I think a decent twist would be if the movie doesn't actually focus on whether or not Josh's character is the The Butcher but rather if he'll let himself be outed by this whole thing.
Here me out, Statistically with all those people trapped in the Stadium there would realistically be more then one the one Serial Killer and what if as the film goes on all these killer start to not only notice one another but they also try to out one another- Basically either try to blow the lid on one another but then it escalates to these Serial Killer trying to silence one another before they're outed-
This could spiral into a lovely twist where "The Butcher" is hinted to be one of these people caught in this whole Killer bloodbath but the main focus will actually be why Josh gets wrapoed up in this Serial Killer battle to the death- And the twist itself would be that he's a Dexter like Serial Killer who only kills Killer, would be kinda ironic if he wants to give the life up but this night iut with his daughter reminds him just as much why he even started down this path in the first place.
(This development throughput the film would blur the lines and muddy the waters quite a bit as on ine hand he wants to out this life behind him for his daughter's sake but on the other hand to have him start in the forst place because of a Serial Killer trying to make his daughter one of their victims would be insane-).
Like what if they are looking for Josh but only because he killed the original Butcher and then unintentionally adopted the moniker and its name, so from the authorities perspective they they still think it's the same guy or just that the Butcher is his either days was one of many covers and for some reason they suspect that Josh is the real Butcher-
(Meaning they dont know who he is but they are looking for him specifically necause of his last deeds they just don't know who it's all tied to yet and set this trap up in hopes of not only caughting but finally bringing to light who this natorious Butcher even is).
Another great twist would be if it somehow turns out that the dad or even the daughter called in the anonymous tip, that helped set this trap up in the first place, this along with the twist that the public version doesn't actually exist as an actual Serial Killer would add to the depth of this insanity (I get it would be more of a book version and that the possibility of the daughter not only knowing but also being the tip/leak wouldn't exactly be something a traditional audience would be okay with plot wise but non the less it would at to whole Shyamalan twist like nature if his movies without killing the movie dead ojbarrive with a stupid supernatural twist).
Hell a compromise to that twist above that I mentioned woukd be if the Dad made up the Serial Killer identity of this "Butcher" and maybe it turns out the fake killer identity is either based of a certain killer of copycat killer that he has already taken care of- Or even better someone he finally has the opportunity to take out because this person let's their ego get the better of them and tries to lay claim to all this fake Seriak Killer fame.
Wonder what the film is going to be rated.

I LOVE MNS. He is my favorite Director... I'm so hype for Trap (this is first "original" movie since The Visit - because Split and Glass are sequels). I made some cast research on Imdb, and imo, Josh Harnett is the father (we don't know his name), and his daughter is playing by this young unfamous actrees : Cali Lorella, and I think her name is Jody, because the actrees Marnie McPhail play "Jody's mother". I think Harnett character's and the mother are separated (it possibly explains why they go at this concert without the mum). And Hayley Mills play "Doctor Grant", so (SPOILERS), if Harnetts is the killer, maybe this doctor is a psycologist that know his dark side (a bit like Split with the Doctor and Kevin). Honestly I cannot wait for this. Long live to MNS and the cinema.
