The pouring medium is the secret!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! I’ve seen many dot paintings but yours are the only ones that made me want to try myself, your stuff is gorgeous!
What does the pouring medium do with the paint? Just out of curiosity 👀
@@andreaecheverria6953From her commentary, it seems like it thins the paint so there are less peaks in the paint. ^^
@Regalia so can u do it without the pouring medium? Like with thinner paints
@@NiiivoI think it’s more so up to preference. If you enjoy how it looks without pouring medium, go for it. Another reason for using the pouring medium could be to not have the paint dry out as fast, but it might not be a huge concern if you do this occasionally, rather than commissions on a regular basis.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I was stuck on the RIGHT consistency of my paint until you set me straight!! Yeah YOU!!!
This was the most helpful video I’ve watched on consistency. Thank you so much.
Your mandalas are stunning! Tip: If you don't have lids for your containers, place them on a tray and cover them with Glad Press N Seal. Will act like a lid and keeps your paints wet for a long time.
I had commented on a previous video about wanting to know what kind of paint you use and then I went tiptoeing through your playlist and found it. Thank you for this tutorial because I used the pre-mixed acrylic paints that you get in the craft store and a lot of times they're very watery they don't always work very well for dot Painting. I mean I've done a few vinyls with it and they've turned out well but some of them not so much and I liked the creamy paint I saw you using😊
Same! I started with all her shorts. I'd try dot art in the past, but my basic acrylics always cracked and dried weird. Very glad she's got a paint tutorial on here too.
I appreciate that you have some beginner tutorials!
Thank you so much for all the information pertaining to mandala dot painting. This is the best and most informative video that I've seen. Thank you again.
This was an excellent lesson. Thank you Andrea
Thanks so much for this! I was also stuck on the right consistency of paint.
I love that you have this video. In your others when you show dipping the tool into the paint it looks like luscious melty ice cream and I wondered what paint you used to get it so nice and keep a raised dot. This video answered so many questions. Thank you.
You are so welcome! So happy to hear it was helpful!
I know im asking randomly but does someone know of a method to get back into an Instagram account..?
I was stupid forgot my account password. I would love any tricks you can give me
@Brixton Christian instablaster ;)
This is genious !! It's revolution for acrilic
Thankyou soo much it's my first time using pouring medium and your video really helped cheers 😊😊
Thank you so much for your help. Now I can try to make one.
That was very helpful thank you so much!
Could you use pouring acrylic paints instead of heavy body ones mixed with pouring medium?
Thank you for sharing your skill and techniques. I enjoy watching your videos and following along with your tutorials. I’ve tried the hard bodied acrylics and really like the bold colors. I also made sure to purchase the opaque colors, but notice that my yellow and orange colors are not as opaque as yours. Would you please share the variety of Liquitex color names used in this video? Thanks so much!!
I had wondered when watching clips if they used just straight acrylic paint. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing and educating us❣️❣️❣️
Awesome Video! Thanks so much for sharing!
Hi Andrea, thanks for posting this! I’ve often wondered how to get those luscious smooth, rounded dots I’m aiming for. Are top dots ok with them this way? Can you tell me about the Golden brand paints that are added for color boost? Thank you.
Thank u for the very helpful tips.. u answered my questions about mixing the paint And what types of paint to use better than google did.. thank u
Beatiful tips.
❤ I love your tutorials. Thanks and grettins fron Spain!!!
You are so welcome!
Hello, I'm following you from Belgium. I love your art and your creations. I 'm very impressed. I'd like to try it, I think it would be very good to do that to helping me to relax because I'm very depressive, and this art would be very curative for me. But, could you say me, what kind of liquitex you're using to add in the acrylics paints. Thank you . Sorry for my mistakes in english 😊
Hi Andrea - Have you tried storing the poured acrylics in the freezer to slow the cure rate?
I’ve done this forever with wet interior brushes / rollers. The same wet brush that will cure and be ruined if left out 45 minutes on a warm day… by wrapping in foil or clingwrap and freezing, a day or two later I can pull out - it’s still wet and ready for painting.
This is so helpful!! Thank you!!
Love ❤️ your turtle it’s so cute. Where did you buy the mold?
Thank you so much! What are your thoughts on DecoArt Americana Multi-Surface paints? Have you used them? I'm wanting to dot on different items glass, canvas, stones etc. Thoughts? TYIA! 😁
Thank you for the Video and explanations. With the Medium does thé colour not looses to much of it's pigmentation ?
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Wao amazing 👏
Excellent video! Thankyou
I'm still new to dot art, but can you use pouring medium in the DecoArt Americana Enamels? Do you know if that will alter it if baking for glass? Thanks for your help!
Hello I am Italian and I follow you because you are very good, I can kindly ask you the two glues that you use exactly what they are? would you also realize some Christmas sphere? thank you if you consider me.

@@DelicateDotsAndrea Thank you so much for answering me
So you use all acrylic paints? And do you always use paint in the tube?
Thanks to the moon and back 🌕🌕🌕
Can I use mod poge instead of the medium
Hi Andrea, I'm Danny from Berlin, thanks for your great help.
What is the first color to be mixed before the poure medium is added, is the liquitex heavy white color?
