Many videos on the downswing, incorporating the squat move etc. But Larry's clear explanation on butt back n chest down by far is the easiest to follow for weekend golfers like me. Thanks Larry!
Been working with this with my pro.. the thing that struck home was when he said stay down and feel like I’m coming over the top !!! 😮 baby draw fizzing of down the range.. crazy game !!
Hey Larry - i love that you are focusing on the downswing and rotation as I have been working on this actively for a while now. Your videos, details, etc are the best I've seen on youtube and really all the parts put together an entire course. Just want to say a big thanks on this. I have finally started to "get" it with my downswing being rotation starting with feet to hips, but having an issue where i'm extending my legs to fake the rotation rather than sitting back and this video is on point. I'm going to try this out in a bit and let you know how it works out.
Hey Larry .. this is a bit late .. but thank you. i didnt get the whole downhinge thing when i first saw your vids .. but now… man o man. I believe you are a golfing genius. downhinge plus chest down butt out is all ill be doing now. a slew of answers. thank you. thank you.
Wow instantly subscribed. U hit the nail on the head. The simple part I was missing was my trail leg not regaining flex in downswing. Now it feels natural!!! And seamless thank you 🙏🏼 finally I can start to work away from early extending
Thanks for this! Tried it out at the range and got great results. A little inconsistent results with the longer irons but the short irons were crisp shots.
Wow my swing has greatly improved with the butt swing. I actually stopped blocking my arms in the downswing. After a few good swings, I also added spine tilt and have greatly improved loft and distance. Thanks
First video i have seen of yours and really like it. Thank you. I’ve been working on backswing for years now and it finally looks good, but I’m doing this exact thing on the way down. Will give this a go at the range this weekend. Thanks again
Since many players don't understand the downswing (i.e. weight shift) starts earlier in the backswing, I think many would benefit from putting their chest down in the backswing. The earlier the chest goes down, the better.
I love your set up and wondering if you could provide some info as how one can make one in his house for practicing. Link to product or where to by, etc would be much appreciated
Trial leg has to flex out just a bit? Can’t wait to give this a try. Have been playing so well but this is holding me back. Hopefully I can conquer this move!!
Hi Larry, Just love your videos and your style of presentation. .....I've been playing this great game for ages and, at the tender age of 72, have come to the realisation that to get my handicap down drastically( I'm currently 15) I need to adopt yr rotation movement. I was just wondering if you have any pupils of a similar vintage who have succeeded in making this change without too much trouble.
Hey Larry. I’m working on a early extension issue from years of golfing . When I push the butt back with the irons I hit down and make great contact. When I do this with driver my driver hits the ground a bit before the ball some time. It this normal until my mind and body reprogram it’s self and eventually I will keep the right arm a bit more bent ????
Hey Larry, I have a tendency to roll my wrists on the takeaway. I have been trying to take the club more closed on the takeaway (keep right hand on top longer) however I have a tendency to tilt my upper body forward and push/block shots quite often. My main question is, when swinging the club, should I be trying to go straight back and thru the ball, like hammering a nail in a wall (you don't twist a hammer when hitting a nail)?
@@LarryCheungGolf I'll try to rephrase. Am I trying to swing square through the ball, and push my wrist backwards to forwards? Or, am I supposed to roll my hands through impact and have forearm rotation?
Can you combine this idea with the idea of straightening your lead leg as you start the downswing to get your lead hip moving backwards (ie rotating around a fixed point). Seems to me it should do but feels very complicated
Thanks Larry. There's a new pandemic out there among golfers....just kidding its been here forever. Its called Early Extension. 1:26 is where most instructors explaining it. Its because EVERYONE thinks the strike comes from the arms. Its why ams wildy hit it offline because regardless of hitting nice positions the hands and arms require a massive amount of timing. DST Golf did a study and even 51% of instructors hit the ball with their hands with very little rotation(so watch out who you go to).
Many videos on the downswing, incorporating the squat move etc. But Larry's clear explanation on butt back n chest down by far is the easiest to follow for weekend golfers like me. Thanks Larry!
Larry you are saving my game one video at a time I really appreciate these videos thanks man
This video could have been made for me. Great clear tuition Larry. Wish I had found your videos a long time ago.
Been working with this with my pro.. the thing that struck home was when he said stay down and feel like I’m coming over the top !!! 😮 baby draw fizzing of down the range.. crazy game !!
5:08 love the humor right there, thank you for the great video Larry, this is exactly what I am looking for...
This videos are gold

Very nicely explained Larry, I really like your passion to teach.👌
what a great exaggeration. Love it
This is good explanation of something I've struggled with and didn't know why. Thanks!
Larry, is amazing at
describing this movement. Thanks Larry!
What a really great video,,,,Easily best teacher on RUclips !
Yeah! So glad your new studio is all ready! Really enjoy your videos.
Thanks for this! Tried it out at the range and got great results. A little inconsistent results with the longer irons but the short irons were crisp shots.
Great video!

