@@Vallun Do you have a written guide or video on the 80 rotation? I absolutely love Weaver and it's my first class. I want to master it even though other classes can do way more for less as well as it being a glass canon.
At one point I considered weaver, but ultimately gave it up because it seemed overly complicated for me. After watching this... I feel I made an informed and sensible decision. lol
I've been trying it and I can say, when we are doing content with a party my DPS is the lowest unless I use the correct rotation like super focused and others spamming some skills or auto attacking with buffs like a Herald, seriously it is fun to use but to play it feels really hard to make it work and kill stuff fast, I am doubting into moving to a Catalyst with Quickness and Dagger

Can't stress how fun this build is in PVP! It was really confusing at first and I'm still far from 'good' at utilizing weaver's full power, but I've grown some muscle memory after 10~15 rounds and now I just can't go back to my Reaper anymore.. tysm for sharing this awesome build 🙏
Totally new to guild wars.. But this is the class I want to play. It's going to take time for sure but thanks for the video. This was the only weaver video I found that could break down how the class works and what I need to do. Ty ty ty
Thank You for this inspiration for a build. For several years elementalist never felt right to me and now it is one of my favorite classes because of this video!
These videos always make me want to try the build because Vallun’s skill makes them all look really fun and viable. Then I remember that I have nowhere near enough time to get gud at them lol. Here’s hoping Vindicator allows Revenant to be a better duelist so I can stand a chance against the one shot weavers and thieves in wvw
Thank you for your All-In-One builds, they always look like a lot of fun and I will potentially try all of them! I tried your weaver build and rotation but gave up after a few hours at the golem - it's way too complicated for me! What did work was changing up two traits in the weaver traitline and alternating between fire and earth for the double element boost. It's probably a bit less boons, especially protection, but the damage and might uptime is good. For more survivability I will need to get muscle memory for evades, water field blasting and cc down. Working on it!
I truly wish to try weaver because I like the playstyle (I usually gravitate towards melee characters). The sheer amount of combos deters me from this. I'm not a very dexterous person. Remembering and executing all of these tends to be too much for me. Still this video has inspired me to try. Will give it a go. Thanks for the informative video.
I use a Sword/Dagger variant of this with a power setup and I am unkillable, I can kill oceans of elite mobs with my eyes closed and only get stronger the more they stand in my fire fields and hit my flame aura. Bosses take a little while to kill - perhaps condi variant might do better there - but only a legendary boss can hurt me because their hits are just so big that I can't heal or tank it reliably while also damaging them. Weaver is awesome for solo PvE. :D
2:30 In case anyone is not a fully committed gw2 player, this equipment point is where you walk away. This is not easy to get. It will be really time consuming. Dungeons are abandoned content and you need to do alot to get a full set of these runes. Celestial is either really expensive to buy or time gated if you craft it yourself (2 days per piece).
Based on the arenas i did before and after the change, damage is lower, i used to have around 20% of total team damage done, but now i barely get to 15% usually being at 10%. I also see it in my opponents, with staff or non weaver dagger signets build i used to burst down weaker targets fairly quick, now i have to brawl with them so much i actually start losing. Healing done is also slightly lower by around 5%. KDA ratio is the same mostly (between 1:1 and 3:1 on average). Now i understand my low rank and little experience are also at fault, but assuming i get better with this style i will just reach the stats of my current non weaver build. So why would i bother using a much more complicated rotation for the same results. I would have understood if it was fun, but it's more difficult to maintain all those things than fun. For PVE i suppose would be enjoyable, but the pressure in pvp makes this build very unpleasant and uncomfortable.
I just finally finished unlocking weaver on my ele and although it’s for sure the hardest class to play with little damage (so far) I find myself wanting to play it over things like my mechanist and my virtuoso because it’s harder to play. I just hope I can get it down eventually.
Good lord! I am sure now that I made a mistake choosing Weaver for my first character to level 80. No wonder I die if I take on more than a few mobs at once.

