For those who don't know, the reason the songlist is so large and epic is because Konami made this as a farewell release to DDR.
Extreme was the last arcade release for years and had the game not blown up in popularity in the US, may have been the last arcade release ever. And honestly, the game has not been the same since.
Look up the special video that plays when you fully unlock the game. It's an ode to the game's history and a farewell. I always found it sad because it was clear the original DDR team was saying goodbye for good.
    Edit: Here's the video - ruclips.net/video/KoFIZASc8XY/видео.html

No se si aquí se tengan ya comentarios en español pero aquí tenemos la mejor versión DDR realizada por Konami para consolas no solo de Japón sino a nivel general, 111 canciones en Total y aparte se da el lujo de tener 10 canciones bosses en total
    Max300
    Maxx unlimited
    The legend of the Max
    Dance dance revolution
    Trip Machine suvivor
    Paranoia suvivor Max
    Paranoia suvivor

MissingUTAH Not everyone wants to spend time looking for simfiles :P for those inexperienced, a console release is much more accesible and usually contains lots of extra modes as well as things like characters that are more attractive to newcomers and extend replayability. It also adds much more value to songs when you go through the effort to unlock them than simply download it.

I remember my brother had to crack our PS2 to play this game. He had to rip off the front compartment so he could insert a chip that opens up the disk slot. For some reason that would make the PS2 think the game disk was still in. We'd have a "cracked" game disk that we would start with, then insert that chip, then put the DDR Extreme Japan disk in and we could play this at home.
    Best time ever

cyril marasigan DDR EXTREME 2 aimed to pick up where EXTREME left off and added plenty of songs americans previously had no access to, including both PARANOIA Survivor versions, Sakura, some Dancemania classics and more Konami Originals. It also introduced plenty of songs that later appeared in arcade SuperNOVA. Truly one of the better USA releases.

At the time, I was only looking at the brand new songs this game offered (most of them aren't very good in my opinion). Taking a step back and looking at the revivals (and in turn, the original arcade mix which had even more revivals), I can definitely see why people hold this mix in such high regards.

This is the Japanese version. What you have is the US version. Unfortunately the game was heavily altered for it's US release and many songs were cut and replaced. The only way to get this songlist is to import the Japanese PS2 release. And because this release is so good, it's been getting pretty expensive.

@NinjaCamaros1 No, those songs likely appeared on this game first. US releases were constantly playing catchup in terms of new songs.

@Zlandael the US version doesn't have as much as this version, it has way less. Sadly, there's no Afronova ): & the only red songs are The Legend Of MAX, Trip Machine Survivor, & Maximizer.

I remember dancing to The Special's Little Bitch. Was it in the US version? I remember it fondly because I was just getting into punk and ska (which remains as the music that helped me shape my identity, now is almost 13 years later). It was just a lot of fun.

most console versions are different from the arcade ones (especially because arcade machines can hold a lot more songs)

That's interesting. Wonder why the interface of the US version was different. Konami really mishandled this franchise in the US.

    • @10acious_D
      @10acious_D 9 лет назад +1

There are photos floating around on the Internet somewhere that show that the beta version of EXTREME US was gonna be have the same interface as EXTREME JP, along with Party Collection's character select. Furthermore, it had Sweet Sweet Love Magic in the song wheel, and that song was missing from the final product.

Press and hold the left and right arrows together simultaneously on the face of the game cabinet.
I repeat, on the face of the game cabinet, not the left and right arrows on the game pad.
