13-14 days itinerary I have shared in the video Rupam bhai.. you can adjust days of travel in between and post a draft here for a review.. I would be happy to share my inputs around it
You are a boon for Ladakh travellers, thanks. This itinerary is for the most energetic people, very tight. In practical terms, you really cannot cover this much.
Thank you Sunil ji.. well, of course it involves every day travel with due to lack of leaves practically this is completely possible and lot of people do follow it.. but yes if you want to soak in and have much relaxed trip then you should add more days in it
Sirji, you truly have an entire encyclopaedia of Information about Leh & Ladakh.. Ek trip Aap ke saath zaroor karna chahunga from Mumbai.. Kindly oblige.... 🙏

Very Gud job bro. U r way of explaining is very gud. I m planning to visit Leh Ladakh starting frm Ambala on 1st week of Sep 2023. Thx for all the info. Subscribed u. 😊
A milestone for planning Leh trip... Many myths broken...also advise which place need to be booked in advance for stay... And which are the place where staying options need not be bothered about... Once again Dheeraj ji...many many thanks for sharing ur valuable information....i m sure ...it will be of tremendous help to us .. 🙏🙏

Hello. I would like to visit Leh, Hanle and Tso Moriri. Do please advise in which month one should make this trip. What month can one see birds including black neck crane. Thanking you.
I am sorry about the bird watching but otherwise if snow if your preference then better visit May otherwise September second half is a good time to visit Ladakh.
Thanks for the effort you putting bro.. But I have one question bro.. What is route for going to UMLING LA PASS from pangong.. Also from hanle village?
Aswini bhai, From Pangong Lake take the route towards Chusul - Tsaga La to reach Hanle. Then from Hanle you can either plan a day visit to Umling La Pass or Hanle to Umling La Pass then by evening to Tso Moriri. You can check this video of Umling La Pass Guide: ruclips.net/video/_7Lv5prOTDk/видео.html
@discoverwithdheeraj I used to trek to bandarpoonch and Tibet border during the 80's and 90's to see snow leopards. I also helped the ITBP set up base camp
@discoverwithdheeraj oh yes I miss those. I never left trash behind in fact we never carried any. Just a sleeping bag and a small rucksack once we got the experience. No tent, no water and managed with halazone tablets. With elephant chasing and smashing my cycle in moti chur jungle to going without food for two days at kirti glacier.
Mr. Dheeraj Bai… Very useful information and very good information all around the Leh trip… Last year I went the same itenery from Delhi to Delhi the same with Siachen and Pangong … Thanks for your updates …..🙏

Extremely helpful video and information. I have two questions.... 1. For planning this entire trip, do I need to make two sets of cab booking ? a. Booking 1: Book a cab from Srinagar to Leh to be covered in 2 days. Should I use this Srinagar cab to add suru valley for another 2 days (i.e. total 4 days from srinagar to leh)? b. Booking 2: Book another cab from Leh to cover leh sighteeing, nubra, turtuk, pangong, tsomoriri (6 days) and manali drop (2 days) for total 8 days 2. What kind of vehicle should I book for a family of three (2 adult, 1 child 10 yr) ?
Hey Prinyanko.. thanks.. well you can call. Ladakh based taxi driver who can come and pick you up at Srinagar and do all the sightseeing including Suru and then drop you at Manali.. My blog has list of many taxi drivers, Chamba on #1 is best 2. Go for Innova for best comfort
A very informative video. Thanks Dhheraj for a wonderful commentary. One question? I am also a vegetarian so which place in Leh and Hundar i can have my meals?
Thank you, well if you are asking for vegetarian food, you will get that in many places but if you talking about 100% pure vegetarian restaurant then I know about Neha Snacks in Leh but other places do serve non-veg along with veg food too.
Very well explained . You should also have explained the perfect season to see snow fall or full snow capped mountains. You should also have explained the risks involved and most probable problems one may face. I am planning to do the tour by my SantaFe SUV in the month of May 24 with family . 10 years ago when I did this tour on bike , I missed "so morri " lake for example and many others as you explained I began to realize.
Hello Gopal bhai.. thank you so much.. all these topics are covered in the playlist in which this video is part of, you can refer them.. like 9 mistakes to avoid, best time for ladakh trip, winter ladakh trip, etc..