I'm also using this build. I just have one thing to add: sigil of mischief is not that useful on pve because many mobs especially champs are immune to blind
Sigil of mischief works well to proc traits that use blind, which admittabily I don't think ele many, and to have a spike in power damage. Also blind is a soft cc and it's nice to have a source of blind, as soft ccs benefit from being unique to help with champ break bars.

Man thanks a lot again for this build, you are using almost the same as I do even in trait lines, but there is no way I can play like that in less than a year unless I focus on my Weaver only and also going for Ascended (using exotics now). Also my DPS wasnt as bad as I thought, I read you usually will be doing 9/12k DPS alone with all Ascended as a standard in any build, is it because that is based con more cookie cutter builds like Zerker, Viper, etc?

How dead is this build now? I love the concept, just in general and also the fact that it works for all game modes. However, Rune of Sanctuary for example no longer gives barrier when healed, which in particular seems like a big change.
Is pyromancer croissants that much more viable than blindness? I like the idea of 100% dmg mitigation vs losing all my might for some more burn. Considering burning is of no short supply and might is important.
every 8 seconds is not that often, but if you keep going in and out of fire attunement, sure you lose might but you are constantly burning things and gaining that might back
@@Vallun yeah, I think if you are running with a team and want a supportive edge that skill would totally be viable. As you then become a might fountain for your group. But if you are soloing, I think losing 30% base dmg eveytime you leave fire is detrimental to your output. You can regain it like you said. But might effects current dmg. Right, so if you apply bleed and then get a stack of might, the bleed dmg you already applied goes up. Flip that around, if you lose might the bleed you already applied goes down. So when you pop out of fire, all your conditions decrease in dmg by quite a bit. I suppose if you are rock solid at maintaining might then it is viable. I think I suck at that a bit and I run solo.
@@Vallun Yes, it is indeed less barrier, but it's 'barrier over time'. I play a similar build but with d/d and 4 stances and find that Rune of the Weaver provides more 'burst barrier' for the 'oh crap' situations - especially useful for solo roaming in WvW - at least from my experience.
@@edward_edo well if you run 4 stances then it can be good, but are you running 4 stances to use weaver rune or are you using weaver rune because you use 4 stances? If i have to change my playstyle too much to get a synergy its often not worth it
@@Vallun Wasn't really thinking like that when I put together my version of the build, but good point. I just feel that active stability application is lacking so Stone Resonance is a must for me, and it's super busted with extra barrier from the rune. Then I take ToF over Glyph of Elemental Power (2 stun breaks 75 sec cooldown + barrer vs 1 stunbreak 30 sec cooldown + extra damage). I'm left with 1 utility slot which goes to Primordial stance for extra damage+sustain (barrier) on low cooldown. I realise that I sacrifice the mobility by not taking Lightning Flash, but it just fits my personal playstyle better. P.S.The 4th stance is the elite
Trailblazer works great, too. Tankier and significantly better damage over time, but less burst and healing. I like to run it with undead rune and fire/earth to really ramp up the damage reduction and stack condition damage to crazy levels. But in my opinion the fire/arcane celestial build is better sustain and more fun to play!
Heya Vallun, Long time listener, First time caller.. Are the Superior Runes Of Sanctuary your preferred rune for this build in WvW say over the Superior Rune of Speed ? I like the sound of having a beefy barrier in WvW but not to keen on loosing swiftness duration.. Thanks mate!
the idea of this build isnt just for wvw, if you go to my dedicated wvw fire weaver i use speed runes, if i want sustain everywhere then i go sanctuary
Hey, I've been playing GW again for 3 months now and I've decided to play Elementalist and I'm playing the bouild shown above, although nowhere near as well but I love it! I'm currently looking into how much DPS one should reach and have found numbers from 20-40k.... But I only manage about 6k and Vallun has "only" 7k on the Golem... Is that just bad or are 20-40k too exaggerated??? can someone give me a bit of info?
