FLOE is an adventure-strategy game where players embark on heroic quests across an icy landscape. You’ll discover long-lost secrets on uncharted icebergs, sail the seas to find adventure and sunken treasure and delve into perilous caves to find precious crystals and battle fearsome monsters.
Despite the dangers ahead, you won’t be alone in your travels. Always at your side, your loyal familiar may help gather resources or jump into the fray to turn the tide of battle. During their travels, heroes will also gain helpful allies, powerful abilities, and rare items. In time, heroes may also build shrines across the map, ensuring their legacy will be long remembered.
However, always beware of the cold. Venturing into the icy wasteland is perilous: almost everything heroes do outside the safety of the village will cost them warmth. From time to time, they will need to return to the village to warm up, improve their homestead, purchase upgrades, and prepare for their next big adventure.
Will you be the boldest explorer of them all?
FLOE features a unique region-to-region movement system that allows heroes and sailboats to navigate the realm with ease; only the natural shapes of the ice and seas are used to determine movement, so you never need to count squares on a grid.
Additionally, after each game, players unlock Floe Stone stickers they use to track Village progress. By reaching certain milestones, they can open envelopes and unlock new gameplay experiences that expand the realm and reveal long-lost lore about the Crystal Kingdom.

I'm totally with you on the backlog issue. As your backlog rises and your storage room shrinks the hurdle to pass to back a game grows higher where even 8/10 or 4/5 just doesn't cut it anymore. Fantasia, I backed Endless Winter and Unconscious Mind In case you were wondering. This is a very tough decision.
Yep, it’s kinda madness
I've missed Jessie and the team! It's been a while since I've seen coverage on a game I'm interested in, but I've stuck around as a subscriber nonetheless. Love the look of this one and the long wait is going to hurt.
Thanks so much :) we should have more classics coming soon
I skipped right to your impressions due to lack of time but damn I liked the back and forth of you guys. Great conversation!
Thank you!!
What’s the timestamp for impressions…?

@@raphaelstocker9874thanks
01:51:51 is the post play-through impressions
Talks at the end were really well done.
I love this format.
I'm looking forward to this. I really enjoyed Endless Winter and while I know this is wildly different, I feel like it will use the same mental muscles.
I really like this game because it’s an adventure game that could be good to play with kids. That would get them to want to play more adventure games. With a game like this you have to think of it like a family game. I think kids from 7-11 would love this game. It’s not too hard for them and it’s not so boring for an adult.
There is no way that a 7 year old can play this game. Too many disjointed mechanics.
What age group is this game for then?
@@abrahambardalez4703 From the plays that I've seen it is 14+
Because you need to make strategy on the long run since the beginning to have a run for points at the end.
Best video this week 🐦😁
Its weird that they went with a tile exploration approach yet you only have 6 tiles. Would be interesting to see twice the amount.
it might have been different in the rules that came with the prototype, but in the ruleset on the Kickstarter page it states discovering/unveiling a new map tile can only be done by boat. Also, the encounter flag/token is placed on the sea-encounter (on the unveiled tile) closest to the village.
Yea, the rules on KS are more updated than ours. We were working with two versions.
This game looks cool but it launching just before Wroth and my budget being limited prevented me from backing it. It'll definitely be one I keep an eye on when it comes to retail next year though!
Honestly more worth to back this than Wroth since Wroth doesn't really any campaign exclusives with it and you can just pick it up retail for probably cheaper.
@@Unit17 campaign exclusives aren't really a concern of mine and CTG historically increases prices for their games post-crowd funding, which is the biggest allure of buying them during crowdfunding. CTG is also my favorite publisher and I know they'll deliver great quality -- especially for the solo experience, which is what I primarily play as.
Yea, that checks out :)
