The only useful source of info i found to solve my problem, which was in particular that the Bluetooth Support Service, that i didnt know of, had nuked itself out of existence for no fking reason and was stopped and disabled. Thank you for this video
Troubleshooter worked thankyou, for those on windows 10, the controller won't show up if you select the option mentioning controller, just select the default bluetooth option after you click 'add bluetooth or other device'

The Bluetooth Support Service was somehow disabled on mine even though bluetooth was enabled and was picking up other devices. After changing the service from diabled to automatic and then starting it afterwards, it picked up my controller instantly. Thanks!

i think mine isn't working still. I guess windows 11 put some sort of ban on PS4 controllers, since I can still use them perfectly fine on my Windows 10 system
My problem is that my pc claims my controller is already connected to the pc... when I click remove device it just says "remove failed". and none of the fixes you showed worked...
i have had this problem for a week now, i cant even use my controller anymore. ive followed 2 videos about this and nothing. cant remove my controller as well.

Hi Simo! I’d go to the Bluetooth & other devices menu again and scroll down and make you you have removed it from all the various sections in case it’s still appearing then go ahead and start the pairing process again.

These instructions aren't working for me. I've tried all of these steps, and the controller will not appear in the list of available devices.
Try a Bluetooth 2.0 port fixed my problem instantly, I was trying on a 3.0 port

I will say, hold BOTH buttons until it double flashes, BOTH DOWN UNTIL DOUBLE FLASHES! (buttons are share and PS). But hold both, not just one
