People are being so unnecessarily rude to Bonnie she won the academy voted on her to win like y’all can be mad at the grammys but don’t be mad at Bonnie she did nothing wrong she deserved this win congratulations Bonnie❤️
Exactly, her peers voted for her and this is amazing
Most of them don't know who she is. It's hilarious.
@@tanerollins4705 everyone involved in any way with music knows who bonnie raitt is, or has at least heard the name.
@@octanegobrrr6769 Correct. That's the point.

Seeing an artist win Song of the Year without having a ton of other writers alongside of them is so pure, congrats Bonnie!
Can multiple writers not put in the same heart and soul as one person?
@@xHuntedGunzPCGx They definitely can! That being said, in my opinion, it’s difficult for groups of people to encapsulate personal experiences with the same level of emotion.
For example... take Hurricane Katrina. A person or group of people from New Orleans that lived through the catastrophe would likely be able to write a more impactful song regarding the devastation compared to a group of people on the outside looking in. However, that doesn’t mean that a collection of writers from various walks of life can’t create powerful lyrics as well!
@@asdfmatt81 "it's difficult for groups of people to encapsulate personal experiences with the same level of emotion." This says everything.

At first I was like wtf why? Then I went and listened to the song and I cried in the first minute of the song and understood. She deserved it and I’m glad she was honored amongst so many others that always win.
I too went and listened and then I understood why she won. Her music is 'real' and has meaning.
just keep going back and back through her entire history!
What a nice thing to say!

For people who don’t know who she is, she has been an incredible writer, slide guitar player, vocalist and performer since the 60s, and has been putting out music the entire time! She is a blues and americana icon!
You mean the people who only knows Taylor Swift and Adele because they are all over the internet becuase they got the money for it? Those people? Yeah, those people don't really matter, cause most of them are practically brain deads.

I genuinely can’t get mad at a woman over 60 winning a top category grammy award tonight. I really can’t. As much as I think All Too Well is a better song like good for her. Honestly. Women in music past a certain age are often times ignored and expected to just disappear. Well done bonnie 👏

I'm not crying, you're crying. This is a huge win for the roots loving, guitar slinging songwriters who will never be pop but have as much merit, talent and passion as anyone else. If you don't know already, Bonnie is a living legend for so many of us.

It's good to see this songwriter's award given to Bonnie Raitt on this singular achievement merit. Good news: No fandoms will be fighting
For those who have NO idea who Bonnie Raitt is or say she is an "unknown." Let me tell you. Bonnie was writing music before I (and many of you) was born and put out her first album FIFTY years ago. She is 73 years old and can teach many of those in the room that night a thing or two. She has THIRTEEN Grammys and has been nominated over 30 times! So just because your pet du jour didn't "win" don't be hating. Most weren't even born when she put out her fourth album. BTW, have you listened to the SONG and the WORDS she won for? Now that she mentions him, I could so hear John Prine singing that song. Such a beautiful tribute to him and to donors.
A proper musician recognised for her talent and art...more of this please!!!
Dont attack her guys she seems a really nice person its grammys fault, even she was shock 💀💀💀
So happy for Bonnie. Now a proud recipient of 13 Grammy Awards. If you don’t know her, check her out. Chances are you’ve heard a number of her songs and just didn’t know it was her.
My 30 something kids know her, but maybe due to their mom being a big fan of this fabulous artist. She’s a heck of a great guitarist as well as a singer.
A REAL song - with REAL lyrics - by a REAL singer, REAL musician - no gimmickry. Just love her - ever since I first heard her in 1963 ("Give It Up Or Let Me Go).
When the nominees were announced, I turned to my husband and said, "It will be Bonnie Raitt". So wonderful that she and this song won. Well done, Bonnie.
Just listened to the song. ABSOLUTELY worth "song of the year"
Well done Bonnie Raitt. A true legend. I love Beyoncé too so don’t gripe about her not winning. Bonnie has a depth and breadth to her career that makes her worthy of this award. Beyoncé is going to be the same one day.
Beyonce has won enough awards to decorate her living room walls. She wont mind she has missed out to Bonnie as she is a gracious lady
No one grieve about beyonce not winning SOTY lol. That woman is anything but a songwriter. We all mad that Taylor got ROBBED.
Lmao Beyonce is trash
@@anisanurraudah8383 literally stfu, i love taylor but i tried to listen to her song and now i can't be mad
Bouncee will never be like Bonnie. She can’t play or sing the BluES, she have not played with many of the greats of blues and Rock n roll.
