I tell you one thing, Trevor came to fight, showed amazing courage and will. He landed some real good shots on Mike; but Tyson was an animal that day. Ferocity and serious intent and power on almost every shot
I totally hear ya. Berbick really does look bigger, which proves just how built and rock solid Tyson was in both upper and lower body. Tyson used to work his ass off in the gym.
Thanks for that reply. Cant remember the exact details about the socks I do know it had some thing to do with it. Such tactics lol. Berbick came across as a really nice man in a pre fight documentary I watched.
Trevor Berbick's career is as follows: One of teh last men to beat Ali, and one of his last fights was against Tyson...he is the link between perhaps two of the greatsest heavyweights of all time.
@michaelyouth But you didn't say "boxer" you used the term "heavyweights" the way you wrote your comment makes it look like you meant he was a heavyweight.
@matt2fresh84 Tyson in his prime was a force of nature. He didn't just hit hard, his defense was incredible and he's still probably one of the best Peek a boo fighters to every do it.
@NBAGOATS I read it in a book about Ali where they interviewed people, called Ali Life and Times. And if you look at liston vs Ali, he doesn't just beat him, he makes him look like an amatuer. when ali was 17, he beat Ingemar so easily in a sparring match that he quit, Ingemar was in his prime.
love someone who makes no doubt comments about fighters who could never have faced each other in their prime, boxing is one of the most unpredictable sports ever, a fight can change on one lucky punch so everyone who thumbed up smoothhopinal's comment you clearly know nothing about boxing
That's correct but Holmes hadn't even been in training, he'd been touring with his band for several months. It was a great performance from Mike but not one he can be really credited with overall.
Tyson was fined $5,000.00 for wearing the same type of trunks as Berbick. (I will now remove my Cliff Claven hat). Berbick was always just a good fighter and Mike Tyson dominates good fighters. And during his prime, Tyson was as good as anyone. Berbick tried to go "toe-to-toe" with Tyson and that was obviously a monstrous mistake. When you combine the skill disparity with the game plan ineffectiveness, 2 rounds seems just about right.
Mike in his prime in his first shot at the title. Thank God he came in the era because the heavys were so boring. I believe he would have taken out any heavy weight in his prime. To bad every boxer gets old.
tyson was not among the greatest of all time BUT i will say he was the most intimidating feared men of all time....that speaks volumes....he just hits way too hard....took the breathe right out you lol........
According to the Book, "Bad Intentions" by Peter Heller (pg. 154 to be exact), Angy Dundee (Berbick's trainer) knew Mike liked to wear all black trunks, so in an attempt to gain an edge, Dundee had Berbick wear black trunks. Under the rules, the champ gets to chose his colors and the Challenger cannot wear the same trunks as the champ. Tyson's team refused and paid the fine. Tyson wore black before and would after; this fight was no different. I am not sure about the socks.
@alotofshots reason i say frazier as he was small and ali had his hardest fights with him , ali was amazing , tyson was a beast tho .. close call 50/50 :)
i understand where every1 is coming frm thinking tyson was 1 of the top heavyweights ever, and saying he had all this potential but we have to look at what he's actually done. His big time opponents: Larry Holmes, way over the hill Micheal Spinks, didnt even put up a fight Holyfield, beat him twice Lewis, Koed in the 8th How can any1 compare him to any heavyweight gr8?
Funny to see Berbick trying to play mind games with Tyson: looking past Tyson as if he's nothing while Mills Lane states the rules, attempting to push him back, and taunting him after he gets pummeled -- as if to say, "Is that it? Come on, that's nothing! What else you got?". Those tactics obviously didn't help Berbick and showed his fear of Tyson.
@tysonfor1 i feel you man i took no offense it was just good sparring lol....just like the last guy i was commenting we said we were cool too....we cool :)
I feel sorry for Berbick, cause he had to fight Tyson his prime. Berbick was scared of Tyson even before the fight. Tyson didint just beat Berbick but destroyed him.
Yea you're right. Mike is a typical bully kind of person. If you can stand up to the natural ferocity, speedy combinations, and inhuman strenght and be all in his face still after that, you can beat mike.. Douglas did it like that.. and so did holyfield
@smoothhoopinal In his prime several fighters took Tyson the distance. James Tillis and Mitch Green took him to 10 round decisions, James Smith and Tony Tucker took him 12. Hardly huge names in boxing. Tyson was destructive but not quite as great as many fans seem to think.
BERBICK SHOWED GUTS TRYING TO STAND TOE-TO-TOE WITH TYSON. BUT HE WAS JUST OUTGUNNED BY A MUCH FASTER, HARDER-HITTING FOE. TREVOR WAS NEVER KNOWN AS A BIG PUNCHER.
@matt2fresh84 LOL, hope u didnt take anythin personaly mate. It was only banter and stupid ass childish comments. I actually respect u coz u stood up to me, told me exactly where to stick it and can still have a laugh at the end of it all! Good show sir.
overpowering mike tyson not a good idea Berbick : ). The guy is called kid dynamite for a reason. Ah well i so love this fight this is the smuck that humilatiated ali.. go tyson !
@Khaled4life I think he was the most devastating puncher ever in the sport. I think Ali was the greatest along with Marciano. The only true enemy to Mike was his own mind. When he had his mentor alive, I don't think Mike would've been beaten at all.
and i thought you tube was about creative criticism, you like the video or you dont ,everyone is entitled to a point of view matt2fresh84 and tysonfor1,your comments are a disgrace. if you want to or feel the need to write slander at each other then do it on facebook or somewhere else to the uploader of the video .many thanks ,alot of people remember tyson for all the the wrong reasons,he was a champion.i think if cus d'amato had lived for another 10 years he would have made tyson the greatest
@1manmaiden you obviously havent read all the cmmts ive posted on this particular vid. your doing the same thing tyson41 doing LOL read ALL my comments 1st b4 you post. & i see what your ssaying but we will never know that will we? all we can go off of his is quality of opponents & who he has defeated & lost too. i LOVE watching mike but im going to keep it real, hes not an all time great to me.
C'mon, Trevor barely moves on ring. I'm re-watching Tyson fights, beginning with this one to see if he was really that good. I began watching boxing with these fights, so I 'don't have a prior reference. So far this one hasn't me impressed at all.
@b7r7u7c7e I disagree man. To me, Mike Tyson is no more indestructible than George Foreman or Sonny Liston ''were''. I think the 67 Ali would not annihilate Tyson, but he would humiliate him. Just like he did with Liston. He did not destroy Liston, but he outboxed so well, and he didn't take one single good punch.
@alotofshots not definate mate , frazier was less powerfull and less agressive than mike , mike tyson was so much stronger and faster than frazier.. my fave fighter is ALI and my idol as he is a true hero but im afraid your wrong with the definate part .. tyson was just as quick as ali and like a raging bull but ali had more heart and brains .. tysondone exactly what his trainers told him , repetitive day after day training , they had numbers they shouted for his combos .. ali was just a genius
@hotwelder2010 Total ignorance. Ali was so fleet footed and blessed with hand speed never seen before or since by a heavyweight. Pre-war Ali would have made Tyson miss nearly every shot and taken him apart with crisp combinations. Prime Tyson would not make it into the championship rounds against a prime Ali. People love to fear Tyson but he only beat a few fighters of note. Even now, people buy the hype without looking at the record.
I tell you one thing, Trevor came to fight, showed amazing courage and will. He landed some real good shots on Mike; but Tyson was an animal that day.
Ferocity and serious intent and power on almost every shot

