We used fevicol ddl binder for strong binding.If we do 2 coat then it withstanding for normal rain fall ( if we have one or two times heavy rain then there is no issues). Last week I tried this method on my house slab with 5Kg White cement + 8L water + Fevicol and Dr.Fixit. It was too watery. I had to do 3 coates to get a good whiteness. Two days ago I did it on parents slab with a different proportion and it was perfect with two coats. My mixing was as below. This mix consistency comes good as paint we buy. This mix covers 40 square meters with two coats. 10Kg White Cement 10L water 2L Fevicol SH 1L Dr.Fixit Latex plus BTW, Dr.Fixit 101 is made for concrete. I used 308 Latex Plus which is perfect for a cement mix to be applied as covering layer.

have you seen he is using fevicol ddl binder with limepowder? that helps the paint to stay longer even during rains but do note you need to re paint every year

Really sorry for the delay.Actually I haven't used Dr.fixit but you can use 302 series it's for water proofing purpose only.Again I'm telling the bottom line is, we should keep the terrace in white color since the white color will reflect the heat and the binder is to make the bind strong to get a around 1 year life time for that coating. First clean the floor and then do a first coat and leave it for one day and in that time just do curring with water. The next day with the same mixture do the second coat. Initially I did a small research on this and came to know , we cannot directly go with the damp proof , we have to do initial cleaning and then we have to do patti and then we should fix up the cracks. After that we need to do damp proof and the life time is 3 to 5 years only finally the total cost will come around 15K. 20 litre Damp Proof will cover max 300 sqft so in my case I need 2 packs and that cost will come around 10k (paint + brush + misc) then painting + cleaning + patti = 3 to 5k. The 15k is only for 5 years. If we calculate for 10 year then the cost will be 30k. As per my knowledge it will with stand for an year and we mostly need this during the summer, so with respect to summer climate its working well and the cost also very low only. If you want to test just give a try to a single room roof and then take decision. And one more thing if you want thick coating then increase ddl binder and decrease water for 5 kg lime powder. Lime Powder - 5 Kg Take 10 Litre water and then add lime powder and mix well. Finally add 250 ml DDL Binder and mix all well. Clean the Roof / Floor where you need to apply and the apply this coating for 2 times. Note : If possible we will try to write the same in Hindi for your reference.

Really sorry for the delay.Actually I haven't used Dr.fixit but you can use 302 series it's for water proofing purpose only.Again I'm telling the bottom line is, we should keep the terrace in white color since the white color will reflect the heat and the binder is to make the bind strong to get a around 1 year life time for that coating. Hi Amita Singh, Thanks for writing. The basic mixture is 5kg lime powder + 250 ml fevicol DDL binder + 10 litre water. First clean the floor and then do a first coat and leave it for one day and in that time just do curring with water. The next day with the same mixture do the second coat. If you feel the mixture is very light then increase DDL binder and decrease water like 5kg lime powder + 500 ml fevicol ddl binder + 8 litre water. Hope we have answered your queries. Initially I did a small research on this and came to know , we cannot directly go with the damp proof , we have to do initial cleaning and then we have to do patti and then we should fix up the cracks. After that we need to do damp proof and the life time is 3 to 5 years only finally the total cost will come around 15K.
20 litre Damp Proof will cover max 300 sqft so in my case I need 2 packs and that cost will come around 10k (paint + brush + misc) then painting + cleaning + patti = 3 to 5k.
The 15k is only for 5 years. If we calculate for 10 year then the cost will be 30k.

As per my knowledge it will with stand for an year and we mostly need this during the summer, so with respect to summer climate its working well and the cost also very low only. If you want to test just give a try to a single room roof and then take decision. And one more thing if you want thick coating then increase ddl binder and decrease water for 5 kg lime powder. For now, I will tell you the items and procedure which we followed.
1. Fevicol DDL Binder - 250 ml
2. Lime Powder - 5 Kg
Take 10 Litre water and then add lime powder and mix well. Finally add 250 ml DDL Binder and mix all well.
Clean the Roof / Floor where you need to apply and the apply this coating for 2 times.
Note : If possible we will try to write the same in Hindi for your reference.
