    Oh my god, I hate when I discover channels in the middle of a project and I have to wait for the result. Ugg. Love the video though. At first I was worried you would sand off too much of the burnt but I love the amount you left, gives the instrument so much personality

    The YT algorithm brought me here - glad I clicked.
    I love the attitude - "have I done this before? Absolutely not, but that's what we do here"
    As you said this, I could glance over at my first super-strat guitar (from the early 90's) that I did an extensive body mod/repaint on a couple of years back. Reshaped it, added a JEM-style monkey grip and a glitter paint job.
    Plus a recent project of a friend's LP-style guitar where I tried my first headstock repair. (been under full string tension for a week or so and hasn't fallen apart yet - so Yay?)
    I was nearly screaming at the monitor for you to save the sticker, and I'm glad you did.
    That you were able to save a lot of the hardware and retain some of the patina from the fire is a bonus.
    Looking forward to part 2 - what a great addition to the story of this guitar.

      Thanks so much! And thanks for sharing your projects they sound so cool!! I’ve played a few Gibson with headstock repairs and it always blows my mind that they’re able to stand up to all that tension, especially after a break. Glad yours is holding up well!
      Also the stick was a MUST KEEP for this build haha! That thing survived a fire so there was no way I was going to be the end of it!
      Thanks so much for watching!

    I love the redemption story. The guitar will bring a story as well as sing a story by the player. I have rebuilt a number of marred, rejected, and otherwise destroyed guitars and basses for the simple joy of giving them a second chance at a song. No implying of a completely tactless pun but, if the neck is unsalvageable, considering the scorch-reliced body, seriously, the rich tinted tone of a roasted maple neck would look fitting on the rebuild, and keep with the original Fender character.

    • @nisebelle
      @nisebelle  Год назад

      I love that! I really hate the idea of instruments being thrown away or destroyed when they're damaged (had to do it a lot when I worked at a certain big box music store).
      I was also thinking about a roasted maple neck! I have one on my tele and love the way they look and play, I'll have to check with my brother to see if that's to his liking. Thanks for the suggestion!
