Great thumbnail Kari. I love how you’re evolving your channel, It’s wonderful to see! Gosh I remember staying these apartments in the early 00’s, I was about 14 then!
Hello Kari. 1:15 if it got 4 walls, windows, floor and ceiling, clean and tidy I will be happy. 4:00 as you know, I like a room tour. 7:00 green screen. 7:30 I do like the sound of a street organ. Butlins entertainment is fantastic for all ages. Thank you Kari, Allen and Jess for the Holiday 2023 review.
I think the standard apts get bad reviews and could do with a bit of TLC, but they're fine for a few days because you spend so little time in them. I won't lie, the gold was much nicer, especially with the balcony.
@@KarionTravelling I lived in one of those budget apartments for five years when I worked there, takes me back, the decor now is far nicer but I recognized the layout instantly, memories are flooding back, thank you.
@nik, you're very welcome. When I first started going back to Butlins in Sept 2020, it was my first time in over 20 years. I grew up there, and it was brilliant seeing what had changed and what was the same so many years later.
Lovely video we come in june and its been nice to get a peek at the evening shows. We wont be on such a strict budget i bet it was tough to not spend like normal x
Very good video! I love going to butlins and have a good butlins holiday but may I ask who was that man at the end in the magic show on the tall stick it look like Stephen mulhern? In the jay and Josh show
It wasn't Stephen Mulhern, he isn't only usually there for peak breaks. It would have been Jay or Josh, I can never remember which way round they are 🙂
I know they've been there a very long time. I've heard a rumour that they are going to tear down Oyster Bay and put up another hotel, but I hope not. The chalets need a lot of maintenance, but they are just what traditional British holidays are all about.
I am happy to see a youtuber add the $ or £ Symbol at the start most Adult youtubers always add the £|$ at the end and it is so aggrivating, Keep the work up!!!!
Thank you. I know prices change so much throughout the year so people won't get the deals I do, but it's nice to know as a rough guide and I always like to say (if I remember). I don't see the point in making people wait, I just whiz to the end when they do that 😉
@Kirsty Bateman thank you, she loves being in front of the camera (most of the time), and hopefully parents get an idea of what their kids might like or not like. Jess abandoned me during little train to go into soft play, I think it was a bit young for her.
would you say the entertainment is suitable for a 10 and a 5 year old during the off peak midweek breaks and is there plenty to do for adults also how busy is it and is everything open loved this video xx
My children like the entertainment (maybe skip the magic train). It's most crowded during peak breaks, early/late mid-week breaks tend to be quieter. The fair is coming along quickly, and the dodgems are already working since I filmed this.
Fiting you would post it today. Butlins is 87 years old today. Here's 6 facts of butlins Fact 1:Butlins founder Sir Billy only came to the uk with 5 pounds and 3 pounds of that money he bought a hoopla stall. Fact 2:When the second world War started Billy's sites at Skegness and Clacton were requisitioned for the war, but the government wanted more sites to be built so Billy did on an agreement that he could buy it back for 3 fifths of the price of construction. Fact 3: Butlins had a chain of hotels outside of the holiday camps to operate year round but were sold in 1999. Fact 4: Butlins once owned an Asian elephant for the Filey camp. Fact 5: Sir Billy's favourite site was filey because it was the biggest holiday camp in the world at 400 acres. Sadly the camp closed in 1983. But the story doesn't end there a haven site occupies the old site. Fact 6: Butlins 3 sites attract 1.5 million visitors every year, still keeping to Sir Billy's promise. Our True Intent Is All For Your Delight.

Yes, it was weird having to think constantly about money. But I can also see where we spend too much and can save in the future.
@@KarionTravelling that's good 👍
We have never done Butlins at Bognor before always done Skegness or mine head
Bognor is more compact compared to the others, but it is definitely my favourite of the three resorts.

I would like to try one for nostalgia. My family used to go to Bognor and stay in these chalets back in the late 1960s/70s.@@KarionTravelling
They're fine for a short break. The silver rooms remind me of Hi-Di-Hi a little bit.

How old is your little girl? I’m quite good at finding deals but we can only do school holidays or stay two nights out of a weekend break! Xx
She's just turned six. I will try more challenges like this in the future, especially now I have the same problem with school restrictions.
That would be really helpful, thank you. It’s brilliant that you take your daughter on so many of these holiday adventures! Xx

What everyone wants to know is - what was wrong with the standard apartment?
Let's just say that when we walked it in, it was very obvious that the previous occupants had had a very good weekend.

Thank you for sharing these. I believe some of those facts are in the chip shop too, I'm sure one of the lights has the war information around it.
