I like reading all of the quests and doing puzzles guideless on my first completion, it's one of the few times I can slow down and not worry about "efficiency".

Its heartwarming how the official osrs channel leans into the talented content creator community of rs. Little things like that are what makes me happy to pay monthly just for the ability to hop on for a couple hours per month. Well done.

My mind was so blown when we saw the RCing site and realized it was the Temple of the Eye *Of Saradomin.* Can't believe it's finally time.
And the creatures coming through the portal are from Zamorak trying to get back to one of the last known locations of the eye.
Really? Holy shit... this is the lore of Runescape I love. 😭
It is strange to seek while guthix sleep, but the story revolves around the stone of jas(jas is a god) , and the strangest thing is that the stone seems to be in the temple of the eye but it is found on the lunar island!

I just did the Temple of the Eye quest on my iron so this was all fresh to me
@@25_AAiirc it is explained in Temple of the Eye that the stone was moved from the Temple at some point. This isn't, as far as I know, a contradiction

Extremely excited for this quest. As a kid Guthix was my favorite god because I was broke and his god armor was the cheapest. God of balance also sounds super cool, keeping order on our planet. Became kind of attached to Guthix. When he dies in The World Wakes, I literally cried.

I too cried my eyes out after the events of The World Wakes. Whilst I don't want to the story of OSRS to follow RS3, I absolutely love the Majharaat/Dragonkin storyline.
Till date i have never come across another MMO that has better questing than Runeacape
That would require you to play other games...

@@raymoo8504 It's confirmed the lore does slightly deviate in the Oldschool timeline, but its unclear what parts are that, like how the God Wars started or what the Stone really is and its history

@@NoConsequenc3They are never intended to physically appear but the Elders including Xau Tak and Vos are part of OSRS the point of Mt Karum in Zeah is that the Tasa Kal are Ful purists to the extreme not to mention the Lassar Undercity

Loved the teaser video! the "While Guthix Sleeps..." at the end gave me chills
The Stone of Jas is by far the most interesting relic in the games lore. It is so powerful that nations would go to war for it, and so dangerous even the most reckless must take heed when using it. The ultimate double edged sword.
I was actually thinking of using it as a plot device in a D&D campaign I want to run in the future where the party are needing to travel from one realm to another trying to solve a mystery of sorts. Eventually stumbling into Gielinor, right into a massive crater they will find out was formed when the World Guardian destroyed it. Killing themself and blasting the fragments of the stone across space time.
God I'm so happy this track is gonna be in the game at 0:00, genuinely one of my favourite childhood tracks

Armadyl has the SOA wayyyy before Zamorak’s banishment. It was how he became a God in the first place. The dude who found it in the curse of Zaros miniquest confirms this as well as RS3 lore

Will be interesting to see how the OSRS team has reimagined the quest compared to the original. While Guthix Sleeps has been one of my favourite quests since it was originally released so looking forward to trying this one out.

Tbf the derpyness was mostly headcanon by the community rather than actual lore. The Edicts stuff is almost 20 years old lore (it was first mentioned in Darkness of Hallowwale in 2006), so he was considered this super powerful being that could destroy the world even back then
@@exantiuse497 Is the King's advisor the one who first mentions the Edicts? That guy is the first one I remember talking about it, but wasn't sure if it was actually the first mention or not.
I mean he was most influental god in original lore and in osrs lore there just wasn't enough quests to show it yet. Osrs lore in this video technically changed only one part which is that he banished all the gods which is probably true for the main four (i think Armadyl technically left by himself) but lesser gods like Menaphite pantheon wasn't banished (except for elidinis) and other lesser gods like V in fremenik just left because Guthix asked them and they were like "seems legit" and left.

I'm not a fan of reading at all, but as a RuneScape player I recommend reading the stone of Jas Wikipedia page. So good, and so nostalgic!

But possibly one small error: According to RS3 lore, didn’t Guthix give an exception to Seren after she revealed how the elves would die without her? Then she detonated herself.

Guthix was my favorite until i found out what he did with Seren, i mean, all Seren did was follow him, she went to the world because of him, brought the elfs to the land because of him, didn't even participate in the war and even so she was forced to "shatter herself" (which we know what it means) all because Guthix wouldn't allow her to stay even if she was quite literally a neutral party, so yeah, Guthix was a bit of a douche there.
Most important thing for WGS? Desecrated song. It's an absolute banger, and part of my childhood memories of camping TDS!!
