I have both a '97 and a 2000 Ford F-150, both with the same tailgate, however different from the one you feature in this video. The configuration on my tailgates require drilling a hole, but I was able to make it work.

Excellent product, I did feel that one kit on my '99 F250 did not slow the tailgate down as much as I wanted so I ordered a 2nd one. I was surprised to read in bold letters that it could not be installed onto the passenger side of tailgate. Just wondered why? Except for needing to drill the hole out on that side the install and operation is no different than the driver's side.

@@BHauck-os9sy Ahh, never thought of that. I've had no issue with my '99 F250 but I've always had a radiator clamp on my passenger side hinge for security. I did have to relieve the lower rubber centering bumps on both sides to allow the cylinder rod to clear when the tailgate closes.
