I dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me
I told you not to run these fancy filters, but I see your runnin’ em anyway. Why’s that? Lol I love it! Great video Steve! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
People are scared to run the cheap filters especially nowadays with the virus around or if they have allergies. They think it will help the air, it actually does, but little do they know what it does to the system and the reduced air coming out of the vents.
@6:53 my favorite part... suprise! Water leaking. Nice find on the blockage, the 2 code blink went away after you cleared it. Weird there is condensate in winter? I thought we only got that for AC. Ohh, maybe that spot is really cold down there?
Buddy of mine had the same issue. You could hear the water sloshing inside the draft inducer. Pulled the hose and emptied the water out. Cleaned out the clog and he was back in service again. Good eye and good ear there Steve. Gonna have to start calling you the furnace whisperer.
My trane has the red light flash twice too for the retry. What she is explaining is correct. It will retry a few times then stop trying to light but then the blower motor comes on for about an hour blowing cool air. Once the hour is up it tries to light through the cycles again. Only difference is that mine lights and burns for about 3 secs before shutting off. Flame sensor was cleaned and the induction fan replaced due to bad bearings
You should go back and replace that trap housing. It’s just gonna clog again. All that crap in the burner train housing made it all the way through and is in that trap.
Filters made for medical reasons. Depends on medical issues which filters is best ; allergies etc ; good to ask client if any health issues before picking a filter.
I work at Lowe's and they made me take computer training on furnace filters they told me to use the more expensive thicker filters I believe the same as Steve and I never use that training to sell furnace filters
When the unit has a smaller return than recommended, it’s better to use the cheaper filters so the unit doesn’t have a hard time drawing in return air.
If you don't have sufficient airflow through your furnace it will overheat and shut off, it will trip sensors inside the furnace (high limit switch). The result will be short cycling and the furnace will eventually not be able to heat the house efficiently, it could make 3 attempts or whatever and go into lockout for an hour unless the system is power cycled. This happened to my furnace so I quit using the pleated filters and just threw in the cheapies fiberglass ones and replace them often. Granted my furnace is older - 20 years or so. Do pleated filters do a better job - sure but if you have an older furnace it might suffocate it and cause it not to work.
Actually the cheap filters are not good. They allow way too much particulates past the fibers. New furnaces are designed for the better filters today as opposed to older furnaces.
Should have pulled the inducer motor and checked the transition behind it. Its usually cracked and then look inside the plastic trane uses is usually cracked there and thats where the caulk came from condemn the furnace replace the h/x or sell em a new one.
@@iLikeC00kieDough You need to get in there with an inspection camera. After you pull the inducer stick the camera in and go to the right and start looking for a crack in the corner sometimes it could be on the left side.
Hey there. Mind just clicks like it doesn't have any gas with continuous red light. I was just using it but noticed that it just turned off and started clicking. The diagnosis chart stated replace IFC. Could it be the thermostat? What do you think I should do?
Steve always. to run cheap filters! Mainly because most of the A/C and furnaces are not ducted properly and they will get better flow with the cheapos!
Once you turn power off and back on to the furnace error code is reset at control board. Notice steady flash at the end of video, that’s normal operation.
Had this problem develop lately. Turns out the inductor fan drive has broken away from the motor. Repair tech says he sees this common on Tranes. Had just had the recirc fan replaced in Jan. The water is from the fan not driving it out the flue. Had to shut off the furnace from firing for the past three days. Had water running on the floor from the condensing water not being expelled out the flue. New parts showed up today, and will go in tomorrow. And to add, this guy is wrong about the filters. Change them as the maker recommends. If you can't keep up with that task, settle for the cheap fiberglas.
Hi mate how are u ok mate u do a really good job on here mate keep up the good work on RUclips hove u do a really good job on here mate hove a good day mate from Greg Bouchard u do hove a good week mate u do a really good job on here mate
look for a nest either intake or exhaust pvc vent

You shouldn't run cheap filters. Do you put cheap oil in your car?
@@Jake_Smith7472 not remotely the same thing
@@lj8736 give me one reason why you'd run cheap filters. I'll wait
@@Jake_Smith7472 way less air restriction with cheap filters better flow not working the system as hard!!

90+ furnaces produce condensation when they heat. The condensation can actually be somewhat acidic and can damage old cast iron drains.
Can’t stop a train except for some condensate. Great job Steve, what an interesting find.

sounds like induction blower wheel is rubbing against housing on start up
Did you check the condensate pump to see if is operational?
When you did a closeup at the beginning of video I noticed that the wires looks like they were chewed in a couple of places. MICE??

That looks like some sealant from around the adduction motor. Peace brother and Molly

Pull that trap and flush it. Also check flame sense and check intake. SMH
Agree!

Looks like disintegrated rubber band. Thanks for video Steven!
Do you service Bristol ct
Did she say it was a little nipply out

Wouldn't you pull and clean out that condensate trap
Those pumps have to be primed or they will just fill up with water again

You don’t have to replace the heat exchanger to replace the transition

That is true but 99 times out of a100 its all cracked right there

basement seems like it has a ton of moisture, those screws are all rusted.
I take flame reading before and after
Exactly, flame sensor testing shows you don’t have to guess. He told the lady upright it was probably the flame sensor. Nope !!
Nothing blinks like a trane.
My issue was with the ignitor. Exposed wires so changed it out.
Steve what Merv rating for filter do you always suggest?

Exactly what it was for me... thank you!
Should have cleaned all the debris since you had it opened.

know of anybody doing a oil code class refresher in w/mass. or anywhere for that matter.

Muchas grasias por tus bideos me han servido de mucho👍
Wow every single comment is saying the problem is something different :(
You give it the how u doing treatment!
does it reset itself?,,,the flashing....only problem i ever had was pluged drain in floor(under the slab)

so,anyway,i changed my drain the sch. 40 now with a open to air over flow...but hasnt pluged in about 10 years...???
Great find guy, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the video but they are shoving like 5 commercials in 12 minutes of video..
It's almost unwatchable
Weird. I didn't get a single ad
Somebody left there condom hidden in there
Looks like something I picked out of my nose!
At least blow thru drains. Plus bird in inducer motor?
If it’s running you might want to catch it lol 😂✌️

thats a bacteria colony....see it here all the time....every furnace and boiler here is a condensing unit....
Love you videos Steve
I think I'm gonna stick to my wood stove
Not pumps I meant traps
The furnace is filled with heat worms
Lol
Piece of rubber gasket from inducer
Nice!
