Do you like the shirt I am wearing in this video? Get the "Pool Is Life" and more shirts from my shop: shop.sharivari.net
I bought the 8 Ball version of the one you are wearing. I love it! Good quality and I've received nice comments when I wear it. I think I'll buy another in a different color!
Why do pros use long bridges ?
@@paulletchworth2036 mostly because you can use more power
My friend, I’ve been playing since the mid sixties. You are the best instruction video player on internet. This video could take a new player a long way. Keep up your videos your great. Rick - Alabama
Glad to hear that Rick, thanks!
As a youngin that's new to the game, how has it changed since then? Cues, tables, balls, etc?
The most consistent thing I get from your lessons is to apply less power to the stroke and less spin. I've been driving myself nuts overplaying shots. Love your teaching style.
agree with you so much.

This is a serious lesson that people needs to take in because most of the shots we miss are NECCESSARILY because we aim wrong it's simply something like what is being taught here.... Shari.... Thanks much bro ANOTHER GREAT LESSSON so original
I know my game play improved because of you and your videos. Thank you😌
He's the best teacher out there. Love when he says bring it to vatz here. Dominant eye video was extremely helpful.
Great content and instruction! Far too many shooters have extended bridge lengths and over hit their shots. This information is key to taking your game to the next level. Thanks as always Sharivari!! 😎👍
You are the only person that I like to watch shooting an explaining as you go ! Always love it , Thank you !
Thanks as always Sharivari!! Love your teaching style.
I love this channel so helpful, I'm learning all by myself so this is very helpful!
This is the lesson im teaching my fellow members. Im happy i came across this love your videos bro. Keep it up. I always watch
Just starting playing and your videos have been really helpful. Thank you.
Any beginner that finds this video is forever in your debt...another gem here Sharivari! Thanks for everything you do! Merry Christmas my friend!!
Some great tips there. Thank you for the videos!
Another great video... very practical, very useful, very simple.👏👏👏👏
Love, love, love the go pro shots!
Excelent video, thank you.
Great video thanks!
Always so helpful.
Great lesson! Ty. I was always told that the practice back stroke length should be the same as the shot back stroke length
Some great information was passed on.
Nice lesson!
Your videos have helped my pool game!!
Thank you so much❣️
Awesome vid, if I can apply this my game will improve tenfold!
Since I started watching your videos my pool game has improved
Great video
Thankyou for the tip. I’m good on simple shots but on my long shots I miss sometimes but I do want to improve it. I’m always looking for any new tips to add to my hands. So I guess if I’m going for a longer shot I should set my hand back alittle more and not to up close like you said with the up close simple shot
This is Great! And the shirt is awesome too.
I've stated this before, but these are some of the best lessons for beginners or people like myself that have decent instincts but not a good grasp on some fundamental concepts that open up the game and make it fun again. This is especially true for me being a lefty. Thank you very much for your excellent work.
Thanks for your kind comment.
Amazing teaching lessons, really amazing stuff.
Can you do a video about cue? Cheap to best? Affordable to expensive?
enjoy your videos. I dont have the same felt, but I am practicing my shots are you show in these videos. I am not generating the same action on my cue ball with the felt i have, as you do, but I'm getting better.

Thanks guys
Shari wish you knew how much i enjoy watching these your videos.. And i also want that cue stick.. Please as my Christmas gift 🎁
Thank You for this one too ! (wieder was gelernt ! :-) !!
i learned a lot of things beacuse of you you are the besttt
Finally the video i need.
Sharivari ...very nice teaching ❤ i love ur video and also your cue , , please🙏
Coming from Snooker I personally think the bridge length should be consistent on most shots and you rather adjust the length of the backswing. Only for shots that require a tap of the ball I like to adjust the bridge length. I guess whatever feels the best for anyone works the best in the end!
The Prince of Pool!!!!
Very good
I been watchin your vids and other videos lately a lot and they been so helpfull im not pro by any means my father used to have legit pool table when i was kid it was awesome i played like crazy as kid even run 8 ball rack couple times(wow lol) now im pickin the game up again and your vids are so helpfull i almost run my first 9 ball rack ever after month of playing i missed last ball cause i was at terrible position to make it but its coming lol
And your videos are easily most easy to understand they so well made and that gopro is just cherry on top
nice video
Every Saturday me and my dad go pool he always beats me, I always watch ur videos to improve u are a great pool player
My Dad also used to beat me all the time when I was younger. I worked really hard and now I beat him all the time.
5:10 muy buen tiro!! Eres un genio!!
The best teacher👏👏👏 im becoming better
Different strokes for different folks! 🎱👍
You are the best to me
I have a question. How do you manage to hit so low when doing the draw shot, with so much cue angle? I always miscue while doing that.
Good
Alternate title: Different Strokes For Different Folks
Could you do a review on coin operated cue ball action as this is league play in the bars. I realize that the bar league cue ball has a metal weight within the cue ball for the magnet to return the cue ball to the kitchen side of the table and that the cue ball is heavier than the balanced three dot cue ball that you play with in your videos.
One other comment is that I realize the bar cue ball will take more abuse from the bar patron(s) and will also damage the circumference of the cue ball.
