What a strong opener for Flash! Didn’t expect he to use wraiths at the beginning, then transfer into some battle Cruisers play. If he keep on using wraiths, that would be awesome. What a big turn back for Larva at the late game, just keep on dark swarm and plague. GG for both players!
Flash could have put the battle cruisers more far away from each other so they wouldn't be plagued in one hit or maybe he confused the amount of plague that larva had. I think the BCs were just as a distraction so that scourge wouldn't hit the drops, he should have built fewer of them. Larva also could have ensnared or parsited dropship at some points, like to stop drops, or to split/slow down the M&M.
I'm nowhere near the level of Flash but as a Terran player, what was thaaat! Make at least a half-hearted attempt to keep the BCs alive! A couple of SV for Defense Matrix would have soaked up the Scourge way better and of course a Valkyrie or two would've been nice. And idk about switching to mech like that. Didn't even roll anything out. Should've doubled down on Firebats with D-Matrix. They're always under utilized imo. Of course once again, I'm nowhere near an expert level 😅 Amazing cast as always Falcon! Thank you so much!
Yep it seems every pro terran uses BCs horribly wrong. Sure sometimes sending 2 unsupported BCs to a distant zerg expansion can pay off while you are hitting their main etc. but overall it's just begging to die to scourge. I think his wraith/dropship all in was a sweet move, but later on when he sent the BCs alone to die to mass scourge it doomed him. Do pro players have some kind of phobia with getting a critical mass of BCs vs zerg? Like you say D matrix is huge to absorb an extra 2 scourge hits and mixing in 2 valks can splatter big scourge groups. But I say skip the valks and just get 6-8 BCs with yamato. Once you have that critical mass you can kill several hatches or hit the main and wipe out all the good tech structures. Dark swarm may protect drones but it can't save buildings!
@@Ziegfried82 Yeah and that's another thing I don't get! If he was sending the first 3 BCs to their death, that's one thing. But if he was making more, why not have Yamato ready to go?? He could have blasted that expansion to pieces and the dropships slipping by would've been able to take the corner base 😭
21:38 the BCs were meant to soak all the scourge so he could drop safely, I'd say they paid for themselves if you consider the damage he did with the drop. insane huge brain by flash
I just don't think sending 2-3 BCs without marine/vessel support is viable. The damage he did with the drops was not good enough to justify losing several BCs like that. Every single game I see with pro terrans using BCs seems to be done this way and like Falcon says it's a curse cause it almost never works. You may as well make ghosts against zerg if you are going to use BCs like this. The ghosts might have a better win ratio since a fast nuke can crush crazy zerg.
Very fun game and great casting ! I was wondering if using Yamato against Ultras would have been a good play for Flash. He invested so much into BCs already, may as well research the spell.
4:20 Day9 says that he put as a low end estimate for hours played at about 30,000 hours and that was about 15 years from 1998 onward. Since 1998-2013 there has almost been another decade since then (2024). Assuming 1,500 hours a year as a baseline from 1998 to 2024 (26 years) because Flash probably isn't maxing out at 2k hours a year due to being in the military and flash taking breaks and playing starcraft 2. So 1,500 hours a year over 26 years equals 39,000 hours played which means 2.16 hours over 18,000 games. Given that the average duration of TvT is 17m58s, TvP is 16m54s, TvZ is 14m20s or an average of 16m24s (Info from Jackvso github starcraft) so in all likleyhood Flash has played at least 18,000 games and the number is likley in the 6 figure range or about 142,000 games by my estimation.
Flash was active in SC competitively from 2007 to 2015. Came back in 2016 and played until atleat 2019 before military service? That is 12 years, if he played atleast 10 games everyday in that time period it would be just under 44,000 games. So I'd say much more than 18,000 games played :p
The Overmind was a great "concept" that should've never disapeared from starcraft. A being which has the "purity of essence", against the "purity of form" of the Protoss and can manifest itself physically in any planet it wants. A pure will, massive intelligence nonetheless enslaved by the Xel'Naga. Just a great conception from the original games.
@@user-iu1ru1qz7u Kerrigan was great in the original games. The Overmind saw in her the possibility of freeing the swarm through human free will. SC2's plot was too centered in her personal traits though. The Zerg became something like a girl's whimp.

Did anyone see how a radioactive Ultralisk just ran over a firebat in time 24:50?The Ultralisk didn't hit him, the Ultralisk just passed him and he got burned by the radiation. hahaha. It was crazy. Thanks for the replays.
BCs in big numbers can kill scourge before they hit them, and they require a bit less micro than vessels. BCs in small numbers though could force the zerg to micro against them though.
Wow. Another GREAT comeback from Larva against Flash. Makes my Zerg heart happy lol. Larva and HamburgerSasu are currently my favorite Zerg players. Not sure if Sasu plays low money maps but his zerg on fastest map is really exciting to watch.
To answer 5:25 No stats but let’s say he took playing starcraft like a full time job, since he’s a a goat he can afford to take long breaks and lunch break so… let’s say he has 6.5 hours of game play. Let’s say on average 30 minute game and 5 day weeks then ( 13 games x 5 days x 52 weeks x 0.68 coefficient of error “which includes vacations, longer games, not full 6.5 hour grinds” x 10 years) we get 22,984 games, call it 20000 games… so yeah he probably played that many

