  • This video begins by constructing the straight line amplitude and phase response of an RC high pass filter using a Bode plot.We the use SPICE to construct the same filter and examine its frequency response. By comparing the plot we constructed with the one produced in SPICE it's clear there are suitable differences, the implications of which will be discussed. This video will give you a comprehensive understanding of the differences between real and idealised amplitude and phase response of filter circuits.

I saw you load this yesterday but waited until today, thankfully. For some reason, the shift between 'w' and '2PiF' still makes my brain curdle.

Don’t worry, we’re moving on to resonant circuits soon, in these we nearly always talk about the resonant frequency in terms of Hz rather than rad/s!
Just one more video on filters to come, we’re going to see how to cascade them to improve performance (also how to make things like band-pass filters etc). Thanks for watching!
