- Proper placement of reflective triangles is a must when you find youreself in a breakdown situation on the interstate. Proper placement can keep you and your vehicle from being struck. Be safe!

When I break down on the side of the road or hwy, I do not even open the driver side door, I get in and out on the passenger side only. If I have to sit in my truck and wait for a mechanic, I sit in the passenger seat.
Sage advice and actions I also practice myself. If a police car can be struck, so can your vehicle. Never turn your back to traffic. Be safe.
Perfect information. I’m amazed to see how many drivers from all companies don’t know the correct placement of the triangles. Good job demonstrating this critical safety step.
Finally someone shows proper distance & placement. I see all the time all three triangles within 20 feet from vehicle & all close to traffic lane
As a wrecker and ltl driver for 25 years I agree with everything that is talked about here..
Excellent! Test today…🌟
Hey brother,
Thank you very much for the beautiful explanation!
Keep yourself safe as well.
Thank you! Just blew a tire on i24 and couldn't remember exact placement. Also appreciate the reasoning behind it - so people steer AWAY from my truck!
Also, save your triangles on the passenger side.
PS. I had them all close to the road and actually saw trucks coming towards me!!!! Now that I've spaced and positioned them correctly, I see them veering away!
Glad it was able to help you. Be safe.
Very well explained.👍🏾
Good Stuff, Great Tips😃👍🏿
Very helpful for all drivers and travelers
thank you for helping.
Great video ! Thank you
Glad you liked it!
Great video with good information! At the end of the video you mentioned the distance between the first and last triangle was only 200ft. At 70mph a vehicle is covering 105ft per second, so as effective as we hope these warning devices are, it’s not much!
avoid second time accident , the better way is use my new invention, as follow.

Nicely done!
Great video
Thank you!
Perfect info
Awesome, thanks
Thanks 🙏🏻
Thank you
Great explanation
I confused red triangles on cdl manual book same level ..
Cheers for the info, but in my current situation (on a curve), I placed my triangles the opposite way so drivers see the first triangle first.
thanks
You're welcome!
How would you advise staying safe while placing those triangles should this happen at night, under poor lighting conditions? Assuming that the driver does have a reflective vest on?
4 way flashers of course, and never turn your back to traffic. Wait for a break, if no break, wait until a trooper shows up.
10-100-100
Looks like Jared got out of prison
I think 200f it's not enough, it's should be at least started with 300f then 200f then 100f or 50f
Per FMCSA, "When a vehicle is stopped on the shoulder, or traveled portion of a divided, or one way highway, all signals are placed to the rear of the vehicle. The prescribed distances are 10 feet, 100 feet, and 200 feet to the rear". Be safe.
why use triangles when cones are are more durable, the triangles are fragile, I mix mine with cones
Our fleet is equipped with triangles as are most fleets.
What about the front
Only when at a crest of a hill do you need to worry about placement to the front.
Or a curve or Undivided highway like a 2 lane
Great video
Thanks!