This was thoroughly and genuinely explained. This channel seems to be not much appreciated or promoted. Content is great! Kudos Dheeraj. Actually we 3 friends, all almost sixty are planning to leave from Jammu on the 8th. Fitness decent, one is diabetic all in control though. All amateur passionate photographers. 1st time in Ladhak - possible for us to take the plunge? And is there a relaxed curtailed itinerary we can do instead? Kindly recommend of possible. Can we reach you on ohone or email.?
Hello sir.. thank you and yeah unfortunately channel somehow not getting the audience it deserves, may be masala is lacking or topic is to niche and monotonous for regular subscribers! Anyways, enough rant.. Sir, I've been following your channel for the last one yr. I had a plan to visit lay Ladakh in oct . But not happen. But our plan is to start 3rd week of May 2025. our plan will be like below day 1 Sonmarg to kargil day 2 Kargil to leh day 3 Leh sightseeing day 4 Leh to Nubra day 5 Nubra to Siachen and back or Nubra to Turtuk and back day 6 Nubra to pangong day 7 Pangong to hanle day 8 Hanle to umlingla and back to hanle day 9 Hanle to Tso moriri day 10 Moriri to sarchu day 11 Sarchu to manali We are traveling with an 8-year child and 2 adults. My questions are as below 1. Is our itinerary ok? 2. If not where do I need to modify that? 3. Do we require a break in the middle of our journey? 4. Which one is better ? Siachen or Turtuk? 5. Need your expert comment. 6. What preparation do we need to do?
dost here are replies.. 1. itinerary is good 2. no changes needed 3. your itinerary is balanced.. rest days are never enough but based on days in hand may be at the end of the trip in manali 4. I will go with Turtuk side 5. shared input 6. check clothing video
1. Leh-Nubra-Pangong-Turtuk-Siachen-Leh 2. Leh-Hanle-Umlingla-leh 3. Leh-Tso moriri-Tsokar-pang-Sarchu-Jispa-keylong-manali. Sir is this planning good?
Following ur you tube informations since long. Your informations are very very useful. i want to plan a trip to Leh in august 2024. is it the right time time to travel.
Really Great Informative Video. I have one doubt. If we are group of 6-8 members and we want to rent the bike, then we can not follow this route. We need to return the rented bike to the source which will be Jammu/Patnitop, most probably.

Hello Dheeraj Sir, How can we include Umling La & Hanle in the itinerary mentioned in the video. How many days extra will be required? Thanks in Advance.
This is how people usually plan: Day 1 | Leh Rest day Day 2 | Leh to Diskit/Hunder in Nubra Day 3 | Turtuk Day Trip (Optional) Day 4 | Diskit/Hunder to Pangong Lake Day 5 | Pangong Lake to Hanle Day 6 | Umling La Day trip from Hanle Day 7 | Hanle to Tso Moriri Day 8 | Tso Moriri to Sarchu/Leh

Very informative video… please guide . Planning our second trip to Leh Ladakh. Nubra and pangong done. I plan tso Moriri and Hanle this time . How should I plan . Is it safe for kids ? My daughter is 4 . She was perfectly good till pangong.
Sir i have planned my trip almost exactly based on your video. I'm starting from Delhi on 21st may and have a target to reach back on 5th june. Do let me know if any tips or things i need be prepared for.
Hi Dheeraj, your videos are very informative. I need your suggestions on the following 1. Can we travel to tso moriri directly from Pangong or we need to come back to Leh to acclimitize? 2. And Can we travel to jispa directly from tso moriri or we need to come to leh to acclimatise? 3. Is it ok if I do pangong to tsomoriri n halt in tso moriri for a night and then tso moriri to jispa? Please reply asap. I would be grateful 4. Do I need to come to leh each time to acclimatise?
Hello Archana, thanks and here are my inputs: 1. You can travel directly to Tso Moriri via Chusul route. I will advice you to stay at Hanle for a night to break the journey. Only if you had difficulty or AMS symptoms at Pangong, then it is not adviced to travel to Tso Moriri as Tso Moriri is higher than Pangong. 2. Jispa is lower in altitude so Tso Moriri to Jispa can be done. 3. You should be OK but like I said, if you can add a day to rest at Hanle in between, it will be great. 4. You do not need to come to Leh
Since 2021 end of season, Indian do not need any permit anymore in Ladakh for regular sightseeing. You just need to pay the Ladakh Environment Fee on the website and carry the receipt of it. Here is the link where you need to pay it: www.lahdclehpermit.in/register-as-domestic Current Ladakh environment fees are broken down as following: 1. Environment Fee = Rs 400 one time 2. Wildlife Fee/Something = Rs 20 per day 3. Red Cross Fee = Rs 50 one time but Optional, you don’t need to pay if you don’t want to. DO NOT confuse environment fee receipt with permit. You just need to carry this fee receipt, hard copy or soft copy. This receipt will be checked at various checkposts. Hence, people are confusing it with permit but this is just verification that you have paid the fees.

