it looked intimidating to me
Honestly, Deltarune has similar yet completely different vibes to Undertale, so seeing sans chilling like he does just feels so quaint.
and yet in chapter 1 if you bring up the fact you met him before he reacts appropriately suspicious.
my theory is theres a multiverse that both deltarune and undertale exist in. all incredibly similar, all incredibly distinct.
im betting theres a bigger connection to undertale that has yet to be revealed. why reuse these characters and not change them beyond profession and the fact the war never happened?
this feels like it's the termina to undertales hyrule. and i think that's on purpose.

I love how flat and awkward asgore and sans convo is, like sans is always in a jokey mood with everyone else, but even tho they're both trying to make conversation, sans's jokes fall flat and asgores mood just brings everything down despite himself, like they have no chemistry at all, its great.
In a nutshell their convos usually turnout:
Asgore: oh ho ho my wife left me.
Sans: (don't care didn't ask get outta my store) ah really? Yeah sounds like something you should *talk to someone else* bout.
It’s even more awkward when you remember sans made a joke about banging his ex wife the previous day lmao

I have three theories/headcanon about Papyrus:
1) Papyrus is in some elaborate plan for solving this town's mysteries(like Dess's disappearance)(like Sans in UT who seems being aware of the anomaly and in some important role(if you believe about tge "royal jugde" thing veing serious) but Papyrus is just a very Special Guy Who Despite Not Knowing Everything He Helped Everyone(tm), here's the situation is kinda swapped)
2) He is the Knight and this may or may not afflict his social skills and state
3) He is just a normal guy(perhaps friend of Asriel in the college but he got kicked out and now he is sad about it)
