If that is your grandpa's US general box you should throw it away and get him a Snap-On box if you love him.

Just curious, why do you have to remove both pulleys to change a belt? Doesn't have a tensioner spring to unhook, or pulley covers to remove? Nice set up man👍

Here's a wasp tip for you. Use 2-3 tablespoons of peppermint oil with 1/2 teaspoon of dawn dish soap/ mix in a quart good spray bottle. Spray all around corners and facia. Then adjust the nozzle to knock them down and step on them. Wasps and spiders do not like peppermint oil.. It's healthier for you and less expensive.

Nice tour ! I used straight 30wt oil for flathead engines and `10-30 synthetic (Pure) like Pennzoil platinum for overhead vale engines. I found that Pennzoil Platinum sells for $22.00/ 5 quarts and stands up to the heat better in small engines. I am not sponsored or a distributor. For smoking engines I used Lucas oil stabilizer:, .about 2 ounces per quart..

get a pair of cable cutters from harbor freight they are for cutting battery cables but also work amazing to cut old hard fuel line when running new stuff or just trimming the end of a ful line up. i was a welder for years and had a set i used to make my own custom weld cables but man do they make fast work of rubber hose. also about removing the pullys to change the belt i was a small engine mechanic for several years and never had to do that just bend the keeper a little bit and push the belt on its faster and no harm is done you can also "roll" a belt on in most cases as well get it started on the pully hen just spin the pully or pull on the belt to get it on like you would a timing belt it works pretty well and is fast. if you take a look at the small engine shop tour i did and my tool box tour for more info and the set up we had

@@andybub45 Absolutely. I am getting together a small engine and metal welding business to do on weekends and maybe nights. I found a great ford ranger and I am looking for an enclosed trailer that I can have air conditioning and heating in so I can have a small machine shop and do welding in the winter and summer here in PA.Take care and thanks for the informative video. I hope I can get my stuff together like yours.

Its a start... not making fun of your tools or putting you down either. For the average lawn mower jobs that stuff will save your butt and keep the food on the table. I have (did as retired now) about any tool that you can name and most are american made extreme duty tools. I had at last appraisal a hundred and forty thousand wrapped up in tools that built boats and big trucks, race car engines. Its a lonely life as the hours kill most men who trade their bed for a lantern when starting some project out in the bush here in alaska. I guess my point would be is that I never trusted a tool that could round off nuts an bolts or break from the amount of stress. I had tons of special home made tools that were very expensive but never let me down an people would ask me "what does this do" and just smile an not say too much. From power multipliers to cordless which is the future of a lot of tools to high quality micrometers... you just need them all and if you had to go out and buy to get started,,,, you could retire before starting on money spent... It took me over fifty years to build my tool set

Very well said. I'm always looking for ways to improve my tool setup, whether its buying a new tool to make the job easier or upgrade a tool I have. Its also worth noting that I will be starting an automotive apprenticeship soon, and some of this stuff will not make the cut, for example, the 227 piece tool set. Thanks for watching!

@@andybub45 Thanks for that reply and wanted to mention, a fairly new tool I am guessing and way cheap so's filling in a box just is doable. Called Tangtoolsusa and I haven't used but googled it and wow, lots of little sets that make it easier to get some tools in every drawer. We all don't have twenty thousand just for the box and all it comes with is some door dippers. I know that stuff don't cost much and sure its nice to have every tool nice and shiny when it goes back in the drawers but if your the one man band and jobs are coming sideways, you do as you can. One is to have at least four or more of everything and a dunk tank so you can give a bath and dry as they go in drawers. Mine stayed real nice for a couple of weeks and ok as I went along but boy howdy, that went sideways before that year was up and to look back, sure I could do better but better is for movies as I wound up taking days at a time to clean my messes. By the time that your my age and look back, there are a thousand things I would change. I had several thousands of dollars worth of tools and couldn't work and knew I never would do it again so people offered me money for my tools and it was looking something like a nickel on the dollars spent plus it took years to get there. I needed the money sure but it was my grandson who offered to help me move and just set down gramps and I'll do it so when it came to my tools I told him that they were the last to go on the move and we were just about all done on my move to my permanent cabin..... and I told him to get my international flat bed dump truck and bring it over to my shop so he drives it over for me and askes is this the one to haul your other stuff left? I said yes, ... and they go to your place! Get them in out of the rain and put them away at your house how ever you decide... you have a family to feed and your a beginner so these are a good step to a great beginning. There all yours free and clear plus the title to that truck is in the glove box signed so that is yours too. A lot of people were mad cause I didn't sell them to them and what they don't know is I had sweat equity in them and I wasn't going to find it easy to part with them.

It depends on your ability to use what you have. That’s a mechanic
