Probably the best Ryan’s ruclips.net/user/postUgkxGZedDTcDfgD7fG_uU4esfx_EgxzlY2_1 Plans on building a shed is hardly ever found. And Ryan takes the mystery out of different types of foundation options, etc. He even shows how to build a shed with different designs. Very comprehensive, covering different roofing materials, siding, etc.
Would it make sense to shoot some foam into it so that it actually becomes air sealed? I’m sure bugs can still get through the small gaps between the various pipes, right?
Great products, but have a look at 05.30 It looks as if the rubber cover of the Titan outlet is bent in a way that it opens gaps to both sides. I also agree to Pavel, that the space betwen the pipes is problematic.
I want to thank you for bringing this video to us. I reached out to them because I couldn't find it on the website when you made this video. They were very nice and got back with me and even sent me a free one! I have never liked what I have for protection of my HVAC line and wanted to put one like you did at your house but I didn't have a new build so when this came out I was so ecstatic to see it. I have a very small youtube channel dealing with DIY home renovation and other projects and I plan on making a video about it (non sponsored) and they were happy I was doing it. So thank you so much.

Matt You made the statement Freon lines, Freon is a registered trademark of the Chemours Company and is thrown about the various trades. The best nomenclature is to use the Term; Refrigerant Line Set. Nice looking product to provide protection to the line set and to provide weather proofing and penetration seal at the entry point.
super nifty and informative video, Matt! i need 3.5 ton hvac replacement. definitely putting this onto the list. this is a no-brainer. north texas got random rodents that roam around.
America and particularly in the south is in a drought. It'd be neat for you to do a collaboration with the forest service to teach firewise building construction so embers can't be sucked into the HVAC and compromise that home from the inside with fire as well as fire safe landscaping.
This is cool and I can see it's use particularly where direct sun is hitting older insulation. Newer insulation is UV resistant, the white covered type that comes on new line sets. Has anyone seen something like this wrap that also provides insulation value, not just UV protection?
@@buildshow i did find this specific product is sold at home depot but not my local one. I just have to order it which is not a big deal. If companies want to sell products why make it unnecessarily difficult to buy them?
@@95dodgev10 How did you find it at Home Depot? I haven't seen a model number on this yet. And I can't even figure out what it's officialy called. Titan Retrofit or Titan Retro-Fit or Titan Outlet Retrofit, etc.

Is their an Airex product for multizone systems? I am looking for a retrofit solution to flash a 4 zone multizone system. My HVAC tech neglected to flash the penetration before hooking up the ODU. The penetration is an ~8x3 rectangle with 4 line sets exiting a crawl space. Open to suggestions...
You have no idea how long I have been looking for this . However, at timehack 3:45, you show that being installed and there is a plate with drip cap/edge that is already in place on the siding the device is being mounted to. It looks as if you even show them in 3:53 with the two boxes mounted on the house Can you provide any information as to where that might be found. Love your channel - happy I have found.

Do you know when this will be available? It tried the website listed for a residing that we are currently doing. This would be great, but even on the website the retro option couldn’t be found.
Nice! -- QUESTION -- I always wondered why they didn't use a "heat shrink wrap" like they use on electrical terminations - just use a hairdryer type heat source and the plastic melt and creates a water tight end connection on wires. Could be used on this too and would actually be a better solution. Bug free, water tight.
Interesting idea! I wonder if those break down with UV and that’s a big reason it’s not used. The Airex covers are PVC (think flat roofing material) that can go decades in the sun.
@@buildshow ...ah, go figure. Of course they thought of it and it doesn't work.. Sure looked like a possible idea but that damn UV... I always forget about the UV>>>
They also have "cold shrink" tubing. It comes with a plastic form inside that's in a spiral, when you remove it, it shrinks down to the diameter of the pipes or cables.
That’s my favorite comment of the month! Yes. Details matter. Craftsmanship and care mean that we can take pride in our work. I use clear silicone on my installs.
Use the stuff rodents don’t like to chew through. Also, I’ll be filling the end with white big stretch for aesthetics.
I think the bending issue at 5:30 might be overcome by sliding the clamp all the way back closer to the housing.
