Thank you so much for subbing! And yep, sometimes you have to roll the dice. I knew I could make my money back in parts alone so less of a risk but that’s not the point for me. The point is, it’s a rare version now and I want to be one of the few who go above and beyond to save these cars. It’s not going to be rushed, it’ll be done right and hopefully one of the best examples of the SE5 once it’s done.
Might actually be popping over across the country to take a look at a Calibra SE4 thats popped up for sale. Gonna be subscribing as I think this is the first channel Ive seen actively covering the Calibras at all on RUclips. 👍 Best of luck with the SE5
Another fantastic video! Love the car! As he was walking round I swear I could feel your wallet getting lighter 😂 It's a car that looks great from far away, but the closer you get, you see those imperfections 😱 Good luck with the resto, looking forward to updates! Willow is adorable! Love how she just takes centre stage in the video 😂
LOL! Yeah its going to be a labour of love and money! Thanks, there'll be more updates coming when we get started on her. Willow is a little madam, she did highjack the video a bit. She's also more OK with the Calibra now too...
Hi there seen that for sale remember reg can't remember where it was advertised love the SE5 sold mine 14 years ago wish I still had her good luck with her subscribed how's the brake back plates on it had to do both mine in 2003 good luck
Probably Facebook John (little clue in the title 😂😉). I like the SE5, good combination of colour, interior and wheels. Thank you for subscribing, I really do appreciate every single sub. Looking forward to bringing you updates of the build and its finally being done, thanks for the support 👍👍👍
@@OurTim see it now eyes totally missed the Facebook in title went straight to calibra SE5 had 3 calibras in the past looks wise the SE5 and the turbo le where the best looking colour trim wheel combination.
Hi. If its going to take a year [+£5000], a couple of progress reports would be interesting. [The final pics will be good but the defects&repairs more interesting]. Thanks
I just done mechanical restoration and upgrades . On my old vectra b sri dti very rare car now I found lot mechanical bodges on my vectra you know the old vauxhalls have style. I know a guy selling pristine calibra for 7 grand it's showroom condtion se9 I think
Its amazing what you find... why people just don't do things right is beyond me! Oh thats sounds awesome, I know someone who would be interested in that 😉
Install an original stereo either a Grundig sc303 or Philips dc670 commonly fitted to 80s and 90s Vauxhalls such as the cavalier, astra mk2 and carlton. Their easy to find on ebay. OK its a radio cassette but your retaining the cars oem specs, just use a cassette adaptor to 3.5mm jack lead if you want to connect your phone for music :-)
Kudos on the knowledge sir! The SE5 was fitted with a Grundig 4870 cassette player with a Grundig MCD10 10-disc multi-changer in the boot... I'm looking out for both! 👀
@@OurTim yeah I know the model, saw one many years ago on ebay but only the headunit not the CD changer,. The sc303 or dc670 is at least a decent alternative despite no support for CD changer. The grundig sc303 the lcd unit pops out and doubles up as a security panel.
Alwqys risky buying of Facebook and ebay sometimes you get bargins sometimes you get duds. New subby here bud looking forward to more videos feom you.

That is the plan... however the national lockdown is preventing updates. Don't worry though, updates are coming... watch this space!

You have a complete restoration on your hands.Keep it up and a fat wallet🙂
Yep.. it's going to take a while!
How much are these SE5s worth?
Depends on the condition
it hurts looking at that poor calibra. the last owner did not love his car.
Maybe not... but its in the right hands now and it's being saved. Hopefully back on the road for shows in 2021🤞
Shame about the se5 my calibra is gonna cost around a £1000 to get through the mot and get some body corrison
Worth it though, right? 😉
You could do the work a bit by yourself and save little bit 😉
Put it in the bin
😂
