    I'm a jockeying full-back so this was great for me 😊 A good video with the reverse concept would be: How can jockeying defenders prevent getting beaten 😊

    • @1987simple1987
      @1987simple1987 3 месяца назад +5

      As an attacker it is all about your distance from me when jockeying. If you get too close then it is easier for me to cut in because you have to react even faster to my movements due to being too tight. If you are too far away I can beat you down the line and still maybe cut across you enough to either leave you beaten or force you to foul me and likely give away a penalty.
      Also you have to know your opponent if your attacker is slower than you then you can show them the line even more aggressively and then beat them for pace. The real issue will be if you are slower than the attacker as you have no margin for error when showing them the line as show them a fraction to much and they beat you and cut across you.
      The key is being calm and making sure you are comfortable in what you are doing. Remember you do not have to win the ball to defend well and forcing your player to pass backwards or sideways is a win in most cases as long as your team mates are doing their job. Sooner or later all attackers will get impatient and try stupid attacking passes if your team just jockey and allow them to pass backwards and sideways and when they do thats when you have the upper hand.
      You also have to reset after each play. If you get beat doing the right things dont change do them again and just maybe adjust the spacing marginally. If you start trying to defend in ways you never intended then you are doing things you are not comfortable with and attackers confidence will increase seeing you struggling.
      You dont need videos and things just pay attention to the gaps and angles as you play and soon enough it will become second nature to leave the perfect gaps. I promise you 90% of jockeying and defending is being in the right place interms of how far away from the attacker you are and what areas you are starting from on the pitch. No video will help because your own individual assets, weaknesses and genetic make up will be unique to you. Start paying extra attention to how you are positioning yourself and the gaps you are leaving and when you start winning your duels is when you have the right gaps and that will then happen naturally every time you defend.

      @@1987simple1987great advice here, thank you. Yes, always be patient and adjust accordingly to each different case. Only go in to tackle if you're 100% sure of winning the ball. Sometimes the attacker is just too fast but as defenders we just need to practice patience

    Naah, I think it's a diagonal touch from space a to B that goes around the defender while you run through space B without the ball. It actually aligns with their intentions, but too fast: by the time they realize they need to turn, you're already halfway through, ball in movement, and if they touch you u can easily get a foul if you want

      Dont over think just go out and play the game and regardless of what happens good or bad after each phase of play reset yourself. Never think you are doing good or bad during a game just reset your mind back to neutral after every single phase you are involved in.
      Do not get on other peoples backs if they make errors as this opens you up to being shouted at by them when you make a error leading to nerves. Try to treat every single game the exact same and get into the playing with mates frame of mind once the game starts.
      No matter the game being nervous before is a good thing as it means you want to do well. I have read a lot of autobiographies and many ex players who now play 5 a sides with mates say they get nervous even before the 5 a sides despite being ex premier league players. Having nerves before and upto kick off is not a bad thing at all and during the game if you are focused on making the right decisions and reset yourself after each phase you are involved in the nerves will 100% disappear.
      Remember if you do aomething amazing dont get excited about it just rest yourself and make sure you do the right things next phase. If you do something awful reset yourself and do the right thing the next phase. Everyone has good games and bad games and we are always more focused on what we ourselves do than anyone else. You may be aware of 10 mistakes you feel you have made but most opther people will only remember the 10 mistakes they believe they also made.

      @@PitchPro7 Clearly it is not the only thing but I agree with the poster. If you can get good at elastico it is almost impossible to defend because even if a defender knows its coming they react to the first part and move over a bit. This is a great video but regardless of anything else in this situation nothing will be as effective as a elastico in my opinion. However being good at it is another thing and having a video like this will help others who dont have a good elatico.
