- Pfunk have always put on fun shows, lots of partying on stage and in the crowd. Dancers, guests, performers, and amazing musicians all on stage at the same time.

I attended in Lakeland, Fl. to see this group of this #1 Band in this country , my bad in the world.
I was at thete concert on Lakeland, FL in 1976. I was 17 years old. After that night I was never the same. I am now 62yrs younng and still funkin.

To Elder, that was Balitta Woods who unfortunately passed a few years ago, but the lead guitarist who passed years ago The writer of Maggot Brain is Eddie Hazel. Go to Wikipedia and pull up Funkadelic and you will learn a lot about the Funk Mob.
I saw the PFUNK (about 50 plus people on the stage, the Brides, PFunk Parliment, every body was on the show) at Univ of Maryland in 96 or 97 and they played for about 6 to 6.5 hours straight.....Make my Funk the PFunk!!!!!!

College Park show Was at that one, too. Show was on 4/19/1996, and my first time seeing em. Caught em a second Time in Sept at a show @ Pier 6, same year, 1996. They had Bootsy for that concert, all purple & silver sparkled, and looked 8ft tall. Both great concerts. At College Park, I remember one tune that had all the horns at the front of the stage just killin it. I also remember the Maggot Brain being great, and ear-splitingly loud, as well. Great intro show, with all hands on deck. Early during that show, George had to settle down all the U of Md kids in front that wanted to mosh/crowd surf. They kept singing, “Funk the dumb shit!”. It eventually settled in, and was a 3 hr dance a thon. I was floored, and hooked immediately! I still try to go see em when I can. Thx for the memory shake up!

I actually grew during the 1970s/1980s during P/Funk's hey day and these cats were off the chain when they played live ! Bernie Worrell has never gotten the credit but his keyboard wizardry is/was unparellel as was Bootsy's bass playing !
For those who didn't see P/Funk in their heyday, man you missed some great live performances and weed, acid etc was everywhere at a P/Funk live show ! Great stuff miss those days !
