NJ resident here. I need to, I must, defend my fellow Jerseyian's. Deep, deep, waaaaaayyyy deep down beneath the oozing levels of fomenting and wafting stress, we are in fact really nice people. It's just that we need our coffee, and slow drivers (slow anything for that matter) must stay to the right. NJ folks- you're welcome! The rest of what you said about Jersey is all true.
Lol I don’t disagree, I used to and still do stand by my jersey roots and there are tons of very nice happy people (all my fam and best friends are still there!)! 🫶🏻 If I never left I wouldn’t have this perspective and would believe NJ is the best and only place I’d ever want to live 😬
Love your content! I’m a WFH mom as well with two little ones-3 and 6 months. My husband and I started falling into the same “roommate” routine, so I designated Friday evening as “date night.” Every Friday night, we put the kids to bed and then we eat a meal together. Sometimes it’s a fancy pasta dish, and sometimes it’s leftovers. The food doesn’t matter-it’s about setting aside that time (usually around an hour) to talk to each without the distractions of kids, phone, TV, etc. Just this ritual alone has made a huge difference in our marriage. ❤
I love this, thank you!! Definitely going to start doing this! 🙏🏻🩷
Love that you’re investing on getting out of corporate America! 🎉 I’m seeing more people being focused on their social media/goals than the 9-5. Good job and we need more women like you that are being real with what you really want! A job is just a job!!!
Yesssss!! There’s nothing wrong with your job being just a job/way to support your family and I think it’s great for all of us to go after what we want! Thanks for being so supportive! 🩷🩷🩷
Totally understand why you left NJ. My husband and I left New York for the same reasons. We live in NC (for 13 years) and absolutely love it. Best decision we ever made. ❤
Hi! Fellow NC transplant! We moved from PA!!
Ooh I lived in NC for a couple years and we wanna move back lol
Love this!! Best decision as well! We were thinking about NC at one point too! 🫶🏻💕
@@thejessmajeskiHi there! I’m a NJ transplant too. Been living in NC for a year. Just curious, what makes you want to move back? I’m still struggling with the transition. My husband loves it here lol
Love your transparency! Messaged you years ago. Fellow NJ mom that moved to Houston.. we have a lot in common. Even from the NY salary living in Houston lol. And just your attitude towards things. You’re a joy to watch. All the best to you and your family!❤
Hey mama!! I love that! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch my videos and comment! I love connecting and it’s even cooler that we have so much in common - maybe I’ll see you around Houston at some point! Keep up the great job 🙌🏻🫶🏻
This was such a great video! I LOVE your channel so much. Thank you for sharing this with us! ❤
Thank YOU! So happy you’re enjoying the content and I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment 🩷🩷
You’re the best Amanda! Loved this video. Thanks for sharing all the advice and motivation!
Thank you so much for watching and for the sweet comment 🥹🩷
Love these sit down videos. Your transparency is so refreshing and your a working mom, so relatable ❤
Thank you so much!! Appreciate you taking the time to watch and write this sweet comment 💜💜
Such a great video and very motivating. Thanks so much!
Thank you! So happy you enjoyed it! 🩷
So glad I found you!! You just showed up in my feed 😊❤
Yay! So glad you’re here 💕💕
So glad you’re here in TX! I agree, going from 1 to 2 kids was so hard. Mine are 10 and 8 yrs old now, but they are also 21 mths apart. It really wears on you in so many ways to be a full time working mom who is waking up during the night (with hubby’s help of course) to feed baby and also console the not yet 2 year old. It’s rough and I think it really messes with us mamas over time.
I can’t agree more!! Those early days were really tough and definitely take a toll on us. We’re stronger than we think! 🩷🩷
Wow I can most definitely relate to everything in this video. So glad to hear from another mother's/ wife be realistic about kids and life in general its tough.❤
Yes to this! Makes it better knowing we’re not the only ones experiencing this! Thanks for the comment mama 🩷🩷
I really love your content and the way you present. I was in very need to hear some positive thoughts to be able to overcome the stress and being down as a busy working mom.
Thank you Amanda! Way to go!
Hi! So happy you enjoyed the content and found it helpful! Keep up the great job mama 🩷🩷
Loved the chat! It’s been awhile! Also that color looks amazing on you! Have a great week!
Thank you!! Definitely going to try and do these monthly!! 🩷🩷
I really love your channel! You are definitely one of my top favorite. I literally found you probably less than 2 months ago and I binged watched your videos in a week I think lol when I was sick. You are so pretty and so comforting to watch 😊
Thank you so much!! This was just the sweetest comment and I appreciate you watching 🥹🩷
Amanda this video was so good!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Yay!! Thank you, so happy you enjoyed it! 🩷🩷
I respect you so much for making changes (moving to TX, etc) to make your life better. Great job.