Every time I focus on keeping my butt out for all shots in golf they generally are struck better and even putts are better, great video
Great vid. Thanks
I just stumbled on your channel and I've found your instructional videos and tips very helpful and clear to understand and implement. Subbed.
Great stuff. Sharing w my friends to get you more support. Keep it up
Wow one the best vids made to date! Thank you!
Thanks for the video Larry, it’s top notch. Are there many pros on Tour that rotate like you advocate for
if you look at alot of the best ballstrikers, most of them will maintain posture as they downswing turn =)
Wow Larry, this is exactly what I am struggling with and I really appreciate your simple explanation on how to correct this. Thanks a bunch!
Super vid - will incorporate this "feel". Thanks!
This tip along with the trail arm bent video had me smoking the ball with great accuracy and precision. Keep'em coming Larry!
good stuff, keep it going =)
So true. Your head is not stationary, it gently drops. That was a tough concept for me to accept. Thank you!
Hey coach! I got to ask this question again on a different video lol.. is the butt move necessary for 40+ yard pitch shots as well?
@LarryCheungGolf - when I try to do this (butt back and chest down) I feel like my follow through swing is extremely restricted. What shall I do?
Very good video !

Welcome back!^^ Glad to see ya!

Not sure where you are located, but Foresight Sports Canada did the job for me, I would suggest contacting foresight sports in your country =)
Trial leg has to flex out just a bit? Can’t wait to give this a try. Have been playing so well but this is holding me back. Hopefully I can conquer this move!!
trail leg will lose flex but not lock out =)
Chest down really worked for me , just need to get those push draws working now !
Hi larry. i think my squat and extend was missing the rotation part. Great video, thanks!
we will continue to work on that Alan =)
That's really interesting, I do sometimes fall forward onto my toes and lose balance, and I do early extend!
Is it just as easy to hit a draw or a fade out of doing this? So I guess what I’m asking is, is this move ball flight dependent or works for all
Hi Larry,

hard to say what you need without seeing what your swing is like =)
Awesome thanks. Have added speed and distance but am really missing the rotation.
You rock Larry, focused on getting the bum back and had a cracking round...
good stuff =)
Counter balance method plus hands in 👍
It would be nice if you showed a slow motion replay of your swing when you exaggerate the feels so people can see what it looks like.
You can change the playback speed on the settings to 0.5.
Will this help with hitting behind ball?
yup =)
Exactly me!!! I Think😂 Can I send you a swing video to confirm? Love the video BTW💙
I offer online coaching where you can send me videos, you can email me if you want to know more =)

it will probably get better as you recalibrate yourself to this feel unless youre doing it incorrect =P
hey larry, when do you release you angles (your trail wrist and your trail elbow)?
Depends on the player, but trying to release the trail elbow bend is probably not a good idea =P
Hey Larry, I have a tendency to roll my wrists on the takeaway. I have been trying to take the club more closed on the takeaway (keep right hand on top longer) however I have a tendency to tilt my upper body forward and push/block shots quite often.

not sure what youre asking =P
@@LarryCheungGolf I'll try to rephrase. Am I trying to swing square through the ball, and push my wrist backwards to forwards? Or, am I supposed to roll my hands through impact and have forearm rotation?
And by pushing wrists backwards to forwards, I mean like the motion of knocking on a door.
Hey Larry ..where are you and facility located ..if I wanted to come take some lessons?
You can email me any lesson inquires =)
Can you combine this idea with the idea of straightening your lead leg as you start the downswing to get your lead hip moving backwards (ie rotating around a fixed point). Seems to me it should do but feels very complicated
I would say no =P
Larry what do you think causes hitting behind the ball?
pulling your hands down excessively in the downswing =)
This worked 1st try.
Nice over exaggeration. I'll give it a try. Thanks Larry!
Thanks Larry.

and the head is supposed to stay still ??!!
The head is not supposed to move a lot left and right, but movement up and down is fine
Focusing on the head primarily isn't a huge priority for me, if you move well, the head will be fine =)
The back of his back.... 😂
1st
Pushing chest down?? You are crazy, no pros do that.
There are videos of tiger woods and justin rose practicing/doing the same exact motion Larry did tho (butt extremely back). Look em up on youtube
