I actually really liked this game. When it came out, it was one of the first games that demonstrated the visual power of the PS4. Everything else just naturally proceeded it. Still looks amazing! 👌
Yeah I didn't play it cuz I was younger and price/playtime was high on release for me it was on sale for $10 and I'm loving it. I think maybe the negative was someone feeling bummed for 60$ for 6/7 hours probs could do longer or faster ofc
And that is all it is: a tech demo. Can barely call it a game. It's basically an interactive movie with a simple story, bad plot devices and mediocre writing. The gameplay is the most generic linear cover shooter that ever was. It's a shame really that there wasn't much of a game in this movie. I could have been so much more if they had tried to make the gameplay actually interesting. I mean look at Gears of War, which is a direct inspiration for this game as far as gameplay mechanics go and that one is actually a pretty decent game when it comes to the shooting mechanics. It feels like it was made by some movie producers that barely know anything about video games. So watching a game movie about it is the best option. I am glad GLP covered it, but even as a movie its not much to write home about. Too bad because they got it right with the setting and world building and some interesting characters, but the rest is just too shallow. But as a steam punk movie, it is worth a watch.
This game was incredible. No bugs, alluring story, attracting characters, sinister plot, intense atmosphere, great gameplay, awesome & exciting theme etc. This game had it all. It's a shame they didn't to anything with it afterwards. It could have been a very good franchise. I wish they took this game further. God it would've been great, just thinking about it makes me sad 😥
@@KrisNorse Hellblade is another great example of a great game, indeed. I loved my experience with the story. It was thrilling, gripping & had me on edge every moment. I'm so hyped to play the sequel 😁
The order reminds me of gears of war but old style and it’s crazy to see a walkthrough when I just played the game for the second time on the ps5 because how good the game is.
The problem with this game is that it was basically a interactive movie than a actual game. I assure y’all, if they had gone that route and make this game a CGI movie instead, it would have been a mayor HIT. 😉
According to one theory, Blackwater, the substance that gives the Knights of the Order their exceptional abilities, is nothing more than an incomplete philosopher's stone. Some legends about the philosopher's stone attribute to it the ability to bestow immortality and heal a human being from any type of injury or disease, however the Blackwater being an incomplete product, it does not give immortality, but a longevity lasting centuries or transmits a human being into a shape-shifting creature.
That might explain how Galahad found out about the vampires toward the end. Long term use of the blackwater is what turned them into vampires, possibly. That's why the higher ups kept it a secret, they didn't want the order finding out, as you can imagine what would have happened if they did.
If we believe the theory that Blackwater is the origin of the Half breeds, then it is more a genetic predisposition common among most humans, than a side effect due to consumption at long run of the mystical substance. Probably, only 10% of them can drink Blackwater without showing any mutagenic effect on their body and it is very probable that among this low percentage of people the knights of the Order are chosen.
The world that was created for this game is interesting and well thought out. It is a shame that this is the only entry in the series, I would really have liked to see where they were going to take this. While it was more of an interactive movie, in a way, this is one of the few games I ever bothered to platinum. The gameplay is alright at best. But the visuals, character design, environment, etc. It all comes together very nicely. If there ever was an IP for a larger studio to pick up, this would be one of them.
Ikr maybe they held out too long and the creative talent scattered. Like there was a mortal kombat series that just was in negotiation limbo and dissapeared, this kinda reminds me of that.
Galahad's Powers/Skills: High Intelligence. Expert Hand To Hand Combat. Expert Weaponist. Expert Marksmanship. Healing Via The BlackWater Drink. Peak-Human Strength, Durability, Reflexes, Endurance, Speed, Agility, Stamina. Expert at Stealth.
Great twist at the end, and yeah the graphics are very well done. I wasn't sure if I'd like this, and though it started slow, it kept getting better through the end.
Just finished playing this, it may not have been the best mechanically or gameplay wise but holy crap the story, the score and the graphics were Amazing! Totally Underrated and I hope it’s gets a sequel. Not to mention I would totally be Into this as a live action series! 🔥
@@dandydolphin64 i hated it idk including the samey enemies and the lame puzzles, also the whole realistic "mental depression hearing voices" or whatever did nothing for me, but yeah my point was just that if the order was actually looked in the same light/genres as ryse and hellblade it probably would have rated better vs most at the time expected it to be a full on action game like a gears or doom rather than a cinematic walking sim like experience with light combat and gameplay... hopefully they do something again with the IP because the premise definitely was dope
One thing I don't like about this story, twords the end, when Sir.Galihad is on trial he could have stood up and said "Lord Chamberlin is a VAMPIRE! TEST HIM! TEST HIS BLOOD AT LEAST IF YOU DO NOT BEALIEVE ME! AND HIS SON! TEST THEM BEFORE I DIE FOR ALL THE YEARS I HAVE SERVED! SEE HIM FOR WHAT HE IS! You owe me that much..... yourselves that much. The storyline is so cliche, the establishment always portrayed as evil. This is like avatar where the storyline push us to be blue monkey lover. BS if you ask me
These graphics are incredible. Hard to believe this game was made in 1886
😁
Haha
lmaoooo
What kind of bullshit is this?
Obviously they made the game 3 years before released. So it was from 1883
well, it's a documentary so it makes sense why graphics look good. Shame how they moved from guns to stabbings.

A dam good interactive movie you could say
It fits perfectly with this channel, know any other games likea movie too?
Fr it may have been movie like but let's be honest,it had a better story build than that travesty last of us two.
The voice acting is phenomenal
I loved the ending, I still remember it all these years later

we need a sequel man.
This game deserves a sequel. Story is fascinating
super underrated given the scores given to say ryse or hellblade
It’s a shame this didn’t get a sequel. Though hopefully it would’ve altered the camera.
It is awesome I like it the story is great and amazing and intended in joy it thanks for the video
watching you roll into the grenade after it landed in ur face was gold 😂
This game has a really good cliffhanger
I want a proper RPGish sequel on PC :( Amazing looking game with great atmosphere.
Not everything needs rpg elements, its a distraction. The world had enough open world RPG online crossovers that are painfully mediocre.
They need to continue the story! Even if it's in a novel form.
Cool premise, someone should take another crack at it
A solid fucking game, needs a sequel

What happened to the torture scene in the beginning?

Of all the games Sony bring to the PC, I wish this would be the next one.
2:22:23 - are they saying the commissioner is Sherlock Holmes here? Just a throwaway or did it come up in lore/gameplay?

I kind of get how the main characters have all the high tech weapons (for that time period), but how does everyone else also have them?
I believe Nikola supplied them
Sony make a sequel!!!
The Witcher: 1886
Never should've sold my CE copy
'pull me up!'

Always wonder why they allow the lycanthropes to transform instead of shooting them while they´re at it
Who was the hooded man that saved Gray
Why he didn’t said out loud the dude was a werewolf and the other a vampire
Any chance that his ancestor was Charles Lee?)
Probably, since it's made in the same universe as AC but not canon to it. I wouldn't be surprised. Looks just like him.
The only good abt this game is the cinematography ahead of its time then~
The most American Frenchman. As An American I feel offended but not in a bad way.
Who said that this game sucked!?
Damn. If Bloodborne had a steampunk scenario.
Hopefully Part 2 was waiting for PS5 so they could make an open world that would fry the ps4.