Hi. First of all thank you for the video it is very informative. My Q is, Do we get a two wheeler which we can pick up from Srinagar and drop at Ladakh ?
No, you dont get such for as hired mode.. there are rental bikes that are available in Srinagar which you yourself can ride but dropping them in Srinagar will help cost you a lot
where do I rent the Honda CB 350 and Triumph Speed 400 for the Leh trip this June? Need 2 of each I've trying to find one, but couldn't so far... please help!!!
For bike rental you can check with Bike Rentals Manali or (instagram - @brmexpeditions ) BRM Expeditions or Big Bike Rentals (instagram - @bigbikerentals ), where you can connect with Abhinav at +91 98 16 044140 or Anurag +91 82196 60572.
Hi Sir , I am watching your videos and yes i always love it. I am actually planning a trip from ahmedatabad to Leh ladak by celario car (i will drive it by own) so i am confused if sep will be best or oct ? I am afraid about snow fall but people saying if we select sep end then road condition will be good and evry less chance of landslides. so can you help me for this please
Sir 1.magnetic hill bhi milega kya 2.agar single person ko leh to manali tour Krna ho to kaise hoga 3.Bike aur vehicals me kaun sa better and safe hoga, most important ye hai ki package lene phle booking krni hogi to aajkal fraod bhi bahut hote hai to koi travellers jo cheapest and best package de de,kya srinagar se bike hier krke manali drop kar skte hai aur bike se visit krne me aur log sath rahenge ki akele krna padega iske sath me guide bhi hote hai kya mera question lamba hai iske liye sorry 🙏 pahli bar man me kyi sari querries hoti hai
Dost, neeche mere answers diye hua hain: 1. Magnetic hill aapko is itinerary mein Day 3 par Kargil se Leh jaate hue milega 2. aap solo travel k liye mera ye wala video dekhein 3. aap agar solo travel kar rahe hain to aap shared taxi lekar Srinagar se Leh pahunche ya fer buses k jariye.. videos hain isi playlist mein. Jab Leh pahunch jaaoge to fer wahan local sightseeing k liye leh ki local rental shop se bike rent karlena.. booking wahin jaakar bhi kar sakte ho
Very informative, one clarification: how are the road condition to drive a car. Are there steep/ sharp dangerous turn. I am planning in My June as suggested by u via Jammu Srinagar route
Thank you, Nitin bhai.. well roads have improved a lot in the last few years now.. But yes around the passes there are some steep sections surely. If you drive carefully and cautiously, it shall be OK in general. Check my other videos on self-drive trip to Ladakh.
Thank you for your informative vlog. Need your advice. Are road and weather conditions suitable in early April for doing a road journey between Jammu to Leh-Ladakh and down via Manali back to Delhi. Have to be in Ladakh in mid-April to see the Apricot blossoms in Sham Valley. Trip planned in own SUV (petrol, automatic, front wheel drive, fully loaded with 4 persons and their baggage). Some have told me that certain passes (Zojila?) could be un-motorable due to snow or slush. But I want second opinion. Many thanks.
No Sanjeev, you cannot travel in April.. this year as well even though Srinagar Leh highway was cleared in April but it took well into May to stabilize and open for one-way.. it was well towards end of May highway was opened for two way traffic and Manali Leh got opened for one way traffic around third week of May.. so April is something you should surely avoid.
Depend karega bhai kitne din hain aapke paas.. ab cliffhanger road bandd ho chuka hai jitna mujhe pata hai Killar aur Kishtwar k beech ka but aap Killar aur Kistwar ja sakte ho dusre routes se
Hello Dheeraj, I am planning to do a road trip to ladakh from Guwahati on June, 2024. I have made this itinerary and this is the max leave (+ 7days for Guwhati-Delhi-Guwahati) I can get. Is there anything I should add or alter?? Also, Is mid of june good enough for this trip?? Day-1: Delhi to Srinagar Day-2: Srinagar to Kargil Day-3: Kargil to Leh Day-4: Leh Day-5: Leh-Siachen-Hunder Day-6: Hunder-Turtuk-Hunder Day-7: Hunder to Pangong Tso Day-8: Pangong to Hanle Day-9: Hanle-Umlingla-Hanle Day-10: Hanle to Tso Moriri Day-11: Tso Moriri to Manali Day-12: Manali to Delhi Day-13: Buffer