Thanks,
James Dugan
Hey sharivari you think on the 6 ball if I drew my cue ball out 2 rails with bottom left would that be to touchy of a shot because I get hook on the 8 when I hit the 6 with top in those situations
@Sharivari you should do a video on proper way to apply left and right spin. I've seen 2 ways. 1 is to shift your bridge hand to left or right of center, the other is stay center and shift the back of the stick to apply left or right spin
You got me thinking now. 🤔 if I were to just move the butt of the cue, wouldn't that change my aiming line?
@@jamesderrick3343 supposedly it reduces deflection and doesn't change your aiming line by much if at all. There is a downside but can't remember what it is. Changing your bridge hand position(how I currently do it), definitely imparts alot of squirt/deflection which makes longer distance aiming much harder. Dr Dave touched on this a few years ago.
By the way, did you know Dr. Dave really is a Doctor? Phd in Mechanical Engineering and was a professor at some Colorado college I think.
@@joshuawesterfield6635 Watching his videos is like sitting in geometry class. Not for me.
@@renesonse5794 the one thing I really like about his videos is his use a real slow motion. He can really show what exactly the cue ball is doing from the moment of impact with a cue tip.
@@renesonse5794 geometry was the only math class I could not sleep through and get an A. Got a b+
Another way to think about bridge length is (acceleration over time/distance) the longer your bridge, the greater the acceleration using the exact same swing/ stroke. I always thought that pool had only 2 GENERAL types of strokes (not including the jump shot strokes which have 2 types) . In pocket pool we have the "break stroke" and the "pool stroke". If you change the length of the stroke, it's still a "pool stroke". In billiards (carom) there are 6 strokes, 1. Up and through 2 down and through 3. Up stroke 4. Down stroke 5. Slip stroke and finally 6. Masse' stroke. If I remember right... maybe the "punch" stroke and "drag stroke" should be included....? I'm not saying that these "billiard" strokes can't be used in pool, but they would be considered a billiard shot on a pool table, just like in billiards when a "pool stroke" is used on certain shots. Similar to shooting a straight pool shot in a game of one pocket... it's still a "straight pool shot".
Sit, what kind of cue do you have? I've heard you mention you have low deflection cue. I'm about to buy a new cue and have always had wood but thinking about changing that up. Do you have any recommendations?
Have a question actually... can you do a video how to kick two rails with white ball on snooker shots?
Great video as alwaze, my question is ? I seem to lean my left arm strong on the table. By the third game my left shoulder is aching. What am I doing wrong? Thanks
Nice video? What type of cue is that? I love the look.
Disregard I saw the link in the description
@Sharivari: Why did you choose a closed Bridge on the 1?
Another great video! music is a little loud and distracting while you are talking though
Noted, thanks
i have a little strange question for you - when the que ball is around one hand away from the cushion/board and i use open bridge, its really uncomfortable to shoot, but if i put the cue on the cushion/board, its kind of hard to execute a powerful and accurate shot, maybe because of the lifted cue. I hope you understood me :D
So any thoughts ?
Erm mayb you can try using a closed bridge with your cue resting on the railing? May help u solve your lifted cue problem
Or u could also use an open bridge with your index finger pushed against the side of the table while your 3 other fingers resting on the table.
Hope it helps
Or mayb anothr variation of the open bridge with your 2 bridge fingers on the rail while your 3 other fingers rest on the cloth part of the table keeping your bridge stable
Honestly it's all up to what suits u best u jus gotta find a way for you to make ur own bridge right for you
👍
What are the dimensions of your table?
What is the major purpose of using chock?
Amazing that pros use a crazy long bridge , I know they are pros , but figured it was a pro secret to help in aiming like down a rifle barrel ?
Damn
what is that on the top right ? arcade games ?
An old slot machine.
On the three ball, why wouldn't you use a little left to kill the angle ?
Because I wanted to get where the cue ball ended. Too little angle would have been bad.
When I can use the slide shot
I just subscribed bro send me that cue lol
Your making billiards more complicated😆 Just go on your comfort thats the key
It was nice .but I wanna learn like this 😑😑😑
I want basic training.. to profesional training
At 5:15 your cue was elevated too much which is the reason you didnt get desired position.
Fyi
Fala demais!E não joga nada
Hey Pal, I'm follower and forgive me for being honest but you need less talking because most of the times you're repeating yourself! Yeah, granted you'll say you're explaining the shot! I'm sure there's many more who'll agree with me but haven't the balls to voice it?? No?? No disrespect!
Thanks for explaining with such detail. Much appreciated 👍
I don't agree at all. Maybe others need that explanation 🤔
@@jamesderrick3343
I guess when you play at a certain level, you want it straight. I'm still learning and sorry you feel that way!
It's you mate. He explains just enough so that one really understands. There is more to instruction than explaining the mechanical procedure. I've seen many others who do what you describe and they are quite different.
I think you're by yourself on this
I'm sure there's many more who'll agree with me but haven't the balls to voice it??
nobody is afraid, or scared to voice their opinion on how they feel. We're lucky to have @Sharivari sharing his knowledge and skills with us. Keep in mind different people learn in different ways, some hear a thing once and that's good, others might need things repeated or explained in a different way to get it.
Nice job
Thank you so much❣️
