Very good points about scenery is one thing, but the emotional & heartfelt experience will stay together. And what a great organization to help you through the guide, the tour and the experience. I know you guys are not "fancy" travelers and excuse me if I'm forcing my opinion on you but it seems like money well spent. Continue to travel safely guys and thanks again for all of the VN videos you have shared with us.
We are usually pretty hesitant to purchase the guided tour, since we are budget travelers and exploring Ha Giang without a guide would have been cheaper. In this case, the guide was absolutely worth it. To be fair, every country has incredible scenery. We could've traveled less than 3 hours from our house in Canada if we were searching for a view. But we chose to travel around the world to Vietnam!...so we really owe it to ourselves to learn from and experience the local culture. it is SO much more memorable. Really loved this tour.
