The beginning of this track. I don't know how to put it, but my brain immediately associates it with "innocence". Well in a sense the drone is "innocent". It doesn't understand the concept of "good" or "evil". All it does is following his programming.
@@GruntsAreWin A piece of military hardware doesn't need conscience outside of not committing war crimes, something they've demonstrated to be capable of avoiding perfectly while humans are notoriously bad at it even if there's punishment
Even less than that, man. A pilot is a person. They have hopes, dreams. They lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow. They loved and, were loved. A drone has no mind to think. No will to break. And the main appeal, is that it doesn't hesitate. The computer processes numeric values from the digitized input of sensors. There's no screen or display to blind with a digital IR sensor. All it will read is you exceptionally bright. After target lock there's nothing stopping the missile but physics, calculus and your own countermeasures. You can't blame a drone for being controlled into shooting down a piloted plane any more than you can blame a clock for showing the time.
This fight will either take you 5 minutes or 5 seconds and there's absolutely no in-between. Sometime it'll get really lucky shooting your missiles down. Sometimes you'll shoot at it thinking you've already missed and the death cutscene plays.
This fight nearly traumatized me. I died to it twice believe it or not on my first playthrough. I wasn't doing any Free Missions at the time. Wasn't even aware repeating missions that way would add to my MRP. The best aircraft I had at the time was the SU-33 armed with an EML which I had absolutely no handle on. On the second try, I nearly shit my pants when I saw it perform a kulbit just to shoot down my missiles and continue.
I didn't expect my F-14 to fair against an great enemy like that, in fact, didn't even expect to take down the Arsenal Bird with it. Damn I love that jet
Yeah, the Tomcat is still such a good bird. When we lost the Tomcats, we lost not only our naval supersonic interceptor capability, but our only long range air-to-air missiles as well (AIM-54 Phoenix).
As a faithful fan of the work and deeds of Larry Foulke, I refuse to fly anything other than F15. One of the first DLC's I've decided to spend my money on in my life was the Pixy skin in AC7. You can imagine how much of a challenge this mission was on 'ace' difficulty with an F-15. And I've enjoyed every single second of it.
It sounded so "alien" when I heard it fly by me. It made me wonder if this was literally alien-made rather than Belkan-made. It probably uses an advanced form of Pulse Jet (like the German V1 Buzz bomb but far more advanced) or Pulse Detonation Engine as it's powerplant if I am honest. It would have to since it is such a small craft.
Project Aces really nailed how enemies 'felt' in this title. The drones behaved in ways that defied human movement, practically spinning in the air. Mihaly pulled some sharp maneuvers that I could honestly only imagine a skilled ace pulling off. The music and atmosphere of each fight combined the these behaviors created some of the most intense, and genuine feeling, encounters I have ever felt in the series. Cheers to Project Aces!
*Drone shows up* "Ok, pal, what's your deal?" *Drone shoots down my missiles while pulling off crazy moves* "It's a slightly neutered Ghost X-9. Bring it!"
By the time i was fighting this boss, I was already flying like an absolute maniac preforming really crazy shots with ridiculous use of High G turns. I had my uhh..I think F22 at the time and I managed to defeat the drone pretty quickly but that was already after hours of practice before hand all of which spent flying like a manic. I was able to keep up with Mr.X in Farbanti soon after as well.
My record was 24.51 seconds and counting Edit: It was with the XO-2S with EML 2 shots tear the ADFX-10 apart It was one of many to lose to my EML only run, Mihaly was no exception
So I have a story: 1st playthrough of this game, it was on hard difficulty and chose the F-4E for this mission, not knowing what truly lied ahead. Then obviously I encounter the ADFX-10, in my F-4E which was not suited to the task. Was an absolute struggle but I managed to shoot the UAV down. Unfortunately though when I did destroy the target, the mission timer hit 0, so despite completing the mission objective, I ran out of time and failed the mission. It was absolutely soul crushing for me. 2nd try, I shot the thing down in 2 minutes. Felt like I punched a wall due to the irony >_>
The very first time I played this mission, I was flying an SU-33 for whatever reason and shot the thing down in less than 10 seconds when it jousts you. I was extremely confused when people said it was difficult so I flew the mission again in the SU-57. Christ, if you don't destroy that thing in the first joust its difficult to take down.

I fought this mission in the MiG-31. It further reinforced my belief that the SAAM can take out anything and everything with wings. Terrible maneuverability, but raw brute speed means that when you do get that right angle, it's over for them.

This is great for the 1v1 fight this song was in. Hush is better for that last mission where you have to stop them no matter the cost and your allies vanish one by one.
Tough to say. Hush is phenomenal and they both serve their purpose. This is absolutely fitting for the "cold, soulless, with no purpose except to kill you" vibe of the boss fight with the ADFX-10, while Hush is absolutely fitting for the "do robots feel fury? do robots feel desperation? do robots feel that crazed aspiration for freedom and drive to survive that defines humanity as a whole, especially in its darkest hour?" vibe of the final boss fight with the ADF-11s. Here, you don't know what it wants besides your death. In the final mission, you know they are basically Belka's mad final attempt at imperialism.