Berbick came across as a really nice man in a pre fight documentary I watched.
The one and only Mike Tyson. Without him nothing is the same on boxing.
Uppercut, uppercut, body, uppercut, best tyson combo
Mike never lose any fight , please watch move "Tyson" - the best biography move ever. Best Boxer in History
Iron Mike Tyson...💪🤜
Tyson is a staffy, love him
Touring with his band?!!! Sorry, but you've confused Holmes with Joe Frazier!
The thought of Holmes on the show biz trail is worth a chuckle!
and a other victory for tyson ^^
y did u get a thumbs down? u were right he said himself in the documentary
@calbo555 Yes,but Frazier had the ability to fight for 15 rounds, after the 3-5th round he was out of gas,he doesn't have any KOs past the 7th round.
wheres the f*ckin sponge?! gotta love Angelo Dundee
Tyson in his prime would've moped the floor with any world class heavyweight.
I wish I was alive when this fight took place so I could have put my net worth on Tyson as a 3-1 favorite.
now i know why tyson is a fucking legend
Muhammad Ali came to Tyson and said to him "Revenge me", so he did :-)
Thank you Mike!!!!
@tbone2872 I know. But I never said he was. He was one of the greatest pound for pound boxer.
@matt2fresh84 haha let's hope u and 1maniden don't go through the same thing or the circle may never end!! good sparring dude :)
mike without doubt!!
he was awesome..
nowone could beat this tyson!!
@thesisstatment i think with all that happened in his life he just lost his passion for the sport and confidence in himself
@matt2fresh84 Tyson in his prime was a force of nature. He didn't just hit hard, his defense was incredible and he's still probably one of the best Peek a boo fighters to every do it.

mike is the man!! r.i.p Ali died today! Ali and Tyson best there ever will be!!
in their prime - Ali or Mike?
love someone who makes no doubt comments about fighters who could never have faced each other in their prime, boxing is one of the most unpredictable sports ever, a fight can change on one lucky punch so everyone who thumbed up smoothhopinal's comment you clearly know nothing about boxing
1986 looked like the village people!
That's correct but Holmes hadn't even been in training, he'd been touring with his band for several months. It was a great performance from Mike but not one he can be really credited with overall.
@alotofshots I really dont think ali would cope with tysons pressure.
Berbick wore enough socks for both of theme.
Trevor fué un ejemplo a seguir... lástima que no tuviera oportunidad de revancha.
Q.E.P.D Trevor Berbick
Tyson was fined $5,000.00 for wearing the same type of trunks as Berbick. (I will now remove my Cliff Claven hat).