the 20-40k is exaggerated by buffs given by the console, and also those builds are designed for doing only DPS so ofc they will do more damage when its a dps golem not pressuring them back
how to deal with bosses that only can be hit by ranged atk?(period) E.g. some boss got small blue circle, you can only deal dmg in that blue are,and somtimes it turns into a bigger circle and you can only deal dmg from range…hope you understand (english not good)
Yes it does. I run it, with small deviations and I am functionally immortal in PvE, the only thing that can down me is a legendary boss IF that boss also hits for absurd amounts of direct damage. Weaver is god-tier in PvE.
Haven't played for a couple of years so idk how the game & community is these days, but would a celestial or trailblazer weaver be accepted in fractal groups, anyone know?
Superior Rune of Sanctuary technically isn't all healing but all active healing and 20% of a couple hundred here and there (the trait and heal skill passive) isn't very much. Combo'ing water the field will get most of the impact of the rune. Around 1300 base healing per finisher so about 260 barrier each finish. About 1k barrier if you use 4 finishers which you may not want to spend all at once. Only over a long duration will Sanctuary be helpful but most like people won't spend 10+ minutes solo'ing a group event. Even then you are just adding up small amounts of barrier over a long period of time. Then taking Sigil of Torment to increase damage seems a bit weak. If you want more damage run a more damaging rune set. Antitoxin runes, Balthazar runes, etc. are decent choices. Or use torment sigil with a more damaging rune set if one wanted. Almost all boon duration runes are defensive so along with cele stats makes it take longer to actually kill anything/anyone.
The point is to be defensive, especially when weaver has plenty of damage alreadt. Sanctuary runes is like light protection because it has barrier up always reducing every attack to not feel squishy. Torment sigil triggers extra healing from signet so its a balance of defense and offense. IF you want more dps in situations where the mobs dont fight back then by all means go balthazar and vipers
@@Vallun Cele weaver is capable of decent damage because ele has easy access to stacking might and cele makes it easier due to the boon duration. In pve the damage fine but against decent players is another issue (which you kind of admit to in the video). Sanctuary is basically worse regen when actively getting heals from using skills/swapping attunements. Saying a weak pulsing barrier makes you not feel squishy is silly. It won't save you from burst as you admit the stance traits helps more with that. The point you say is to be defensive but you say in the video to add torment for damage when it is minimal. It proc the heal passive once for 202 base heal (171 pvp/wvw) that is ~40 barrier baseline on a 5 sec cd. I am talking about building cele weaver better not going for more damage and playing a dps fractal/raid build. If any new player tried vipers weaver they would probably be crying about downstate ele on the forums. The point is if you are playing cele weaver adding torment runes for "defense and offense" makes little sense as if you are lacking damage there are better rune sets out there.
my dedicated WvW build is more optimized to use speed runes or antitoxin runes, the link to that video is in the description. This version works too but is more generalized, due to the premise of the series.
@@Vallun I have seen that video. I questioned the rune choice there as you were saying to use speed runes on fire weaver. Yeah it can work but I still find the build choices weird.
Cool build but my Ele is a minor alt i play around from times to times and this is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too much for the amount of efforts im willing to put into it. Already doing the piano rotation thing on Holo. Cele Tempest is also pretty good and a lot simplier.