Thank you, I appreciate that! 🩷🩷
Love your channel 😊...I hope you go very far with this and build a career of your dreams
Thank you sm!!! 🩷🎉
Love finding more out about you! I’m originally from Ohio and moved to Tennessee for work and totally agree about the attitudes and overall feeling of “the south” than the Midwest. I’m happy your company has been able to embrace the working from home life and can allow everyone to do what they need to so work gets done. Being a working mom in this state is not really “normal” so there is push back that I get sometimes. But meh. Have a great week!! ❤
Hey there!! Thanks for sharing your as well! So interesting to know that being a working mom in Tennessee these days is still not really normal 🤯 keep up that great job and thanks so much for taking the time to watch my videos and comment! Truly appreciate you 🩷🩷
You’re doing a great job with the working mom content! Just wanted to give you some support! ❤
Thank you so much, needed to hear this today 🩷🩷
Completely feel you on leaving NJ! My hubby and I also met in college but in PA. We couldn’t have afforded the life we dreamed of in PA so we moved to North Carolina. Love this type of video! Thanks for being my Mom friend through RUclips!! 😀
Hey mama!! Thanks so much for the comment! We were looking into NC before we moved to Texas - I could totally see us there as well! 🩷🩷
Amanda, I absolutlely love your channel and can relate to you so much! I work from home too and have a 3 year old daughter. My husband and I have a very hard time connecting because of the craziness in this season of life. Our daughter sleeps with us at night too 😬 and I am a night owl, so trying to learn how to go to bed earlier so she can get good sleep. It's somewhat of a mess, but watching your videos and hearing how transparent you are about your life makes me feel so much better!
PS: We live in Texas as well! About an hour north of Dallas. I wouldn't live anywhere else!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! It’s so great to connect with other working mamas like you who just get it! It can be tough! Keep up the great job! Sending hugs 🩷🤗
This was very refreshing to hear. I am a mom of a toddler and I left my full time job a few years ago because I couldn't manage. I now work part time but I often think about going back full time. It would be nice if you could make a video on household finances. Do you guys save for retirement etc?
Thanks for sharing!! That's a great idea for a video - I can definitely comment on it in a Q&A. One of the huge perks of working (IMO) is that both of our companies offer 401Ks so we both have them and have been absolutely saving for retirement since we started working 15 years ago :)
Hey Amanda! Loved this video, I completely understand what you said about New Jersey I live there and it’s so expensive and stressful wish I could move down south but hard to move away from all my family.
I hear that!! It was the hardest decision to leave and it took me so many years to finally be happy in Texas but it’s still difficult being so far from family 🫶🏻
You are auch a positive person ❤❤
Thank you 🥹🫶🏻
Hi momma! Just want to share how much I loved this video and also I truly enjoy your content! Especially for us mommas out here who work full-time as well. I understand what it’s like to have a little one, live out of state with no family/friends to watch our baby. One thing my boyfriend and I agreed on is we will not allow ourselves to stop “dating”. Our dates are a little different now but here’s what’s worked for us: Going to the gym together that offers childcare, going to church that offers childcare, putting our baby to sleep early and going downstairs to watch a movie together, going to a brewery or restaurant that’s family oriented… You guys got this!! :)
Hello!! So nice to connect with you over shared experiences! Thank you so much for the “dating” advice! I will totally try and incorporate more of that into our weeks! 🤗🩷
I also work
For engineering firm
In texas and its hectic always work work work
Thank you for sharing about the post partum depression and how difficult it was adjusting to 2 kids. We literally had the exact scenario with colic baby and witching hours. Hardest time of my life. I feel like I’m having a normal conversation with you!
Awe thanks for sharing! Those newborn days were no joke and definitely the darkest and hardest thing I’ve ever gone through too! Thank goodness for time! Keep up the great job mama 🩷🩷
I love how relatable you are. I also feel that time between me and my partner has kind of become bothersome. I feel like we just got along and had so much fun then we became mom and dad.. now extra time is catching up on sleep. I love my kids I just miss that US time sometimes. ** queue mom guilt now lol
Omgosh mama you’re speaking my language! It’s SO hard and I often think of the great times (and much easier lol) when it was just me and my husband. I wouldn’t change anything but I definitely feel the necessity to prioritize time with my husband, even though sometimes it feels easier to just watch Netflix alone or something mindless. Keep up the great job…we’re doing our best! 🩷🩷
Crazy! It's like we have the same path! I'm also almost 36 with two girls and have been a marketing manager and now doing RUclips as well.
