I had a meeting with Riot in 2017. They talked about that they wanted to turn LoL into pop culture like Star Wars or Marvel. Back then I thought „Sure, you have a popular game, but you‘d need some really good story telling“. Boy did I underestimate them. In my wildest dreams I never would have expected THIS. Nothing released on screen in the last 10 years, movie or show, even comes close to Arcane. Visuals, music and most important the script are simply on another level. Absolute must-watch.
If you ever read the lore of the characters you’ll find that the great story telling was always there. So happy they decided to make a show!! I hope they explore all of Runeterra
After watching the show, I can say that they could definitely make their own version of an MCU, assuming they keep up the same level of quality storytelling.
Umm theyre the animators who create spiderman into the spiderverse. Basically their inspiration is mixing different medium of virtual art aside from 3d, thats why it looks unique
if u look at the fire and explosions, they use 2d art. Background looks like paper art, and the main element for line art is always geometric. Thats why u can see the contrast of 2d and 3d. In 2d, everything is smooth, and curved. 3d, everything is geometrical and has corners and side.
I am not a big gamer, and I don't care for League whatsoever, but this was genuinely one of the best shows I've seen in years. A buddy recommended it and it was absolutely fantastic.
Yeah, that's me. The story is well crafted adult drama, but the artwork is mind bending. I never thought I would be alive to see this kind of fantasy illustration in animation form. Praise to whoever produced this.

Its still kinda surreal that after years of "Make a Movie" "Make a series" this is happening, arcane is looking great gave me chills feels great since im exclusively interested in the lore of the world.
To be fair, Riot games went from a studio with 1 game title, to several games- a franchise and now a netflix series. Which is amazing, but it is due to 10-11 years of support.

Absolutely incredible. Riot Games, you have completely shifted the bar. Arcane is an utter masterwork. The animation, the character building, the world building, score, story, voice acting, it's all breathtaking. Never let go of whatever standard you set for yourselves while creating this. I've never experienced anything like it. And not for nothing, THANK YOU for putting women on the screen in the way that you have: real, human, flawed, dynamic, unique women that are powerful drivers of plot, each in their own way. Nobody felt like a token. Every character had merit. My sister suggested the show to me and she was so excited. She also has a disability and was thrilled to see representation onscreen. This kind of content is really meaningful. Thank you for the care you've taken! Keep it up!

Its a 9 episode series btw and if i heard they'll release only 3 episodes on launch day then release 3 the following week until the final 3 which is on november 20th.

Riot + Fortiche. Riot came up with the idea, script and music, and Fortiche animated it. I know what you mean, but it's how the world works. They get payed but not the credit of the masses, even for this masterpiece of animation.

The animation is made by a studio that nobody talks about, while others are highlighted (against your analysis btw). I will be honest.. I watched anime, disney/pixar movies and best of the best movies played by best actors. I'm also in love with movies like BladeRunner 2049 , Dune, Interstellar (mostly stunning visual movies) but I have never seen something as good as this series. After I watched episode 3 I was blown away .. animation, voice acting, the raw emotions and details. I knew this will get better throughout the whole series until the end. This deserves all the love in the world because it is made with love .
Her lore, which may or may not be changed following Arcane's full release, had her as a gang enforcer with a conscience, and one fateful expedition, she chose to protect the innocent over the interests of the gang; this involved her taking a set of chemtech industrial work gauntlets and punching her way through a few walls. The hextech set she now uses were made by Piltover law enforcement when she signed on.
Never played league and I didn’t expect much when I started it and I literally jaw dropped on the opening sequence and had to just replay parts over and over. By the end of the 3rd episode I was completely floored.
i hope they end up doing one for the backstory with garen and katarina. they had a cinematic planned a few years ago that they then scrapped. if you go looking for it, you can still find the concept art/story boards and raw sketched out parts of the story put together into short animations. what they already had there was really awesome.

Same. I like how Riot make Val slap a kid in the face with a full force and get away with it. They also make Val blame Powder for killing her friends without asking how she did it. All she saw was Powder broken toy as she being crush by a boulder in the next room. The slap in the face felt force. The purpose was to turns the sisters into rivals or the show would be so boring. I'm at the part where Val versus the girl with a robot arm. I'm thinking, just crush Val throat and be done with it. Nope.. Like every shows before this, the villain simply throw their opponent and in this case a choke slam..
A moment of silence for those who waited and wanted this to happen but are no longer here with us to watch it. This will become an anime series of a lifetime for league players out there. I hope it goes well!