thats quite the antithesis to this. Maximum dps and survivability don't come together. You'll need fire earth traits and full vipers for that max dps playstyle
Getting anyone to play HotW is a nightmare. It's been 9 years and I still haven't even done the story mission. I would recommend: 1) Use a different profession/build to solo the Story Mode 2) Use 160 PvP or WvW potions (to complete the reward track twice) 3) Open the armour boxes from the reward track 4) Use Black Lion Salvage Kit on the armour pieces to get 2 Runes. Use the 480 Symbols of Koda (from Reward Track) to buy the other 4 Runes. 5) Ensure you keep upgrade extractors (6) somewhere so that you can retrieve those Runes should you ever decide to swap them somewhere else. 6) ??? 7) Grofit
@@zenzit3479 if you're saying because you want fireworks on your necro and mesmer and want to use the same gear, then yes you can always be suboptimal for convenience sake. Would I in any circumstance use fireworks if i had other options? probably not
you can do the story mode of honor of the waves dungeon to unlock the pvp reward track then salvage the gear you get there for the runes, or just get it from the dungeon vendor by doing explorable paths
Sorry but I still prefer condi weaver sword dagger. Far more versatile anywhere. Maybe I will build power weaver for CM's but I doubt it. Condi Weaver just smashes.
@@LiveAndLaughs I am using it with dagger for more damage and blasting fields. I am immortal in PvE. The more enemies attack me, the more powerful I get. It's crazy.
I mained support ele in wvw for years, but other than that very specific iteration of the class, I'm just not into the class enough to invest my 'git gud' points into weaver, which is just too complicated and vulnerable without that investment. For open world I have a FA tempest build that uses glyphs and ogre runes so I have pets tanking for me while I freecast scepter pew pew. It works well for somebody who's never put the time in to master a dps ele. IF I ever change my mind about weaver, I'd like to do something more like your wvw scepter weaver, that seemed more aesthetically gratifying. More 'wizardly'.
I was thinking this for the longest time but recently tried weaver and its not as scary as it first seemed. Ofc theres alot of muscle memory involved but if you have time to practice i think weaver is the most fun class in the game. Just give it a go, im sure you can do it if you put your mind to it!

WOW! Just wow.
Hey does using rune of elememtalist fine for this build in pve group contain mainly?
Great video, havent finished yet. :)) Have you tried mixing in more condition damage with trailblazer, few trinkets maybe?
You rely on healing power from celestial for lot of the sustain
Is that just bad or are 20-40k too exaggerated??? can someone give me a bit of info?
the 20-40k is exaggerated by buffs given by the console, and also those builds are designed for doing only DPS so ofc they will do more damage when its a dps golem not pressuring them back
how to deal with bosses that only can be hit by ranged atk?(period)
E.g. some boss got small blue circle, you can only deal dmg in that blue are,and somtimes it turns into a bigger circle and you can only deal dmg from range…hope you understand (english not good)
for that you play with a scepter
would this build work today aswell?
Yes it does. I run it, with small deviations and I am functionally immortal in PvE, the only thing that can down me is a legendary boss IF that boss also hits for absurd amounts of direct damage. Weaver is god-tier in PvE.
Haven't played for a couple of years so idk how the game & community is these days, but would a celestial or trailblazer weaver be accepted in fractal groups, anyone know?
Is this build still valid now, a year later?
Sanctuary does not seem to be around anymore. I cant find it at the trade post :(
its a dungeon rune
@@Vallun Hey it's me again. My buddy Lars says he knows you. I told him I play GW2 and he mentioned you. I told him I already watch your videos.
Please do one of these for Catalyst!
Cool build but my Ele is a minor alt i play around from times to times and this is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too much for the amount of efforts im willing to put into it. Already doing the piano rotation thing on Holo. Cele Tempest is also pretty good and a lot simplier.
Nice.
Kinda sucks sanctuary doesn’t do the barrier anymore but other than that it’s nice
Would this work for Raids if you are aiming for max dps ?
thats quite the antithesis to this. Maximum dps and survivability don't come together. You'll need fire earth traits and full vipers for that max dps playstyle
can you recommend an alt to sanctuary .
pack or elementalist or antitoxin
Is this build still viable? I tried the raiding beginner weaver build and am getting demolished by mobs in HoT.. so frustrating
yes viable. Dont use the raid ver for open world. Raid version are for pure dps and assumes other people are healing and providing u the max boons.
guardian can hit healing skill every 3 seconds if he gets the proc, weaver dont need to use the healing skill,Checkmate
i went weaver.. using the button mash method.. it’s hit or miss lol
Any alternatives to sanctuary runes? No one does HotW :/
leadership, pack, even durability. Any rune with boon duration on it and some sustain
Getting anyone to play HotW is a nightmare. It's been 9 years and I still haven't even done the story mission.
