You are brave. I just love it when people are open about their addictions, hang ups and issues. I find it very refreshing that instead of denial and hiding it we just admit it and go from there. As my doctor once told me, "everyone has something".

Amazing job and what a pleasant surprise! I think with the attic being cleared out you should think about switching so that ALL your decor is together in the basement and something else is in the attic. Maybe your super sentimental things that you don't need to constantly see, just know they're safe somewhere. Maybe a konmari on all of the boys stuff you want to keep soon?

@@Johnf.-gl6fl Compulsive hoarding disorder is, for most people, a life long condition, like alcoholism. And Ms Hoarder's Heart has improved tremendously - I have been watching her videos for several years and she has been able to let go of so many items. I have known hoarders and even lived at a hoarded house so I do know something about compulsive hoarding disorder - it is a very overwhelming condition. thank you for your time.

That's amazing! I feel that most British folk tend not to decorate for each season in the same way that US people do. We do Christmas, Halloween, and sometimes Easter, but that's about it for most of us. My main concession to seasonal decor is one bin for Christmas. I have one vase of artificial flowers that I change out seasonally, and that's it. I love to see US homes with all their pretty stuff, but I could not be bothered to do that myself.

You are letting go of so many things which other people will be overjoyed to have today- that must be a wonderful feeling. I know other families are going to wear those costumes and put up those decorations this year and feel so much joy. Halloween is my absolute favourite time of the year (I have 24/7 decorations which would in other homes be Halloween decorations and then 2 boxes of Halloween decorations when I only have one box for Christmas) so I LOVE that you are spreading the joy of the season and keeping the things you are looking forward to decorating with!

This will really inspire so many hoarders who are the stronger decluttering stage to try the konmari method for themselves. Ms Heart, you're amazing! The kon-mari in reverse really works for you.
But also the original spark joy. You now recognize how many decorations you want in your house. And which decorations you want to use. So when you have set those aside, the rest were pretty straight forward. Great job!
