- Meet the 1000 HP Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing from Hennessey. This supercar-slaying, full-size sedan is a driver's dream on or off the track. We recently lined the H1000 Cadillac up to go head-to-head with the infamous C8 Corvette Z06. Here's a quick overview of specs:
H1000 Cadillac CT5-V Sedan:

@@willy3sticks647 if you can’t quantify it, it’s probably not true. The hype around CT5VBW is mind boggling. When the V2 was offered with a manual, people barely bought it…The CT5VBW, is a tuned less grown-up version of the V3 that the competition has left behind. The CT5VBW should have had a different designator since its focus is the drivers experience and handling where V’s use to represent domination of the competition.
Even without the mods is one of the best sedans ever made….no matter how hard I try I can’t describe the feeling you get when flooring that beast
Dam that Z06 is doing great for being stock
Yup, now imagine the upcoming ZR1 which rumors say will have a 950hp twin turbo version of the Z06 set up..and then the Zora which will sit above the ZR-1...rumors for that is that it will have an even lighter/wider/more aggressive body/wheel/tire/brake setup even than the ZR-1..plus the ZR-1's drivetrain plus the addition of 2 front electric motors to give at least 1,250hp stock on normal pump gas...now imagine when the tuners get ahold of that Zora and run Ethanol race gas ECU tunes on it w/full bolt on's including straight piped exhaust, strengthened transmission upgrades, upgraded cooling, headers/cams/rods/mid & down pipes/methane injection/ice box in the frunk to keep it all ice cold...guaranteed we'll see closer to 2,000 hp Zora's even before doing any sort of enlarged bored/stroked kits, & we'll definitely see them w/much bigger turbo's installed by the tuners...its gonna be then fast enough to take on that upcoming 1,850 hp Zenvo Aurora or 1,850 hp Bugatti Bolide but at a tiny fraction of the cost...$250,000 for a stock Zora...w/full bolt on mods & cooling/trans/icebox/methane injection...maybe $300k? but will take on $5 million dollar hypercars...now w/the later on bigger stroker kits added & huge turbo's...2,500 hp to 3,000 Zora's will be seen on the road in street races for sure...just give it some time...those will be able to take on the upcoming Koenigsegg 2,300hp 4 seater....
@@johnmuzic3475 From what I heard they are reversing that. the ZR-1 will have the Z06 with 2 electric motors, and the Zora will have Z06 with twin turbo and 2 electric motors.
Do it from the dig and the corvette will eat those 1000 hp!😂😂😂

Did you read the article that goes with this video? It says from the dig the Z06 is only a half second faster. Not much to brag about considering how big and heavy the caddy is.

Wow... The corvette is a amazing. I think it is rated as having around 650hp and get it is giving that 1000hp cadi a hard time. I don't have money for either but if I did have money like that I would get both. I would daily drive the cadi and drive the C8 at night or on the weekends when and where there is no one is around. Having fun trying to find its limits.
This Z06 is the first American muscle car I would buy if I had the money. Absolutely fantastic effort 👌

As someone who drives a stick but also has a 10 speed it’s nothing like ripping through gears manually. The sound of that CT5 working through gears may be one of the best sounds I’ve ever heard in my life 🥹🥹

Funny thing, if you port the intake you gain around 30whp in the Z06, port the intake and install a fabspeed exhaust and you're looking at a 680whp car
The Corvette looks like a little boys dream come true and the CTS looks like a contract killer's get away car
I love both cars. CTSV is my all time favorite. That said do it from a dig and I bet the outcome is different. Do it from a dig with both stock and I would bet money it's a different outcome.

Guys first there both amazing cars but the people knocking the V, it's a 4 door sedan! Yes 1000hp but the manual is actually slower than the 10spd and if the V was stock that wouldn't be a fair race against the Z especially on a dig. The corvette is a tough car to beat buts actually a pretty fair comparison in this scenario.
That Z is awesome! Love the red intake, sounds like it may have had some exhaust work to. 😊

Wait for the Hennessy Corvette Z06 and have a do over. We already know what the outcome will be. The 1,000 hp Cadillac will stock again. I'm not knocking the build capabilities of Hennessy. That Cadillac is a beast It's just how the video is presented as if the Corvette was going to be so blown away that it would become front page news around the world. Hennessy could easily breathe on the Corvette ZO6 and things would be the reverse when pitted against the 1000 horsepower Cadillac.
Plus the video shoulda been auto versus auto also

In the Multiverse, the Cadillac is offered with a manual and the Corvette only in an automatic, and the Cadillac sounds like a Corvette and the Corvette aounds like a Cadillac.
These two have nothing on what Dodge is working on the new Dodge Challenger & Viper mix will blow both of these away. Hands down

Caddy sounds nice but can only roll race. Put the same 40k in upgrades that Hennessy put in the caddy then test them out. Maybe run them in a track. Sure a 1/4 mile roll race it will win stock but that’s it.

So, the "uber" C8 Corvette weights what over 3800 lbs for the Z06 HTC! Look at the C5 Z06, which was 3116 lbs! WTF GM!!!

I was cheering for the Z06. I'm kinda sad it lost.
Obviously they don't go from the dig. 99% of driving these road n track cars are not drag racing. They are not designed for that. And Hennessey is trying to show how truly fast his car is under normal conditions. Trying to launch the rwd 6 spd car with 1000 hp only would show how traction limited it is in 1st and 2nd gear.

Hennessey wanted their car to have an advantage by starting at 40mph. They know their Blackwing won’t stand a chance if the race start from a stop position. I dare them to try race the CO6 from a dead stop, the vette will eat their car alive.
Yes! Finally someone said it. I am biased here because I own a Zo6. Everytime they have raced the C8 stingray or Zo6, they have never used launch control. Which is really weird, seems like they are trying ti make there cars look better.

Corvettes C8 are garbage it has caught fire on the track more then 6 times and transmission dont last more then few thousand miles just for starters. 100k+ for a car that you should push...😂😂😂 But the atleast they look great on the outside....😂

Corvette C8s arent garbage lol litteraly every car has caught on fire and only 6 after serious track use isnt even a bad statistic. 100k for a car that you can push with the super reliable LT2s, great handling, and better interior than most other cars to date
@@joerichardson6107There are engine problems on the z06 not because its a bad engine, but because gm is trying to force gm engineers to mass produce hand built motors. The motors are holding up fine otherwise