I would recommend:
1) Use a different profession/build to solo the Story Mode
2) Use 160 PvP or WvW potions (to complete the reward track twice)
3) Open the armour boxes from the reward track
4) Use Black Lion Salvage Kit on the armour pieces to get 2 Runes. Use the 480 Symbols of Koda (from Reward Track) to buy the other 4 Runes.
5) Ensure you keep upgrade extractors (6) somewhere so that you can retrieve those Runes should you ever decide to swap them somewhere else.
6) ???
7) Grofit
@@Vallun How would you rate runes of fireworks for it? It also fits some other arcane/cele builds on nec and mesm
@@zenzit3479 if you're saying because you want fireworks on your necro and mesmer and want to use the same gear, then yes you can always be suboptimal for convenience sake. Would I in any circumstance use fireworks if i had other options? probably not
I recommend Aristocracy rune. It'll keep your might stack bumping up against 25 stacks for most of the fight.
What spec is next? Give us a hint! And lets make it Power for the power creep
power scrapper
Still viable?
But what relic are u using?
This build is 2 years old when relics were not a thing :) Now, if the build is still valid, I would choose Foreworks or Fractal.
Bruh weaver so out of meta that its the only Vallun video youtube did not notify me about, had to scrolll down to randomly see it on my list.
vallun I m sorry bro I stick to renegade ele is kind of complicated
How do i get the Rune of the Sanctuary?
you can do the story mode of honor of the waves dungeon to unlock the pvp reward track then salvage the gear you get there for the runes, or just get it from the dungeon vendor by doing explorable paths
Sorry but I still prefer condi weaver sword dagger. Far more versatile anywhere. Maybe I will build power weaver for CM's but I doubt it. Condi Weaver just smashes.
Whats the pvp rotation??
Is this still viable?
Very.
Is this build still relevant?
So did u ever try it?
@@ninjacuttingonions5861 No i didn't
@@Remox1738 I tried it today and feels pretty good.
@@ninjacuttingonions5861 you still using it?
@@LiveAndLaughs I am using it with dagger for more damage and blasting fields. I am immortal in PvE. The more enemies attack me, the more powerful I get. It's crazy.
Just started playing Weaver today... yep it was a mistake lol
Hi, can I use a staff in this build? Would the loss of dps be too big?
if you want to use staff do it with the fresh air tempest build in the playlist in the description
More 'wizardly'.
what race
I find it funny that you say it’s one of the hardest classes to learn. It’s literally the ONLY class I know. 🤣
One ele build to suck in all game modes 🥳
nothing compeers..nothing compares with TEMPEEEST!!!! :D
Just call them mom and dad dude.
don't be weird
now i know that i will not touch weaver, my brain exploded XD
I was thinking this for the longest time but recently tried weaver and its not as scary as it first seemed. Ofc theres alot of muscle memory involved but if you have time to practice i think weaver is the most fun class in the game. If you think of things simply (as in each attunement as a specific role as vallun described) it becomes much easier and over time you can learn the confusing shit he says as just second nature. Just give it a go, im sure you can do it if you put your mind to it!
@@lilijhonston maybe some day i will try thanks :D
@@Winicjuszek I wish you luck if you do!
Nice tho but too many click
So overpowered Anet removed them from the game lmao
Tempest > Weaver
hello, how do we get the pahua badge?
hey check out the guildjen.com gearing guide you dont necessarily need to craft pahuas gear as you can just get stat selectable ascended, but trailblazer can be obtained from the WvW currency from the provisioner at every spawn in WvW
@@Vallun thanks ;)