We've spent years playing some of these characters and to see their origins play out on screen in such a beautiful , emotional way brings tears to my eyes and chills down my back. Thank you, Riot. Excited is an understatement. This is going to be amazing. This is only the beginning of something much greater. I can feel it.
I really like that they chose Zaun/Piltover for their story. I mean, you could've gone with ionia, demacia, or shurima just as well, but I really like Zaun for the series.

I couldn't believe how amazing this show turned out to be. Masterful craftsmanship, there's so much soul and raw emotion put into this, it actually made me cry.
It was Jinx's release video that got me in in the first place; sure I may be a filthy Senna-abusing Support Main now, but Jinx will always be the core of the game to me.

I don't think he's their real father, I'm fairly certain they lose their real parents in the fire we see around them when they're young children. It wouldn't surprise me if Vander is more of an adoptive parent to them and he later becomes Warwick. Either way - Still super painful.

Jinx’s : “You think I’M crazy ? you should see my sister” makes a lot more sense now ! Does this mean she actually lost her mind so badly that she forgot or omitted the fact that Vi’s her sister ?
No? Jinx banters with Vi in-game and it's been more than hinted that they're sisters for a long time, it's pretty common knowledge. Jinx says Vi is crazier than her because, when they were kids, it was true. Vi has always been aggressive and temperamental; Jinx on the other hand was kidnapped and experimented on to make her crazy, so Vi actually is naturally the "crazier" one. In a way this does the opposite of what you thought and actually confirms that Jinx completely remembers Vi is her sister as well as remembering their childhood together. If you need more evidence, Jinx became the scourge of Piltover SPECIFICALLY to get Vi's attention (which we will probably get to see in this show). Would be hard for her to track her sister down if she didn't remember her.

My god this looks incredible. I'm sure everyone watched their animated video releases and wished they would do a proper movie/series. I'm so glad they finally have. A video game that has insanely deep lore, spread over a large number of years, characters and geographical area. I'm so excited to see what comes along!
I'm crying. This is what I've always wanted from the league universe, I hope this isn't the only show they have in the works. I can already feel the impending emptiness I'll feel when I binge the whole show in a day.
@@QuanXi1002 the ruination event was meant to either be a continuation, or a story running alongside the ruined king game, but the game got released because of, well, 2020, its why lucian references having been on a trip with certain characters in the ruination event that happened, so that story might already be told, or it has more to tell after the game, we can only wait and see
you're not going to binge, you'll have to wait 2 weeks to binge everything, they gonna release 3 eps, then another 3 in the next week, and after that the final 3 episodes arrive.
God i hope that it goes that direction though. Riot has a history of rewriting their characters' lore. The final shot of them fighting together has me worried though. I feel like the story of an older sister watching her younger sister become a psychopathic killer is way more powerful than Jinx miraculously being a good guy and them working together to stop some other evil. That's not what Jinx would do. Feel good endings are lame, especially when you're dealing with a setting as twisted as Piltover and Zaun.
@@brumpbotungus8425 It's a trailer/teaser, it's safe to say far from a significant portion of the ongoings can be deduced from it, and it's very likely that vi/jinx fighting together part isn't some sort of "ending" to it, it might as well just be in the middle of it, and at a much later point jinx, goes psycho for "some other reason".
After 3 years, Arcane is over... And I have to say it: Arcane is a masterpiece in every Possible way. Every second of this series is unique and wonderful... The animation, the characters, the plot, the appearance of the cities and locations, and finally the soundtrack is just epic
This show was such an incredible achievement. Well done. My hat is off to everyone involved. If anyone has not seen it, set aside whatever preconceptions you have and watch it. Genuinely feels like 'once in a generation' level of quality.
Totally agree, I just love this type of animation so much. It gives you that comics vibe but with the action packed stuffs brought to life, which I think, for me, is an excellent combination for an animated film/series.
This show was done exactly how a video game TV series should be done. It is enjoyable without any prior knowledge of the League universe. My boyfriend has never played league but he is loving the show as well. So many video game TV shows require all this prior knowledge to enjoy it. Very happy to see that Arcane was made enjoyable for anyone. Looking forward to season 2!
This is absolutely insane. I can't even put into words how awestruck I felt after watching episodes 1-3. All I can say is that I'm in shock. Wow. You need to watch this show (I've never been involved in any League of Legends thing ever), but everything about this show has exceeded my expectations beyond measure so far.

