Gee's a loo Jamil you look exhausted!! Thank you for starting this new MTB racing series. It's just what we needed! Hope you got some rest. Thanks again!
Hey Jamil! New to the Phx area and new to desert hiking. A local hiking friend of mine told me I should check out your aravaipa running events cause of my fitness level and I tend to crush my hikes. I've only been hiking/trail running for about 1-2 months and my 4th ever hike I did the 5.86 mile pyramid trail to national overlook there and back in just under 1.5hrs. My goals are to train for at least a 30km or 50km event by the end of the year and a 75km and or 100 mile even in the next 2 years or so. Do you know of any trail running training groups in the valley that I could join to aid in my training goals?
Ha! totally stoked to see that once again, another sport-specific athlete/leader starts bec(om)ing more wholistic! proud of you for branching out into other sports, because, as ilg said in THE OUTDOOR ATHLETE book (Johnson Press, 1985!): Specificity Is For Insects; Wholeness Is For Humans! ..stoked to see you are offering a Mountain Duo for your Kendall Mountain Race! feeble ilg's suggestion would be to make Day One the Kendall Mountain Run, then Day Two? A mountain bike race!!! jusy sayin',.. sooooo proud of you and stoked to see you again in Silverton! will be supporting as always! Brilliant stuff Jamil. I think this will be a hit. People like to do lots of different things. I like to run, cycle and MTB.

Sounds fun but at night? I would surely crash.
Yeah, it's important to have a good light. It's a lot of fun.

Thanks Steve! Would be fun to develop a bike race in the San Juan’s!
Miles are so irrelevant on a bike, go by time or vert, but miles are terrible.
What do you mean by that?
You mentioned at the beginning the miles you rode that week
Basically, if you're pedaling for an hour, it's the same workout regardless of the distance or terrain
@@benanderson4639 ok. 3.5 hours
First (sorry, I grew up in 2005, I had to)