Thanku Your Information very Gud 👍💐
I've tried a couple things now but the paints I use always seem to dry very flat regardless of how much paint is put on there. I've tried to fix this by letting the layers dry but obviously it'd be nicer if it could hold it's shape from the beginning. Is it down to the paint used here? I feel like heavy duty suggests it might be thicker on a molecular level hence holding it's shape better but I'm not sure.
If you think it needs to be thicker... I've read you can use a fluid gel medium.... Liquitex makes one. Having said that.... I am NOT a paint expert.... and have no experience using the gel. But I heard this advice on a YT video specifically for paint dotting.
Does this sort of paint stay put if you have the stones outside during the winter? There’s a lot of snow in my country, does the stones stay pretty in subzero temperatures?
Hello
May i know what is the white liquid that u add to the paint ?
And what it was foe?
How do u store your paint for a long time? ❤
What is the pouring medium? Where do you buy from? I live in Spain and I don’t know what name I ask in here.
Love your work and your tutorial... question... i have been having an issue with white charcoal pencil. They brake whenever i sharpen them. I have purchased many different type of sharpeners but they always brake. Do you know why or can you recommend one? Let me know. Thank you.
I have the same issue. I even bought an art pencil sharpener. I have actually recently switched to water color pencils and they work so much better. No chalky residue and it won’t deform your dots. Easier to sharpen as well.
@@DelicateDotsAndrea Thank you. where do you purchase yours?
@@DelicateDotsAndrea .
I recently bought paint that was "stringy" or was string consistency bcuz it wasn't as expensive. If I add that to it will it chance the consistency so that I can save it? I love the color and was disappointed. I think it was the brand or something. I never used that kind and it ended up being weird and the paint dragged when I did my dots. I just bought new paint a couple nights ago and I'm very excited to use it. I also picked up some remover for brushes. Do you mix remover with water or use it as is? I know you probably don't use it on dotting tools but I was thinking it might help me get the paint off those too
I add pouring medium to some of my metallic paint that is stringy and it works. Also when using stringy paint go slow and pick your tool straight up and let that string fall back into the center of the dot. That will prevent the tails.
Your medium, what is it?? I wish i knew if you make it or buy it already ready to add to paint. My paint is always to thick and I dont know anyone who knows
Thank you ❤️. Could you tell me how you avoid bubbles in your paint after mixing?
Mix water instead of medium pouring
Another paint dotting artist uses a personal muscle massage tool to gently vibrate the bottom of the paint tray... to get the bubbles to rise to the surface. Then she may have to pop some with a tooth pick.
@@Sonia-g1wThis advice is actually true. Water is better for dotting and for your wallet.
Thank you for sharing your expertise! Can you use heavy body acrylics to do dot mandala on wine bottles? TIA.
I have mont marte acrylic colors...after adding pouring medium within 5 min it gets dried ...it becomes hard for me to use paint for dot mandala...so any solution for this
tHANKS FOR OLL.
💜🙏🏻
Thank you so much.
Always welcome
How long will this paint last in these little cups? (A few days) You just put wrap on the top? If you the paint to last longer what would you put it in? I’ve been mixing in the mixing trays but then the leftover always dries out so quickly with the pouring medium added.
I also had this issue so I bought empty paint pots or you can get small air tight containers, I hope that might help.
What do you add in these acrylic colors???
Can u share the link pls
It’s the Liquitex Pouring Medium
Do you use matte or gloss pouring medium?
Why do you use pouring medium instead of water?

Sorry, I accidentally clicked thumbs down before clicking thumbs up! It said feedback sent to you... but was just my tired butter fingers lol
I’ve you click “the thumbs down” button again then it is gone 😉
@@jill7717 yep. I immediately clicked to thumbs up after thumbs downing. I only commented because it popped up a notice that said feedback sent when I hit downvote and didn’t want the creator to think it was intentional.
@@JustQuixaThat is very cute and nice of you. It's not actually going to send a notification to the creator, it only says that for you. They only see how many downvotes a video has as a whole
@@HyperManic1000 Oh good! That's good to know, thanks. 😄
Can you please send the picture of the pouring mideum bottle?
Thanks
Its Liquitex Pouring Medium
Thank you so much! Very helpful!
So if you wanted thinner paint, why start with a thick body paint? I’m sorry I don’t understand.
What this white that you add to colors ?
Pouring medium
Ciao posso sapere cos'è il liquido bianco che metti nei colori? Grazie
Liquidtex pouring medium.
Cos'è quello che aggiungi al colore?
Thank you so much for sharing this. I’m a newbie and literally had no idea!!
You are so welcome! So glad you found it helpful!
I have been struggling trying to get the right thinness. I always think i am adding to much pouring to it but now i know i wasnt lol
It takes some practice and some like their paint thicker or thinner. Its all about figuring out what works best for you and the surface you are painting on.
Hi Andrea, got a question here. While i am adding the pouring medium, the colours are becoming pale when i try to dot with them. I am using liquitex pouring medium and liquitex basic colours.
Same... my paint seems to becoming transparent.... but I seem to have to add a lot of fluid medium to get the paint the right consistency for dotting. Did you find a fix??? Or a better fluid medium???
I dont have pouring medium in my country
So can i use the glue with water And what is the percentage
I am using fevicryl paint
Another commenter suggests using water instead of a pouring medium. I'd suggest you use distilled water to avoid any contamination.
Instead of using medium pouring use water and see the results
Alguém poderia me ajudar
What do you need to help?
Why only canvas is used for dot arts???