Absolutely insane game. Gotta admit when i didn't see the EPIC tag and Larva started losing his bases - i was pretty sure the game for him was over. This game absolutely deserves the EPIC tag :)
So if I remember correctly you can actually use those neutral overmind cocoons or what ever they are to plant down creep colonies to sunken rush your opponent on this map which may be why Larva went for early pool build.
To answer your question about the number of games Flash played during his career. I don’t have stats but we can make a conservative estimate that he would play 20 games a day (8-10 hours), 250 days a year. That’s 5000 games a year. So at least 50,000 games over 10 years…
By making bc's Flash is forcing Larva to spend gas to kill them, which is gas that will not be spent on lurkers, defilers and ultralisks. Its okay if he looses his bc's this way cause terran infantry does not need much gas.
Thx again for another great cast. I don't get it that flash loses the match after being that way up....but those swings in the matches make it more exciting. Greetings

And guess what they did after that - yes play more starcraft. I dont think you can find official numbers but i think when sc was big in korea , the pros played 50- 60 games a day.
Larva was patient. BCs take a lot of resources. Tanks would have been better option. It was GG when Larva took out expansion base and all SVs were taken down. The attack on Larva's main was a desperation move and Flash knew it was over when he realized he wouldnt be able to take it out.
Just thinking here .... 10 games a day x 365 days a year = 3.5K games a year ... so ... it would only be just over 5 years to hit 18K ... now ... i know ... I've published about 5,000 videos, around 30 minutes on average each, except for the Sunday streams, which run from 3-6 hours, and have been happening weekly since 2019. I'd estimate around 3,300 hours of casting in my career.
It has got to be well over 18k. Over a 10 year span, 18K averages out to be 5 games per day, 365 days a year. Assuming Flash take weekends and holidays off and plays only 240 days per year, it is still only 7.5 games per day. At 30 mins per, that's only 4 hours of play time a day. No way Flash only plays 4 hours per day. The total games over the 10 year period is probably north of 40k.
BC are for harassing undefended bases that Zerg has in late game. Battlecruisers can be very good at this but Flash didn’t control them well so they didn’t pay for themselves.

Average game would be let's say 15mins, but let's make it 20mins to average out those really late games. Pros usually play anywhere from 8-12 hours a day, especially during the "team house" era. Let's say they play like you work so 5 days a week. that roughly comes out to 270 days a year. Flash debuted in 2007, so he's been playing for 16 years. 3 games an hour, so that's minimum 24, max 36 a day times 270 days a year for 16 years let's say for argument's sake. So in theory the bare minimum Flash has played 103,680 games using that formula. So take with a hefty grain of salt. xD
18,000/365 is 49. So he would have to play 49 games every single day for a year to reach 18,000 games. I'd say it's realistic that over the course of his entire career he's played somewhere in the ballpark of 18,000 games. Probably considerably more actually seeing as his career has spanned 10 years. That also means he's probably played more than 10,000 hours of SC games which is how many hours it takes on average to totally master a skill. Yes I know this is a 6 month old video lol.
Even keep making Raves instead of BCs would be better - they speedy and can harras different mineral lines on different bases without dying to scourges and also not so much resourses are just wasted as with BCs
It's weird that when they go BC, we almost see no valks or anything to support the BC. And they rarely pay itself and do enough damage. Still, they cost so much it will mean all terrans that go BC can't build enough tanks, vultures, which are much more op to ultras and lings. I think these BC games are like players testing new strategies from time to time and you see some of them don't work, like in the case of the BC.
Flash want to make it easier for Larva by wasting all his cash on Battlecruisers? Don't even mention that those Battlecruisers come one by one, or at most a couple? They just lined up to their death...
15min games would be 25 hours , he would of need to of been clappin some noobs to get some games under 15 min or straight rush wins for that 100 in a day mark

The BC curse is REAL. I was so expecting Flash to win.
YYYEEAAAAH LARVAAAAA!
18000 games is like 5 games/day for 10yrs on average base on math alone, i feel like pros players would do more game than 5/day
Damn larva know how to win unwinnable game
I think this was more of Flash throwing the match with some typical terrible 2-3 BC at a time and send em unsupported nonsense.
25:55 Or maybe you dont get pla- -BC's get plagued 😂
Yo!
Flash want to make it easier for Larva by wasting all his cash on Battlecruisers? Don't even mention that those Battlecruisers come one by one, or at most a couple? They just lined up to their death...
BCs would have been more effective if he actually used Yamato.
Pros use battlecruisers so bad!
Always sending them alone and achieve nothing, instead of supporting the army!
Bc is makes zerg spent gas on scourge 😅😅
8 hours a day playing 3 games an hour average. 24 games a day for 365 days for 10 years is 87,600 games… reasonable guess?
No days off? Seven days a week? Nah.
@@FalconPaladin well half it then lol. 40k as a rough estimate.. so really your 18k probably isn’t super off
15min games would be 25 hours , he would of need to of been clappin some noobs to get some games under 15 min or straight rush wins for that 100 in a day mark
red terran joined the game! @16:18
no jokes. Flash can building ghost academy with nuke.
Ensare also slows attack speed
Thanks!
Hey, you're very welcome! Thanks for being such a loyal viewer, and for the super chat! :)
If 20 games of 30 minutes are 600 minutes/10= 6 hours, do you think he could play 100 games per day?
