  • We are building a Nudura Frost protected foundation for a camp. I will show you how we do it and you can save yourself some money. This is a good foundation for areas where it is to wet to do a full basement or there is bedrock or stone and to difficult to excavate.

Just remember, if it was easy everyone would be doing it! Many a time we got the mixers buried and had to get the Wrecker (Mother) to come in to get them out. Some jobs were memorable. We didn't use pumps much and would double and a few times triple chute with 16' chutes to get it in, as long as there was height for it. fun times though

I like you guys and your channel. I think the excavator on that particular project sucks and is incompetent. I’d have never left a site in such a handicapped state thus crippling every crew with soil that’s not graded for drainage or leaving huge rocks to stumble and drive over unnecessarily, creating unsafe tripping hazards as well as making it difficult for the trucks. You are way more patient than I

Make the back of the box out of plywood and you end up with more concrete behind the beam pocket. I guess you have an 8" wall instead of a 6" wall so who cares.

Hey Bondo nice job here. I'm getting ready to have my first experience with Nudura in a few weeks here in Utah. It's hard to understand since I retired 4 years ago from this crap. LOL... But since it's my own shit I'm coming out of retirement for this job. Anyway, will you tell me about what the price of those blocks are in your area so I have an idea when the local distributor gives me a quote. I always like to know beforehand about what they should be so I know if I'm getting my ass reamed or not. Thanks man.

@@bondobuilt386 : Thanks for the info. Really appreciate it. It's just gonna be an addition actually. Adding a Cold Storage under a larger front porch in the basement at about 27x8. And extending one end of the house 10'- the house is 30' deep so adding a 10'x30' area to the house (basement and main level). Also adding a 35'x40' attached garage to the end of the house getting the extension. Gonna just use the ICF because I sold all my forms and other crap when I retired and I sure don't feel like renting and bucking up forms on a 8' basement. ICF should be easy and I'm seeing all the fun you and your guys are having I just can't resist the pain. LOL... The main level will all be stick framed to match what is already there; it's a 1968 house that we bought in 2018. I guess I'm just too stupid or high strung to fully understand what "retirement" means.

    Hi Ron,
I was just on a site that was critiquing 3d printed houses and they were saying concrete has a problem with cracking no matter whether fiber or rebar is installed and it got me wondering does the same thing happen with Nadura and other similar products. They were focusing on the aesthetics and I'd venture the counter argument to that is it would be hidden with Nadura and similar products. Has anyone done an investigation into the cracking happening with Nadura and similar?

@@bondobuilt386 I worked for a guy in Toronto 23 yrs ago , he always used water reducer in the batch to get enough flow to get it in around the webs . It was an early set mix , by the time you made one trip around with the pump the bottom pour was firm enough for the next . We always pumped with a double 90 and a reducer to reduce it to 3" . never had a blowout with that setup . The last bunch I worked with in Quinte just keep dumping water into it to get it to move , they are going to have a big mess on their hands some day . If your supplier is keen on the business from you he will have to get it dialed in . I think the stop /start of the mixer auger plays with the slump somewhat , I wonder if it really has enough time to mix properly before it is out of the chute for these types of applications