Classic!
I must say the referee was brilliant not to much clinching
Gostei muito favor reprizar o dia que ele perdeu no 11rolde
G.O.A.T
mike tyson said he had gonorrhea durin dis fight lmao
No doubt. Tyson with his full focus in boxing would end Lewis, just like he did anyone else.
According to the Book, "Bad Intentions" by Peter Heller (pg. 154 to be exact), Angy Dundee (Berbick's trainer) knew Mike liked to wear all black trunks, so in an attempt to gain an edge, Dundee had Berbick wear black trunks. @michaelyouth Sugar Ray Robinson wasn't a heavyweight. He fought as a welterweight and middleweight.

there is no another tyson. mike is the only real champ!!!!!!!!!
RIP Tevor Berbick!
ROFL 8:01 "where's the fuckin' sponge?"
mike the real greatest .his first 2 yrs the best ,.ali would not have had a chance .
Not even a contest not in the same league as Tyson 'although 'he did try 'just not good enough '
Yea you're right. Mike is a typical bully kind of person. If you can stand up to the natural ferocity, speedy combinations, and inhuman strenght and be all in his face still after that, you can beat mike.. Douglas did it like that.. and so did holyfield
2:02 Where's the fuckin' sponge!? lol
I truly believe that THIS Mike Tyson would have beaten Muhammed Ali....
Trevor Berbick was murdered in 2006 may he rest in peace, god bless!
@smoothhoopinal I rest my case.
7.10 incredeble
Where's the fucking Sponge!? haha
Was he? as I understood it there was an argument as to who could where what, as such Berbick ended up having to wear longer socks.
BERBICK SHOWED GUTS TRYING TO STAND TOE-TO-TOE WITH TYSON. BUT HE WAS JUST OUTGUNNED BY A MUCH FASTER, HARDER-HITTING FOE. TREVOR WAS NEVER KNOWN AS A BIG PUNCHER.
where the fuck is part 2?
@dogo650 ufc has owned pride for years already my friend.
THERE CAN ONLY ONE MAN THAT CAN WEAR THE BLACK ON BLACK UNI, IRON MIKE TYSON. THAT LOOK SHOULD BE RETIRED LIKE M.J'S #23.
Larry Holmes gave Holyfield a tough 12 round fight and WHOOPED Mercer ass...Give me a break. Those 2 guys were the best fighters at that time.
@matt2fresh84 LOL, hope u didnt take anythin personaly mate. It was only banter and stupid ass childish comments. I actually respect u coz u stood up to me, told me exactly where to stick it and can still have a laugh at the end of it all! Good show sir.
Oops, looks like that was supposed to be 8:02

overpowering mike tyson not a good idea Berbick : ). The guy is called kid dynamite for a reason. Ah well i so love this fight this is the smuck that humilatiated ali.. go tyson !
james toney is NUMBER ONE !!!!
@Khaled4life
I think he was the most devastating puncher ever in the sport. I think Ali was the greatest along with Marciano. The only true enemy to Mike was his own mind. When he had his mentor alive, I don't think Mike would've been beaten at all.
where's the fuckin sponge! lmao
@gregerson20 In a boxing match or a MMA bout? No way he can deal w/ Cain Velasquez.
how could berbick weigh less than tyson.he was 3 inches taller and large
Apparently, YES... LOL
berbick should have worked the jab more and moved around tyson in circles but he choosed to slug it out
and i thought you tube was about creative criticism, you like the video or you dont ,everyone is entitled to a point of view matt2fresh84 and tysonfor1,your comments are a disgrace. if you want to or feel the need to write slander at each other then do it on facebook or somewhere else to the uploader of the video .many thanks ,alot of people remember tyson for all the the wrong reasons,he was a champion.i think if cus d'amato had lived for another 10 years he would have made tyson the greatest
heavyweights now-a-days dont go at it like this
@pafmic absolutely spot on the death of Cus D'Amato was the death of Mike Tyson's career
@1manmaiden you obviously havent read all the cmmts ive posted on this particular vid. your doing the same thing tyson41 doing LOL read ALL my comments 1st b4 you post. & i see what your ssaying but we will never know that will we? all we can go off of his is quality of opponents & who he has defeated & lost too. i LOVE watching mike but im going to keep it real, hes not an all time great to me.

tyson had ganaria for this fight
C'mon, Trevor barely moves on ring. I'm re-watching Tyson fights, beginning with this one to see if he was really that good. I began watching boxing with these fights, so I 'don't have a prior reference. So far this one hasn't me impressed at all.
@alotofshots listen. u have ur opinion. tyson would knock him out. in his time tyson stands alone as the GOAT
@llivantheraiderll
Yes, He had that particular STD
@pafmic or if tyson wasnt stupid and went to prison. he would have been the greatest of all time. no question.
@b7r7u7c7e I disagree man. To me, Mike Tyson is no more indestructible than George Foreman or Sonny Liston ''were''. I think the 67 Ali would not annihilate Tyson, but he would humiliate him. Just like he did with Liston.

@charlesgoodwin Ali said himself Tyson would have beaten him, maybe he was just being nice though
