First of all; congratulations on your marriage!
Secondly; this video is exactly what I needed this morning. I have been beating myself up for how behind I have been for so long. I am passionate about the importance of documenting my life, but don't want to lose the joy it has brought me in the past, because of pressure to "keep up".
That last line at 16;15, so profound!!!
    Thank you, Leanne!

I call myself a journaler yet I hardly ever journal. I pop in and out of my journals, often getting frustrated with myself that I'm not doing more but, what I have done over the years brings me joy every time I flip through those meagre pages. I realise now that the only person I journal for is myself so if I want to 'pop in and out' of my journals then that's ok. Thank you for a very thought provoking video. Have a lovely day 💕

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts Sam! I'd like to just say that you ARE a Journaler! There is no standard for type or frequency you have to meet in order to call yourself one. I think it is beautiful that you have found your own rhythm with journaling and enjoy looking back on what you have done. And I love that you have given yourself permission to do it your way! Much love to you! -Leanne

Really great things to think about! I’ve always been a chronological journal/scrapbooker. I am woefully behind. But I don’t feel like I can do current things when I have so many past things that I haven’t documented. I don’t know how to give myself the freedom to do things out of order to just not document some things at all. But because I’m so far behind I don’t feel like doing any journaling because it would be such an undertaking at this point, which just means I get further and further behind. It’s a vicious circle!

Hi Elise! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I can definitely relate to some of the feelings you were describing. It can be a hard hurdle to get over. I have some tips for you but rather than type them all out here I will put them in a future video. Hopefully you will find them helpful. Much love to you! -Leanne

    Congratulations on your marriage!!!
I really enjoyed your perspective on this. Years ago, when I first started watching you, you were the first person I watched who did creative journaling, and I loved it and wanted to do it. And I still want to do creative journaling, but I haven't yet. It's funny to me that that felt like a major confession. I love making journals and I've made myself journals, but I have yet to journal in them. I do art journal on occasion and I do written journaling but not creative journaling...yet. Writing this comment leaves me wanting to dive into why that is because my desire to do it is strong. Thank you for another great thought provoking video! #tiltheendclub (did I get that right? ) 💜🧜‍♀️💜

Thank you so much for the wedding congratulations! Yes! #tiltheendclub ! It was so lovely to hear your "confession" Tia! It sounds like you already do such wonderful journal practices. I am happy that it gave you some things to think about. One thing to consider is maybe you're holding yourself back because you're thinking creative journaling is something specific? Maybe consider dipping your toe in and exploring it within the journaling you already do. You could add just a few touches of color or a couple stickers to your written journal. Or do a little art journaling on some of the pages and write around it. Doing those simple things still makes it a creative journal. I would even argue that art journaling itself is creative journaling. Consider giving yourself permission to experiment in addition to things you're already doing rather than starting something entirely new. I hope some of that helps get you started. Much love! -Leanne

CONGRATS on your marriage!!!! Well, i'm sooooooooooooo behind. Creative journal is 3 months behind. Personal journal is 2 months behind. Just some bullet journaling done. All the 7 benefits makes so much sense. I can feel myself saying yes to all and smiling.....Journaling is supposed to bring good vibes to your inner self to not be pressured or stressed about it. It should bring balance to daily life no matter how small or simple. Not the other way around. I have learned that i can't do it on a daily basis...but being able to do it weekly is way more satisfying. And thou shall not compare your journaling style to others...Love this video.... Need to write it down.

Thank you so much on the wedding congratulations! I loved reading all of your thoughts. You are so spot on with everything. I think there is a lot of pressure to be a daily journaler but that just doesn't work for everyone and doesn't make us any less of a "journaler" if we only do it once a week or month. Good Vibes only! Much love -Leanne

It seems I actually REMEMBER more when I journal later. It makes for a more personal journal instead of a cold:
    -I woke up
    -I ate
    -I went here
    -I did that.

Sometimes I think to myself, just who am I trying to catch up for??? It’s MY journal, I’m supposed to be making this for ME. I realize the pressure I feel is coming from leaving memory keeping for my kids/grandkids. I do want to do that, but I don’t want that to take my joy from making them.

Loved to hear your reflections! I am sure many people can relate. I think having a journal spreads that you enjoyed making will be much more meaningful for them to see than a journal full of entries that you felt obligated to do.
