not necessarily , it's about training the right muscles.. There are quite a few massive guys who serve in all different branches that make quick work of courses because they don't train just the main muscle groups but target every single one. Mass will make it harder if it's in the wrong places but at the end of the day it comes down to training and technique to make sure you're doing what you need to do to be the best at your job and these guys do it every single day that they're not overseas or being briefed on something.

It's actually easiest to do it at a slow shuffle. During EIB there are many Infantrymen who do it around the 2 hour or less mark. When I got my EIB I did it in 2:19 and that was with taking a break to drink water before going to the assemble/ Disassemble personal weapon. It's easy if you train for it.
Upvote this so Tim sees it. I’m an army national guard recruiter. This is impressive Tim. If you ever want to be an airborne infantry officer give me a holler.
ESPN, you should respectfully mention that this is with rangers, not just a traditional army obstacle course. These men are the best in the world at what they do brotha!
Tim’s bulk is his worst enemy. My older cousin, Col. Graig Tate, RET. sported the Ranger band. He was a wrestler in high school only standing about 5’-7” wi the a body weight of about less than 175. I remember him saying that staying in wrestling shape made it easier than for most entering Ranger a School.
It’s just training . If Tebow trained for this for like 30 days I bet he could do lot of this stuff easier . The body can do anything you just need to teach it .
This is so cool to me because I helped build the one he called "the grand daddy of them all!" We call it either " the tactical warrior advanced training system" or "the punisher" for people without a sense of humor.

This needs to be a TV show. Athletes (active and retired) competing with active servicemen
I'd watch this, very different kinds of shape, then we can cap it off with a obstacle course and then mixed football game.
No clue why this hasn't become a thing yet. It's perfect

Lean vs bulky
For a guy Tim’s size he did really well. Strength to weight ratio. Well done Tim and well done soldiers.
Jake McCoy is right but I am going to add this haha. I’ll put is this way. I’m a better climber than he is but he could probably bench press 3 of me!
@Jake McCoy is right but I am going to add this no it's like if I'm 100 and bench 80 that's more impressive then a body builder who's 350 benching 300

Yeah his arms are huge now
Jake McCoy is right but I am going to add this He did a bunch better than you could have
Tebow is such a stand up dude. Love the encouragement and respect shown to those soldiers.
Top notch, still like seeing Tebow getting involved.
When Tim says "I can't quit on em" you know he'd literally do it till he passed out.
