DeMeco Ryans was a Team Captain as a rookie, bc he could already read offensive lineups and call defensive audibles getting his teammates in the best positions. Andd you know he already knows defenses, so basically hes more than just a defensive guy, he can analyze offenses like Peyton Manning could. Ive personally seen him at MLB for the Texans vs the Colts with Manning at the helm, and ive seen Peyton get so frustrated many times bc DeMeco would call an audible, and Peyton would re-audible to get advantage, then boom DeMeco calls a new audible and taking the advantage back and time was too close to running out so he would be forced to burn time outs and he would get fkn pissed and verbal. Ryans is a special kind of HC, a players coach who knows offense and defense, and has an extremely high football IQ. I mean he already has a winning record as a HC, and he started out with a rookie OC, a rookie QB and a previous year record of 2 wins and ended up winning the Division Championship and won a playoff game in a blowout fashion.

Texans owners have had the hammer on head coaching hires since the franchise’s inception. Culley (Janice) was waiting for Nick when he arrived in Houston as was DC Lovie Smith (Cal.) While GMs get to recommend hires, Nick had no say in Lovie. Those two did not get along. It was an unusual situation and Cal pulled the trigger there. Caserio recommended Gannon but that was a nonstarter for other reasons, and Nick fell head over heels in love with DeMeco recommending him just 24 hours after “meeting” him on the Zoom interview. Now part of the job as Texans GM is to take the blame for bad hires, and Nick did so. And whoever thinks Nick is like Belichick is 100% off base. Everything Nick brought to Houston was pretty much diametrically opposed to how Bill did things. Completely different belief systems as relates to player acquisition. After his daddy tried four different times to hire Nick, Cal was able to ignore Korn Ferry (and just about everyone else offering ‘sage advice’) and closed the deal with Nick and it has become quite the success story.

People wanted Casario gone after the Watson debacle because of what happened with Bill O’Brien when he traded our best wr for peanuts. There was blood in the water even before what went down with Watson. Crazy what ended up happening with that guy. Texans definitely dodged the bullet on that one, but it took a few years to get back to being competitive .

    🐝SWARM !!!
I always believed in Nick , even when everyone hated on him and said he had to go. It was crazy even sports analyst called him the worst GM in the NFL. He came to Houston with the toughest job and he had to be the the bear of bad news and release players and get us out of bad back ended contracts left by Bill O’Brien . We were a team that had no identity due to letting go of all our vets and just had to ride the wave until we could put the pieces together. He was viewed as the bad guy and the organization went through the media brain wash of being racist and all the progressive garbage which I hated for the McNair family. I know Bob loved his players and this city. The part of hiring 2 coaches before DeMeco were temporary fillers until we could get the right man with Nicks mindset. They aced it in DeMeco 🙌🏼. I want to believe JJ will come back for a final year to give back to what this city lost. He has some people still going off emotions and saying we don’t need him that he left us. We sure the hell do need him !! Not only on the field but his leadership and knowledge !! Him coming back could be the fairy tale ending every boy that picks up a ball has ever dreamed about. He can retire with a ring and can officially hang up his cleats with pride and live as the father and husband with no regrets . I would love to see him as a defensive line coach for us somewhere down the line so I will pray to baby Jesus this is manifested to a reality 💆🏻‍♂️🙇🏻‍♂️🙏🏼
