  • In this video we look at a few of the workpoint creation tools that are available. These tools can come in handy when there is no snap function available for the situation you are working in. While there are many available, in this video we briefly cover three:
    - Tangent to circle
    - Intersection of two lines
    - Intersection of part and line

    DEAR SIR, in Tekla Structure 2018, can i create cone from bent plates using faces. please help.

      It can be done, but you have to create a series of very thin triangular plates and join them together. It would be better for you to move to v2018i or v2019 where the conical bent plate is now included as an option under the bent plate tools. You should reach out to your local Tekla helpdesk for assistance.

    I have a question. How do you make a beam translucent?

      There are several ways to do this, but the quickest is to use the Ctrl+1-5 keys on your keyboard to change the objects to solid, transparent, wireframe, etc. teklastructures.support.tekla.com/2018i/en/mod_changing_representation_of_parts_and_components

    Dear sir can we change the point colour

    • @TrimbleTeklaDave
      @TrimbleTeklaDave 5 лет назад

      Yes, but not easily. It is set as one of the pre-defined symbols in the system folders, so you would need to redefine several symbols - point in plane, selected point in plane, point out-of-plane, etc. I would recommend reaching out to your local helpdesk if this is something you need. www.tekla.com/contact/offices-and-resellers

      good question because the stupid managers replaced the point color from yellow to dark blue which is unvisible in black background

    I am trying to draw a line that forms a tangent to two unequal circles. So simple in AutoCAD but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to do it in Tekla.

      Yes, unfortunately there is not a straightforward circle-circle tangent command. You can run the "tangent to circle" point command between the circles, however as you don't know the first origin line position you have to run it multiple times between the circles to find the points on both sides. Not very intuitive. Honestly what I do is revert back to classic drafting skills to lay out the points - you can find an example in this article: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tangent_lines_to_circles scroll down to find the external circle to circle example.
