Perfectly balanced top, middle and bass registers to get immersed in. Found myself thinking forensics - since the mandolin never moved from its place on the shelf between the recordings of the other three, it must have been either the first or the last one recorded, right?
Actually the mandolin was recorded second, the first track was concertina since I learned the tune on the concertina. I learned the mandolin part from listening to the concertina part so I could match the timing. I must admit that my mandolin playing is more consistent than my concertina playing.
A very pleasing tune David, is it still under the composer's copyright? I am unable to find it on the Session - any help much appreciated. Can I also ask what speed you are playing it at in terms of beats per minute - a slow reel is a novelty! Thanks and kind regards, Ed.
Your orchestrations are always a treatttt, David !!!!! Gorgeous tune I didn't know, looove it !!!!!!!!! 👏👏👏👏

You can find the dots here: nigelgatherer.com/tunes/tunes/S/Shaws.html I am guessing the BPM to be around 86.