Bhai I have two suggestions: Day 5, skip Siachen as it will be very very long Day 11, Tso Moriri to Manali will be very very long.. consider Tso Kar as night stay the day before and then try.. otherwise you should stay at Jispa
Santosh, please check this video of mine on this topic Ladakh Trip with Kids | Spiti Valley Trip with Kids | 2-3-year-old Kids | 5-10-year-old Kids ruclips.net/video/NT9Z9VXvUKM/видео.html
I have 1-2 questions, 1. Can I cover Suru valley from Kargil upto Drang Drung glacier. 2. Can I go to TSomoriri direct from Pangong Tso . 3. How much time it takes from TSomoriri to Leh via Tsokar. 3.
1. Yes, you can cover Suru Valley. At ease you should add couple of days at Kargil or one day of 9-10 hrs drive you can do Suru Valley from Kargil and return to Kargil. It will be a bit hectic though. So, if you can add two days it is fine. 2. Yes, Pangong to Tso Moriri can be done via Chusul - Tsaga La - Loma - Nyoma - Mahe route. 3. Tso Moriri to Leh via Tso Kar will take about 10 hrs.
Thanks for the video. I would like to ask that we r planning road trip from gujarat to leh, which route to be preffered? can we go from manali to tso mororri and then proceed to leh?
Hello Dheeraj bhai, its really helping us to plan our journey based on your videos. I have planned below itinerary from Pune - Leh - Manali - Pune. I am planning to start on 15th May and could be crossing Manali May end. not sure road will open during that time fame. Please check below itinerary and share any thoughts and let me know if any changes required. Day 1 Pune to Ratlam - 663 (14 hours) Day 2 Ratlam to Jaipur via Ajmer, pushkar 523 KM (9 hours) Day 3 Jaipur to Amritsar - 644 KM (12 hours) Day 4 Amritsar Atari border. Day 9 Leh - Rancho school, Chemery, Hemis,Thiksey,Shey, Stakna monestry. Day 10 Khardungla, Diskit & Nubra valley, Turtuk village - additional day. Day 11 Pangong (Leave early around 6 AM) Go from Nubra not via Leh, will save 1 day. Day 12 Pangong to Sarchu or Jispa or Keylong or Manali. - 583 KM (13 hours) Day 13 Day in Manali - Hadimba Temple, Mall road. Day 14 Manali to Narnol - 580 KM (11 Hours) Day 15 Narnol to Ratlam - 700 KM (12 hours) Day 16 Ratlam to Pune 663 KM (14 hours)
Hello Abhishek bhai.. Well, at the glimpse of it, your plan is pretty hectic. Day 5: It is very long, mostly you will reach way late by evening so forget doing whatever you have written there. Ideally you should split at Patnitop Day 8,9: Good to take rest for couple of days Day 10: Turtuk you already know that will need one more day Day 12: It will be very long too and considering it will be early season with Manali Leh Highway MAY NOT be OPEN at all or may have timing restrictions, better keep a buffer day there to be ready to split the journey. All this is also considering you are OK with such long hours of ride or drive and have stamina to do it for back to back days mostly. Plus like I said Manali Leh Highway will be open or not or safe or not, time can only tell.
Here is what I will suggest: Day 5 Amritsar to Patnitop Day 6 Patnitop to Srinagar Day 7 Srinagar to Kargil via Zozila, Sonmarg Day 8 Kargil to Leh via Lamayuru Day 9 Leh - leh palace, Hall of fame & Sangam, Shanti stupa, dinner at changspa road. Day 10 Leh - Rancho school, Chemery, Hemis,Thiksey,Shey, Stakna monestry. Day 11 Khardungla, Diskit & Nubra valley Day 12 Turtuk village - additional optional day. Day 13 Pangong (Leave early around 6 AM) Go from Nubra not via Leh, will save 1 day. Day 14 Pangong to Leh If Manali Leh is open: Day 15 Leh to Sarchu Day 16 Sarchu to Manali Day 17 Day in Manali Rest for long ride ahead Day 18 Manali to Narnol - 580 KM (11 Hours) If Manali Leh is NOT open: Day 15 Leh to Kargil Day 16 Kargil to Srinagar Day 17 Srinagar to Jammu Day 18 Jammu to Narnol - 660 KM (12 Hours)
Thanks Dheeraj bhai, appreciate it. Could please let us know about the fuel situation as well, I mean once we leave Leh for Nubra then to Pangong (via Shyok) then to Hanle and then to Tso Moriri & then Sarchu, where in these places can we expect to get fuel..??

