    Beautiful guitar! I am currently in the process of trying out this same exact model and a classic myself. I’m leaning more towards this one so far. I already own a Gibson Less Paul Studio. I love it.

    Congratulations on that beauty. I myself have two LP that I enjoy playing and looking at them. A 1995 premium plus classic with a great flame top and my baby a 1998 R9 with the most beautiful killer monster flame top thats all over on the front of that guitar. Love these works of art.

    I’m torn between the 50’s and 60’s neck. Normally play thinner neck guitars, but the 50’s standard LP Heritage Cherry Sunburst is sweet and feels good! Looking for an ATM. In 2 weeks this guitar is getting signed by Ace Frehley in New Haven, Connecticut. Kiss fan since mid 70’s. Good to see Gibson putting out good stuff again!
    Enjoyed the video!

    I went with the 50s AAA top. Beautiful finish. Love a thick les paul neck, can't stand those thin pencil necks on 60s Paul's. They were offering a $400 price reduction for a limited time which is why I bought it for $2499 instead of $2899. I won't buy a Gibson with their light colored rosewood boards. A Gibson should have dark rosewood always! This 50s has the dark rosewood l Iike a les paul should. If you're buying a Gibson with light colored rosewood fingerboard you're being ripped off.

    I recently bought the AAA 50’s Cherry burst. Love it. Hell, even love just looking at it. One thing I have noticed. All the AAA tops come in cases with the big clasps. I knew yours was a AAA as soon as I saw the case clasps. Great demo. Thank’s. Oh, I also bought the P-90 pickup 50’s Gold Top a couple weeks back, and as with yours all these fretboards need lubricant. They come from Gibson very dry. Again, thanks.

    • @TimMilliken
      @TimMilliken 2 года назад

      The fretboard on my 50s gold top was absolutely bone dry. Maybe that helps with the build but people should know what to do. I use Music Nomad fretboard conditioner and that really puts the moisture into the wood. It has such a drastic effect that the wood grain in the fingerboard actually expands to a rough surface. Not sure if that makes sense unless you experience it. Anyway I carefully knocked it smooth with some high grit sandpaper and steel wool. It’s now one of the nicest fretboards I’ve owned on par with my prs custom. The pleck fretwork and the rest of the guitar are outstanding.

    I randomly found your channel back in its infancy and I've been a subscriber ever since. During that time I think your playing has improved dramatically. So keep doing whatever it is you're doing because it's obviously working 🤘. Btw, I have that same guitar except mines a goldtop w natural back and sides. Still has the same BB 1&2 although the 50's Goldtop version is the only one that gives you the option to have P-90's instead of the BB's. I already have a pair of P-90's in my SG Special so I went with the BB's... and very happy I did. Cheers brother!

    What a beauty !, good way to start off the new year. Don't you just love the smell of a brand new Gibson Les Paul?, I was hoping you might bust into some Firehouse by KISS, with smoke, lights and pyros of course. Are you getting ready for a bigger room yet, I can forsee a lot more guitars in your future. That guitar surely grew from its infant stage that it was in the case last month, what have you been feeding it?

    • @onemoreguitarchannel
      @onemoreguitarchannel  2 года назад +2

      Man that would have been a good one, I dig Firehouse! Yeah it smells like a mixture of vanilla and wood, really freshens up the place haha! I really am looking at trying to get a bigger place, maybe someday soon. In the meantime I had to let a few go to make space and get funds for more but that’s probably a good thing haha.

    Interesting - I bought one of these, and it's also heavy in the rear end, which makes the balance a bit iffy when sitting down, more so than my other LPs.

      That’s really my only complaint with that guitar. I love it but if I’m going to be sitting down to play I grab something else usually. It sounds great though.

  • @jfiery
    @jfiery 2 года назад +2

    Congrats! I've been meaning to ask someone who just got one if you lowered the pickups or if they came that way from factory? My 60s came with them almost right up against the strings. I've now got the neck down almost flush with the ring and the bridge halfway and noticed almost all the vids I see they are way lower than how mine came. I love the guitar but never understood why they'd set them that high.
    It was interesting to see your pickup readings. The 61BB are supposed to be hotter I thought with the Alnico V magnets but my neck is 7.43 and bridge is 7.42. Pickguard on as well. Nice video.

    • @onemoreguitarchannel
      @onemoreguitarchannel  2 года назад +3

      Thanks! The pickups came this way but I bought it in a store, they could have messed with them but I doubt it. I have a friend who just got a 60s, I’ll check with him too. If he says they were high I’ll let you know. I heard the 60s pickups were hotter too, interesting!

      @@onemoreguitarchannel thanks. Mine were maybe 2/16 from the strings. Must've been closing time and they tossed them in and that was enough. It is my 1st Gibson and when I plugged it in it was so ice picky I thought I was going to have to send it back. Haha. Easy fix though. Thanks for the effort, it earned a Sub. Looking forward to more of your content. Happy New Year.

    • @TimMilliken
      @TimMilliken 2 года назад +1

      I’ve always adjusted pickup height on every guitar I’ve owned. I think it’s really a preference thing but Gibson might have a standard speck they don’t actually get right at the build. I know fender does but they’re always off. It’s really easy to play and experiment with the height to find what you like.

    Had the sixties and I couldn't wait to get rid of it. 61r 61t pickups totally suck. The fifties was probably a better option but I hate burstbuckers. Still can't find or play a Les Paul that's better than my 56 reissue with P90s. As for the color of your guitar it seems borderline clownburst to me? Kinda pink. As long as your happy.