I've been wishing for LoL movies ever since that one with Leona, Rengar, Ahri, Graves.. when they're in the woods? The way the characterized the champions was so simple and direct, it's really easy to feel like you knew the characters, and had stakes in their stories because of it. I can't believe they're finally doing it.

Its still kinda surreal that after years of "Make a Movie" "Make a series" this is happening, arcane is looking great gave me chills feels great since im exclusively interested in the lore of the world.
To be fair, Riot games went from a studio with 1 game title, to several games- a franchise and now a netflix series.
Which is amazing, but it is due to 10-11 years of support.
Don't forget the "Make a MMO" and now they're doing that as well

That animation! So hyped for this. The lore of Runeterra is one of my favorites part of League and this feels like such a massive expansion on it.

Absolutely incredible. Riot Games, you have completely shifted the bar. Arcane is an utter masterwork. The animation, the character building, the world building, score, story, voice acting, it's all breathtaking. Never let go of whatever standard you set for yourselves while creating this. I've never experienced anything like it.
And not for nothing, THANK YOU for putting women on the screen in the way that you have: real, human, flawed, dynamic, unique women that are powerful drivers of plot, each in their own way. Nobody felt like a token. Every character had merit. My sister suggested the show to me and she was so excited. She also has a disability and was thrilled to see representation onscreen. This kind of content is really meaningful. Thank you for the care you've taken! Keep it up!

Riot + Fortiche. Riot came up with the idea, script and music, and Fortiche animated it. I know what you mean, but it's how the world works. They get payed but not the credit of the masses, even for this masterpiece of animation.

You try to prove things by making a clumsy parallel. It has nothing to do with this animation. The animation is made by a studio that nobody talks about, while others are highlighted (against your analysis btw). This is a provable fact via the comments under this video and elsewhere when talking about Arcane.
I rarely write comments, I don't need to do that to feel special fortunately but it seemed essential to remind something that many have forgotten to me and I should have the right to do so without being insulted.

I will be honest.. I watched anime, disney/pixar movies and best of the best movies played by best actors. I'm also in love with movies like BladeRunner 2049 , Dune, Interstellar (mostly stunning visual movies) but I have never seen something as good as this series. After I watched episode 3 I was blown away .. animation, voice acting, the raw emotions and details. I knew this will get better throughout the whole series until the end. This deserves all the love in the world because it is made with love .
Wow, Vi was literally fighting magic, guns and science with just her fist even before her gauntlets.
Her lore, which may or may not be changed following Arcane's full release, had her as a gang enforcer with a conscience, and one fateful expedition, she chose to protect the innocent over the interests of the gang; this involved her taking a set of chemtech industrial work gauntlets and punching her way through a few walls. The hextech set she now uses were made by Piltover law enforcement when she signed on.

Never played league and I didn’t expect much when I started it and I literally jaw dropped on the opening sequence and had to just replay parts over and over. By the end of the 3rd episode I was completely floored.

i hope they end up doing one for the backstory with garen and katarina. they had a cinematic planned a few years ago that they then scrapped. if you go looking for it, you can still find the concept art/story boards and raw sketched out parts of the story put together into short animations. what they already had there was really awesome.

Just finished Season 1 tonight. I'm never getting this series out of my head, am I? ... that's fine. Bravo, folks. Absolutely stunning.
We've spent years playing some of these characters and to see their origins play out on screen in such a beautiful , emotional way brings tears to my eyes and chills down my back. Thank you, Riot. Excited is an understatement. This is going to be amazing. This is only the beginning of something much greater. I can feel it.

Zaun/Piltover for their story. I mean, you could've gone with ionia, demacia, or shurima just as well, but I really like Zaun for the series.

No? Jinx banters with Vi in-game and it's been more than hinted that they're sisters for a long time, it's pretty common knowledge. Jinx says Vi is crazier than her because, when they were kids, it was true. Vi has always been aggressive and temperamental; Jinx on the other hand was kidnapped and experimented on to make her crazy, so Vi actually is naturally the "crazier" one. In a way this does the opposite of what you thought and actually confirms that Jinx completely remembers Vi is her sister as well as remembering their childhood together.
If you need more evidence, Jinx became the scourge of Piltover SPECIFICALLY to get Vi's attention (which we will probably get to see in this show). Would be hard for her to track her sister down if she didn't remember her.

