Good dealers in Japan are profitable because they grow their own KOIs and sell them with added value. If it's just a consumable item that's passed from right to left, it's just a risk and doesn't make money.
@@myboyskoi When you get used to it, you sell it for 10 or 100 times and more its value. It's like an academy for soccer players. That is a big difference from other ornamental fish.
@@atsuminaoki9910 I understand how it works, we do grow fish and we select fish with potential to grow. Unfortunately space is a premium so we are limited on how many we can grow. We don't have the luxury of huge pud ponds and massive fish houses. We are constantly growing and adding more grow on space

I think all koi dealer also grow fish as well as buy and sell them, for most of us we enjoy growing fish as part of the hobby