Thank you for sharing this plan. I have been checking blog from last few months for my 1st trip to Ladakh. This is how I have planned each night Delhi, Pathankot, Srinagar, Kargil, Leh, Leh, Hunder, Pangong, Hanle, Sumdo (via Tso Moriri, Pang, Jispa, Panipat, Delhi We three friends will be driving with two children (14 & 13yrs). We will start from Kolkata on 27th May or 2nd June and will start from Delhi the following day. J am looking for your advise if you think my itinerary is not doable
Dheeraj a quick question - coming from Delhi, which one would you recommend - Pathankot - Samba - Right Turn to Udhampur OR Pathankot - Samba - Jammu - Udhampur
Hi there I am planning for Zanskar + Ladakh in Aug Can you suggest a route plan starting from Sissu - Gongo Rangjon - Purney - Padum - Padum onwards pls suggest a plan to cover maximum places of Ladakh - and end the ride in Manali Plan which coveres leh city ,Nubra Valley , Pangong, turtuk, Hanle return to Manali
Thank you Dheeraj bhai for such amazing videos. Just one query. When I am exiting from Tso moriri lake via Tso Kar using local taxi but my rental self drive car is parked in Leh, how will I manage that?
If you are doing Leh to Tso Moriri then You can take your rental car towards Tso Moriri and take a chance that no one objects there. Else you can say you are just exiting via Tso Kar and came to see it in day only. Mostly these two things work. However, if you are coming from Hanle or Pangong to Tso Moriri then in that case there is only option to return to Leh to pick your rental or hire someone to come and drop at Debring the meeting point on Manali Leh Highway of Tso Kar exit.