My god this looks incredible. I'm sure everyone watched their animated video releases and wished they would do a proper movie/series. I'm so glad they finally have. A video game that has insanely deep lore, spread over a large number of years, characters and geographical area. I'm so excited to see what comes along!
I'm crying. This is what I've always wanted from the league universe, I hope this isn't the only show they have in the works. I can already feel the impending emptiness I'll feel when I binge the whole show in a day.

@@QuanXi1002 the ruination event was meant to either be a continuation, or a story running alongside the ruined king game, but the game got released because of, well, 2020, its why lucian references having been on a trip with certain characters in the ruination event that happened, so that story might already be told, or it has more to tell after the game, we can only wait and see
A show from valorant would be incredible, they have a good lore and ambientation.
you're not going to binge, you'll have to wait 2 weeks to binge everything, they gonna release 3 eps, then another 3 in the next week, and after that the final 3 episodes arrive.
I have a feeling it's gonna get really heartbreaking when jinx inevitably turns crazy.
God i hope that it goes that direction though. Riot has a history of rewriting their characters' lore. The final shot of them fighting together has me worried though.
I feel like the story of an older sister watching her younger sister become a psychopathic killer is way more powerful than Jinx miraculously being a good guy and them working together to stop some other evil. That's not what Jinx would do. Feel good endings are lame, especially when you're dealing with a setting as twisted as Piltover and Zaun.

After 3 years, Arcane is over... And I have to say it: Arcane is a masterpiece in every Possible way. Every second of this series is unique and wonderful... The animation, the characters, the plot, the appearance of the cities and locations, and finally the soundtrack is just epic

This show was such an incredible achievement. Well done. My hat is off to everyone involved. If anyone has not seen it, set aside whatever preconceptions you have and watch it. Genuinely feels like 'once in a generation' level of quality.

Totally agree, I just love this type of animation so much. It gives you that comics vibe but with the action packed stuffs brought to life, which I think, for me, is an excellent combination for an animated film/series.

This show was done exactly how a video game TV series should be done. It is enjoyable without any prior knowledge of the League universe. My boyfriend has never played league but he is loving the show as well. So many video game TV shows require all this prior knowledge to enjoy it. Very happy to see that Arcane was made enjoyable for anyone.

This is absolutely insane. I can't even put into words how awestruck I felt after watching episodes 1-3. All I can say is that I'm in shock. Wow. You need to watch this show (I've never been involved in any League of Legends thing ever), but everything about this show has exceeded my expectations beyond measure so far.

Wow, we asked for ages and we finally get it. Glad Vi is the protagonist since she’s hella underrated in game. Also, Piltover looks great! I can’t wait to see other places like Ionia or Bilgewater.

I literally know nothing about League of Legends except that this looks awesome! The animation style is so sick. Looks like a living "concept painting."
The story/lore side is absolutely phenomenal, but the game is a stink hole filled with stink people, with an even stinkier balance team.

This is it, everyone. For years we said "Make a movie! Make a show!". This is it and I couldn't be more excited. This feels like it could become something special.
Everyone is so excited I might come back to play league (okay maybe not that much) but my only two complains are, where is singed ? And of all regions in runeterra they really went for the most boring one. With arguably the most boring characters

@@pablo1006pr You have to remember that Jinx is pretty much the face of league right now, so if they ever plan to make other regions, this is a way to introduce people to the game and it's world.

I've been wishing for LoL movies ever since that one with Leona, Rengar, Ahri, Graves.. when they're in the woods? The way the characterized the champions was so simple and direct, it's really easy to feel like you knew the characters, and had stakes in their stories because of it.
I can't believe they're finally doing it.

At least put a scene where she discovers the existence of skarner's kind (which might be the main thing in arcane) and will do anything for the justice of skarner's kind. But I doubt that since riot made her a cashgrab, but I still hope they fix her lore with the arcane series

Having the series made in house nicely sidesteps the pitfalls most game franchises fall into when film adaptations are made. This looks f***ing rad.
Also helps this is a tv series rather than a film, lets them explore more of the setting and capture why we love this world without having to rush it all into one thing like a film.
what do you mean with "inhouse"? Most animated stuff from riot is done by an outside studio.
The series is not made in-house. Riot may be the producer, but the animation is done by Fortiche Productions.
@@danielsnoopeh1807 I mean the writing, imo good writing can make up for bad animation, less so in reverse. Fortunately the writing looks promising and the animation is gorgeous.

This is the best animation show I ever seen. Everything was so satisfying to watch; the victorian and glorious style and also the voice characters were so well chosen. Please, create more because I'm all for it.
