You have to play this fight to feel satisfied. Luckily i got to play this in my first playthrough and did not missed it. Complete satisfaction, and my wife sat through the fight enjoying watching this epic fight
Things like this never fail to reassure me that yes, that are still some game developers out there who care. I never would've guessed that a boss fight this epic, between God-like beings the size of whole countries is OPTIONAL. Like, players can miss this. You know how ballsy that is?
The original journey to the west writes an elite transform called 法天象地 which can are mastered by Wukong and Erlang. The lion here is created based on the original description in that novel.

Game Science went FULL HARD. No bullshit dlc for these "side quests"

I thought I will never get out of that realm lol.. but I beat it in the end, and finished the true ending defeating wukong again.
It’s not optional fight if you have to get the true ending. You can’t fast travel to anywhere.. if you don’t win, you stay forever lol