Get out!! Keep up the great job mama! 🩷🙌🏻
I love your personality legit “REAL” you don’t find people like that often anymore. Wished you lived closer. Lol we would have a blast…
Aw girl i bet we would have so much fun! I love connecting with you and all the others here…it’s so comforting to know we’re all going through it! 🩷🩷
Amanda that was so over the top we all need that talk like you just gave us I really need your video today. THANKS FOR SHARING💘💘💘💘💘💯💯💯💯💯
Thank you so much for watching and writing this sweet comment 🩷🩷
I love your channel! Thank you for sharing. I am 52 years old and in a completely different phase of life than you (I only have one child still at home). I started watching you because I also work remotely, and I have learned so much from you about how to manage and organize my day. Just because you asked about things that make a marriage stronger -- as someone who has been married for a very long time (32 years), I just really recommend eating together with your spouse every evening that it's possible -- without tv or phones. Just that 30 minutes together allows you to reconnect with each other and feel more involved with each other's days. And if you can cook and clean up together, it's even better.
Thank you!! Congrats on 32 years 🎉🎉 so amazing!! Thank you so much for the advice…I definitely want to incorporate eating together into our weekly routines as it can make sure a difference. I appreciate you taking the time to comment! 🫶🏻🩷
Watching all the way from Northern Ireland
Amazing! I’d love to visit some day! 😍
Amanda i had no idea that Jersey was so expensive, i hear you, my grown children will never afford a house in Canada,
a normal sized house is 700,000 dollars, your house in our City in Ontario Canada is worth over 1 million. How do young
people afford homes, we are not all doctors and lawyers, and it hasn't always been this way, we could afford a house
on one income when we were married in the 80's. You should feel proud of your accomplishments for a young couple
you have done so well and your family is beautiful
It’s so wild right?! Thank you so much and have a wonderful weekend! 🩷🩷
Go Dukes! I just graduated from JMU in May!
Duuuuuuukes!!! Congrats on graduating! 💜💛
I definitely felt the same way about moving from 1 to 2 kids!
Yes! It was a rude awakening lol 🤪
Currently have 1 kid who is almost 5 years old and still on the fence about having another one because of this reason 😂 idk if I can handle the stress but also want her to grow up with a sibling😢 we’ll see what happens..
I had no idea you went to JMU! Go Dukes!
Yes loved it! Go Dukes!! 💜💛
I stumbled upon your video and it was so helpful. We have so much in common (both in our 30’s from NJ and moved to another state (NC) for a “better” life, have children 21 months apart (currently a 2 year old and 2 month old. Struggle Bus City) and trying to figure it out. I could relate to almost everything you were talking about from marital topics to kids. I actually don’t enjoy my remote job from NJ lol & want to do something different, but we have to pay the bills. Anyway, just wanted to say the video made me feel better and that I’m not alone. Thank you!
Hi!! Thank you so much for the comment and I love that we have so much in common! You’re definitely not alone and you’re doing a great job, even though it can be tough sometimes with all that we juggle as working moms! Sending hugs 🩷🤗
Love you from Dubai

What made you want to move back to New Jersey once you moved to Texas? What were the cons? I’ve lived in Texas my whole life and would love to move elsewhere so I’m just curious!!! The heat is killing me.
I think it was mostly missing my family and friends…I felt so alone out here and it was really rough until we made friends and finally started feeling like Texas was “home.” The heat is no joke though and I still miss having 4 seasons! 🩷🩷
Love from South Africa ❤🇿🇦 working mom's gotta stick together...lol
Yes absolutely!! Have a great weekend! 🩷🩷
Super random but my sister-in-law went to JMU and is also from New Jersey!
So funny!! I was actually so shocked at the number of people from the tri state area that went to JMU!!
J M U DUUUUUKES!

RUclips needs a good self discipline, 9-5 proves a bit of structure
Thank you for the QnA
Thank you!
I’m curious, does your job support you having a RUclips channel? I’m always curious about that. I feel like they might question doing videos during working hours lol stuff like that. I’m interested in YT as well. Thanks!
Many companies/bosses don’t care how you organize your day, as long as the work is done :)
@@tuilien That is true.. but you know, even if they don't say anything..they might be thinking it and might feel, well if she has time to do that, she should pick up more responsibilities at work... I just think my company might feel this way. I'm in public accounting so we're just always busy.
I keep them totally separate but my ceo is very supportive of people having a work life balance where they feel they have time to pursue the non-work related things they love which is really nice (we have summer Fridays and such)! In all honesty the filming part of it really doesn’t affect my workday at all since it’s just pressing record on a camera but I always prioritize work and get everything done so it’s never been an issue. Totally recommend you start YT if you’re interested - it has been such a blessing and creative outlet for me 🩷🩷
Most people I talk to on the phone for work from NJ and NY are definitely not pleasant. Must be all the stress they deal with from day to day. I usually feel bad for them, actually.
Me too! I used to be one of them 🤣🤣
Try to get a babysitter once a week for date nights
