSP chip in the A6 so it can’t perform the built in Eversolo Room Correction. You can use REW with the A6 and adjust the PEQ manually. Let us know how it goes 👍🏼
Quick question, will the A8 send the "corrected" and DSP applied signal out its USB out? I'd read somewhere that you had to use the RCA out if you wanted to pass any room correction or DSP out.
I'm using a UMIK-2, the mesurment occurs correctly (I can see the curve) but the FIR filter does not apply (it is flat in my "Full Range") despite the fact that the eversolo says “success”. . Any idea or tip? Working fine with the UMIK-2 connected to my mobile... might be the USB cable length.
Using the Eversolo Room Correction brings it to flat target curve only. I’m not sure what is the error that you have, can you highlight where on the video are you stuck or having different outcome ?
Why is the DSP gain set to -5.00db? would it make a difference if RC was measured at 0.00db? It is easier to hear the difference when the volume is set to the same volume between the filter and without DSP
I would say it is useful if you have room mode problems, for my set up I will only use it for bass region only or turn off DSP altogether. The results and benefits will depend on your setup and room but no harm to try it out. Let us know the results that you get

thx for this step by step guide!!!
You’re welcome. Thanks for subscribing and watching my other videos as well.

Glad that it works that way too, thanks for sharing. I’m using iPhone so the connector is different and I couldn’t try it
Great tutorial. About the timing isnt this in the delay from the speaker distances?

@patrickadsuar8710 If you use the USB out it bypasses the room correction or DSP.
@@Hifihobby Thanks very much for confirming!

I wonder if this will ever be released for DMP A6
The A6 does not have the DSP chip that’s in the A8 and A10 so you can’t run the Eversolo Room Correction.

It is easier to hear the difference when the volume is set to the same volume between the filter and without DSP
It’s by default set as -5dB: it doesn’t make any difference to the room correction but you just need to boost the volume by 5dB
So you have to buy a mic you can’t use your phone
You can use the built in mic in your phone but its not gonna be calibrated / accurate
Thanks for the info
Was waiting for this and i had watched your previous vids on RC on the A8
Can we compare the before and after on the A8?
