Got home, turned on the ac, maters were ripe, cheese and bologna was cold, made me a sandwich, sliced me up a cucumber and poured me a cold drink over ice, turned the fan on and pointed it toward my recliner, put my feet up and chowed down. Hit the spot!
Was good to see Leonard Fitch making the sammiches. FACT: Fitchs IGA in Wilmore , KY also employed a young man by the name of John Michael Montgomery back in the 80s. He sacked groceries.
And here I thought we were the only ones in the United States that enjoyed Bologna sandwiches for lunch. My grandmother would lightly fry the Bologna, add a couple of eggs over easy, put everything on a plate with rice, and breakfast was a winner. Don't forget the Spam too. I remember my grandpa stopping by ol Fred Snoddys country store to get a pound of baloney a loaf of bread and a jar of mustard for lunch while we were working in the garden. Every time I taste a baloney sandwich I remember him. Rest in peace grandpa. You don't know how much I miss you!

The best brand of bologna is Fischer's KY Finest. We had it up here in Indianapolis at Sam's. They stopped selling it and I bought some final qty. I had two packs in my freezer, woo hoo. I watched that river boat vid earlier and saw that awesome sandwich, took my bologna out to thaw.
I will say this... One thing my dad had me grow up on was FRIED Bologna. Hm hmm hmmm... With some spicy Mustard on some nice Rye Bread and good ole American ched. Hmm hmmm.. so good.. Thanks dad! :D

I love balogna on white bread with mayo. My folks eat theirs on whole wheat with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and mayo. I grew up eating fried balogna - DELICIOUS!!!

Don't need to find an IGA round here. We just go to Save a Lot and buy a small stick and Presto!1 Baloney sammiches!! Ii usually bake mine with BBQ sauce and cut big slices like watermelon for sammiches.
