Years ago they stayed at our place over night! The reason? Discrimination was all over the world aswell as here in The Netherlands (even in my home town! In the afternoon they asked for rooms at Hotel Hilvertshom; they told them 'we are fully booked'! Minutes later, my sister and I, asked and they said: 'we have got plenty of room'.... We confronterend the management of the hotel, but we took Osibisa home!
Hard work Team spirit and a will to achieve a splendid creation in the field of music is ossibissa.I cannot forget their creations throughout my life time.
If you watching in 3000 years and more, remember we also on earth to listen to this awesome song by this group from Ghana. Pls watch it twice, u will feel good! Bless you.. agree.. then delete the dislike button 😢…..
Watching and listening to this reminds me how easy it was in the late 60s and 70s to just turn up at a gig, usually in a pub somewhere in south or west london, pay a small amount at the door and watch amazing bands often very close up. I saw Osibisa when they were hardly known at The Castle, a pub in Tooting. A few years before that I saw the Beach Boys at the nearby Tooting Granada Cinema.Nowadays you have to pay a fortune, stand or sit 100 metres away and get ripped off with food, drink and merchandise prices. Oh for those heady days of youth
I mostly listen to Prog, Metal, and Rock - but despite that Osibisa have always hit the spot for me ever since I bought "Black Magic Night" on spec in about 1980. That combination of horns, percussion and the beat of the bass, cannot help but get the feet tapping. Just so good. Don't have Live at the Marquee - Discogs here I come!!
Wow! This brings back memories of a fantastic night out when I saw them live at a local nightclub. It might have been the same tour. They were and still are brilliant. Love them

The first thing that came to my mind was to watch it in 2025. I love concerts like this.

Love Osibisa, saw them live in New Zealand in the 80s. The concert just brilliant, so loud, no wonder I now have a hearing problem!
