The nice thing about this commander is that you can attack, place the sacrifice trigger on the stack and than use its second ability to sacrifice an artifact to generate the needed Energy. Since the Commander has Vigilance this trick works just fine.
@@bettercommanderYeah, the first ability is a triggered ability, that goes on the stack when you declare Liberty Prime as an Attacker. Therefore you can react to this trigger and activate the second ability.
@@t0qsickgaming49 Also Ghostly Prison (both believe system and prison industry) or Sphere of Safety (skyshield, need to own guns, snowflake v redneck rhetoric) there is a lot there for a USA Vorthos deck
I built him as a voltron energy artifacts with some pillow fort. Really built it to emphasize on liberty prime being the one man army hes supposed to be. Some lure and multiple blocking abilities, i think hes pretty unique
Welcome aboard brother. I have been compared to him and a dime-store Hulk Hogan, Will Arnet and I have also been compared to a diarrhea explosion, but that was just my ex-wife.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you react to your own triggered ability when he attacks with the tap ability since he has vigilance? Essentially working like this, begin combat phase>declare LP as attacker, doesnt tap because vigilance>LP combat trigger goes on the stack>in response to the triggered ability: activate the LP's ability by tapping him and paying 2 mana, sacrifice an artifact to generate 2 energy and draw a card>activate ability resolves>triggered ability now requires the payment of 2 energy or LP sacrifice which you should be able to pay now with energy>triggered ability resolves>move to blockers.
@bettercommander yeah, with that I'd probably focus more on chump artifact generators. There are a bunch that investigate at upkeep or create a token artifact creature at upkeep or combat, etc
I added some doublestrike to the deck and dayummm does Liberty Prime hit harrrd, extra attack steps are a'ight but instant doublestrike I think is where it's at because Democracy does not wait timidly in the dark but strikes like a shark from the depths of freedom, baby! Funny thing to do is to have Shaun Father of Synths on battlefield and than when you attack with Prime you get to cheat a non legendary token Prime out tapped and attacking getting around the energy cost, Myriad might be crazy also to use (Blade of Selves) ;p
One point I believe a lot of people are sleeping on when it comes to this commander is that he is his own outlet if you manage to get infinite mana, Liberty prime lets you draw your entire deck by casting and sacrificing himself over and over, wether it’s good or not I don’t know but I still think it’s a good point to bring up
Liberty Prime does have vigilance so you can attack then tap him while still attacking to pay the cost, so you can attack and generate energy in the same turn. It seems to make more sense to play an artifact sacrifice/recursion deck because Liberty Prime doesn't really need extra energy cards to function. Maybe running a few would be good but I wouldn't make it the focus. Maybe run cards like Solemn Simulacrum to get value out of sacrificing it to Liberty Prime. Some 0 mana artifact would be good to have as cheap sacrifice fodder, stuff like Mox Amber, Lotus Petal, Memnite, or Ornithopter.
Another commenter said that, that is way better than I thought. Without energy, this guy just sits there for a turn with haste. I want that dude swinging in turn 4 ideally (or 5)
@@bettercommander Yeah I mean if you get lucky with some ramp it's 100% possible to have him out and attacking as early as turn 2. Best case scenario you play Sol Ring and Arcane Signet on turn 1, then on turn 2 if you hit your land drops you're ready to play him, and ready to attack if you also have Mana Crypt. Realistically speaking probably won't have a turn 2 play like that very often but I can see turn 3 or 4 plays being pretty common with this 8/8 commander, especially if you're running a lot of 1 and 0 mana artifacts.
The best part is it’s Jeskai colors with blue and white protection spells. He reminds me of Megatron Destructive Tyrant because it’s an artifact commander which fall victims to destroy artifact spells easily or Aura Shards!
Love how MTG hate that Who, LOTR and universes are mixing in MTG...as if its some how different from playing a Creature from Innistraad, an artifact from Kaldesh and a land from ravnica? MTG has ALWAYS been about different worlds coming together in a deck. We are planeswalkers pulling things from different planes, that has always been the canon.
This is a gross and disgusting misunderstanding of why people take umbrage with IPs outside of anything original to MTG being added to the game. Not wanting your game to become Fortnite is valid.
Well, hold on dudes. Both opinions are valid, because they are opinions. OP makes a decent point, I tend to lean in that direction with my decks as well, but I also see why people are grossed out when the external image of the game becomes something that's not totally congruent with their image of what the game was, and maybe should be. Some of the cards are distasteful to me, especially when the art is "bad", but they are still part of the game so we roll with it. Edify each other on why you think your opinion is valid. Pretend you're both playing mtg and eating saltines together in Brotherhood.
this deck is much better if you don't use any of these terrible energy cards except gonti's aether heart, just put a bunch of cherrios you can sacrifice to feed it or make servo tokens, equip it with assault suit so it can't be sacrificed
Im super late but you can Swing with Prime do the pay 2 to sacrifice a artifact and sack a junk token since they count as artifacts alot of the fallout cards make these junk tokens
Second time watchin dunno how I missed that beautiful trip reference lol take a sip of orange juice and breath brother advice of a man who’s been there recognized by a man who’s Been there

Interesting thanks I was wondering how somebody kept attacking with him when watching liberty prime used in gameplay
Huh, I wasn't sure that would work. If it does, that's really good tech. Even better with the extra combat creatures and spells.

Was about comment the same with a HOLD ON BROTHER
Walp, hold on dude.
I'm going a slightly different route with my build to make it a truly American deck: energy and taxes
I added propaganda as a joke but now that I saw your comment it makes sense 😂

Is this guy the Babish of commander decks? that smooth voice and chill musical vibes... im into it.

Yeah, I did not realize you could do that.
I mean, I was testing you guys. You PASSED!

Vigilance trample haste is crazy when combined together
Very true. My favorite is Deathtouch and Menace!

He can sac himself and has haste. Don't need infinite untaps...just infinite mana
Haha, I agree with you on the thumbnail thing. Also yes Liberty Prime can be viable. It's not easy, but can be fun if built -very-right

Just don't put anime on the VHS, that never works out well.
Yes
Any commander is viable, especially one printed in 2024. Maybe try a vid on a commander that might actually be hard to build?
Liberty Prime Vs One Dinosaur with the flu... the Dinosaur wins.
