@@BossTycoonAOE it's frustrating because I saw the stable and didn't immediately respond with a barracks! Gotta react to what you see. 2 or 3 spears and I get to keep up the pressure at the front.
You're a good player man, really. Your micro is good but you just need better strategy. If you really want to get conq I think you need to slow down first. Also, I know you said you like to play aggressive, but the way you win most games is by getting eco advantages. It would be really good to change your main build to a fast castle with king's palace. It's suuuper powerful and it scales almost any build in the game. The main purpose of making an army is to get map control or do damage to enemy economy. With early longbows, there's no point in getting map control so early, and it's hard to kill vils because you're easily countered by horsemen. I would really focus on 1) going fast castle, and then 2) setting up a defense at your base only if you need to. Also, you neeeeeeed to start going for the abbey of kings. You get a FREE knight which can defend against literally anything in feudal. That's how I end up getting to castle so easily because I can defend (or add pressure) with that knight.
Thanks for thr compliments! My micro is getting much better in the last week or so for sure. Agreed on your point about aggression, especially as English. I've wanted to play aggressive feudal in the last several games specifically to get reps in on that strategy and play style. I admit fully that in terms of strategy in specific civ matchups, I've got a hard time and a long road of learning ahead. I actually almost always go Abbey, check out a few other games if you've got some time and let me know what you think about those builds, I'm really curious. Yesterdays against Rus was an interesting one. Interesting idea to go go fast castle with the Palace. I've tried this before but ONLY against OTD. I'll give it a shot in a couple of upcoming games against other civs, cool idea. Really appreciate your keen eye and thoughtful comments here. Thanks for the support!
@@calabbo6370 About a year with AoE4, really off and on, just casually getting games against AI. Started getting serious in ranked about3 months ago and started this channel in Dec. to get some advice on things. I haven't really played any kind of competitive RTS until now. It's a lot to get under your fingers but I just love this game so much.
@@reading_books_aoe4 That makes a lot of sense. When you're new to RTS it feels really fast and you get flustered with learning the mechanics and technical play, but it's all about strategy, counterstrategy, and positioning. Micro only gets you marginal advantages even in higher levels so you're much better off using brain power for other things until they're second nature.
@@oluwatosinoseni7839 For sure! I've been back for a few games here. Feeling like this time I'm more prepared for a longer and deeper run through Plat! Appreciate you've been with the series for so long!!
The houses 🤣 really good game!
Losing your archers to a couple cavs is so frustrating xD I feel the pain haha