Best video....thank you

Wow sir.. that must have been some experiences and days!! Salute to the spirit.
@sanjaymandal797 😲 well those give me chills.. enthralling adventures I must say!!

Extremely helpful video and information.
I have two questions....
1. For planning this entire trip, do I need to make two sets of cab booking ?
a. Booking 1: Book a cab from Srinagar to Leh to be covered in 2 days. Should I use this Srinagar cab to add suru valley for another 2 days (i.e. total 4 days from srinagar to leh)?
b. Booking 2: Book another cab from Leh to cover leh sighteeing, nubra, turtuk, pangong, tsomoriri (6 days) and manali drop (2 days) for total 8 days
My blog has list of many taxi drivers, Chamba on #1 is best
2. Go for Innova for best comfort

Hi Dheeraj, your videos are very informative.
I need your suggestions on the following
1. Can we travel to tso moriri directly from Pangong or we need to come back to Leh to acclimitize?
2. And
Can we travel to jispa directly from tso moriri or we need to come to leh to acclimatise?
3. Is it ok if I do pangong to tsomoriri n halt in tso moriri for a night and then tso moriri to jispa?
Please reply asap. I would be grateful
4. Do I need to come to leh each time to acclimatise?
Hello Archana, thanks and here are my inputs:
Thank you for your prompt reply❤
Nice explanation 👌
Thank you!
Hi Dheeraj, please let me know if i require any other permit for my own Car ,other than ILP.
Since 2021 end of season, Indian do not need any permit anymore in Ladakh for regular sightseeing. You just need to pay the Ladakh Environment Fee on the website and carry the receipt of it. Here is the link where you need to pay it: www.lahdclehpermit.in/register-as-domestic
Current Ladakh environment fees are broken down as following:
1. Environment Fee = Rs 400 one time
2. Wildlife Fee/Something = Rs 20 per day
How's the network within the on road route. I will be required to check my office stuf and a proper network would be required.

Is there anything I should add or alter??
Also, Is mid of june good enough for this trip??

Day-6: Hunder-Turtuk-Hunder

Day-9: Hanle-Umlingla-Hanle
Day-10: Hanle to Tso Moriri

Day-13: Buffer

Day 5, skip Siachen as it will be very very long
Day 11, Tso Moriri to Manali will be very very long.. consider Tso Kar as night stay the day before and then try.. otherwise you should stay at Jispa

Hello sir , wanted to ask ….. total kms delhi to delhi following your circuit ??
Somewhere like 3200-3500 kms
Great Sir.
thanks a lot.

Hello Abhishek bhai..
Well, at the glimpse of it, your plan is pretty hectic.
Day 5: It is very long, mostly you will reach way late by evening so forget doing whatever you have written there. Ideally you should split at Patnitop
Day 8,9: Good to take rest for couple of days
Day 10: Turtuk you already know that will need one more day
Day 12: It will be very long too and considering it will be early season with Manali Leh Highway MAY NOT be OPEN at all or may have timing restrictions, better keep a buffer day there to be ready to split the journey.
All this is also considering you are OK with such long hours of ride or drive and have stamina to do it for back to back days mostly. Plus like I said Manali Leh Highway will be open or not or safe or not, time can only tell.
@@discoverwithdheeraj Is it possible for you to give revised plan?
Here is what I will suggest:
Day 5 Amritsar to Patnitop
Day 6 Patnitop to Srinagar
Day 7 Srinagar to Kargil via Zozila, Sonmarg
Day 8 Kargil to Leh via Lamayuru
Day 9 Leh - leh palace, Hall of fame & Sangam, Shanti stupa, dinner at changspa road.
Day 10 Leh - Rancho school, Chemery, Hemis,Thiksey,Shey, Stakna monestry.
Day 11 Khardungla, Diskit & Nubra valley
Day 12 Turtuk village - additional optional day.
Day 13 Pangong (Leave early around 6 AM) Go from Nubra not via Leh, will save 1 day.
Day 14 Pangong to Leh
If Manali Leh is open:
Day 15 Leh to Sarchu
Day 16 Sarchu to Manali
Day 17 Day in Manali Rest for long ride ahead
Day 18 Manali to Narnol - 580 KM (11 Hours)
If Manali Leh is NOT open:
Day 15 Leh to Kargil
Day 16 Kargil to Srinagar
Day 17 Srinagar to Jammu
Day 18 Jammu to Narnol - 660 KM (12 Hours)

Thank you for sharing this plan. I have been checking blog from last few months for my 1st trip to Ladakh.

We three friends will be driving with two children (14 & 13yrs). We will start from Kolkata on 27th May or 2nd June and will start from Delhi the following day. J am looking for your advise if you think my itinerary is not doable
I think till Hanle it is fine. I will suggest that you do Hanle, Tso Moriri, Sarchu, Manali,Delhi ..
@@discoverwithdheeraj Thank you♥️
Dheeraj a quick question - coming from Delhi, which one would you recommend -
Pathankot - Samba - Right Turn to Udhampur
OR
Pathankot - Samba - Jammu - Udhampur
If you want to stop at Patnitop overnight then take the right and skip Jammu

Thanks bhai😊
