Ranveer's and Milinda's comments on the shared culture of Indians and Sri Lankans is very true. In 2018, I went for a Master degree in the United States. In the new semester, a group of Nepali students invited me to a Potluck. In this small gathering, there was one other student, 3 years younger to me, from New Delhi. We both clicked instantly and every week he used to take me to Wisconsin to eat Indian food. We were on the Minnesota and Wisconsin border, and we go to this restaurent often. The funny thing is the restaurent, although it is Indian, was run by a fellow Sri Lankan. Both of us were each other's go to person. Although we are from thousands of miles apart, we never felt we are from different countries. He introduced me to lot of North Indian content, and I introduced him to both South Indian and Sri Lankan content.

Of course vested elements hijacked these peaceful protests and turned it violent. Hopefully & thankfully situation is getting better in SL.

India is the only country that has broken Sri Lanka's trust. Friendship is based on trust. India has violated that trust several times since 1980. As a majority Buddhist country, Sri Lanka does not create conflicts and is always tolerant. Once trust is broken, trust can never be rebuilt. The government of Sri Lanka is the people of the country. Their decision will be the final decision. Sri Lanka was never a country that deliberately harmed India. Sri Lankans have no conflict with Indians. But Sri Lankans never trust India's government.

The individual oriented personalities of Sri Lankan people is something that greatly influenced by Buddhism. Since our childhood we were teach to focused on our perceptions, in very individual oriented perspectives, unintentionally. Sri Lankan team work is more like group of people who has very similar or identical personal goals cooperate and work together until they achieve their common goals. Rather than focusing on achieving a one goal of the team, each of them focusing on achieving their own personalized goals that have very little differences from each other. That is a very efficient method when you are trying to achieve relatively short term goals. That's why people say you can't predict how we Sri Lankans will play in the cricket tournaments. At one point we might be at the bottom of the rankings but at the end we end up being the champions by winning the whole series. That shows how good this could work for us. But, as I said this tactic does not work for the long termed scenarios. Maintaining such a individuality in a team and functioning at it's best is not an easy task. In a long run, it won't that efficient either. After they achieve their goals they lost the interest of functioning as a one group of entity and move back into their individual driven lifestyles. As I see, that is one of the main differences between Sri Lanka and other South Asian counties.
@BeerBiceps I really enjoy the way you discus not just geopolitics but various interesting other topics as well. keep it up the great work. ✌ Best wishes from Sri Lanka.

It is deeply concerning that Milinda seems to be immune to forming any negative perception of the Rajapaksa family. This unwavering support raises questions about his ability to critically analyse their actions and policies, and calls into question his independence and objectivity. It is crucial for individuals in positions of influence to maintain a balanced perspective and not blindly endorse political figures, especially when there are legitimate concerns and controversies surrounding their governance. It is truly disappointing that the individual in question failed to address the terrible series of reckless choices and the widespread system of corruption that runs through every level of our society. The sad state of our nation, torn to pieces by deep divisions, is a direct consequence of the Rajapaksas' governance, which openly disregards the principles upon which our democracy is built. The attempt to downplay the evident demonization in this statement is a clear reflection of the speaker's political agenda. By dismissing the obvious demonising nature of the subject matter, they are attempting to manipulate the narrative and avoid taking responsibility for their divisive culture. This kind the Sri Lankan leaders have proven themselves to be nothing short of wicked "demons". This and previous administration has consistently demonstrated a blatant disregard for the worth and potential of our nation's youth. The glaring absence of any meaningful policy aimed at improving the quality of life or promoting opportunities for the younger generation is a clear indication of the government's disregard for the welfare and future prospects of its citizens. Milinda's bold request for our patience in creating this terrible political agenda is nothing short of an insult to the intelligence and discernment of people nationwide. Milinda, your actions are a disgrace and a betrayal to the values we hold dear. It is deeply disappointing that you failed to articulate an unwavering commitment to absolute truth. It is imperative that we acknowledge the inherent value and dignity of the individuals residing in Sri Lanka.
